CrazyBear,,I dont condone with holding food from dogs,and im not knocking any pet owners.or how you feed your Siberian husky.
I was just pointing out why some people do this with Apbt's.Im not defending the step kid who witholds food from his dog.

The red nose male was, indeed, a fine specimen of a canine physically. The problem with him was that he was bred fighting stock and had all kinds of attitude and triggers (territory, food, toys, attention, etc). Definitely a one owner type dog. I was single when i got him (and for most of his life), so he got the best of treatment and reaped the benefits of responsible ownership.

I have kids now and the blue girl doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. The perfect match for where i'm at right now. Once the kids are gone i'm thinking about building a small relief shelter for some of the local rescue efforts. I am experienced with the extra demands of dealing with dogs of all personality types and i love working with them, so it's kind of a no brainer for me.

The dog, which authorities think is lost and not a stray, successfully thwarted a robbery attack on a mother and her 2-year-old son, who were held at knifepoint Monday afternoon.

The Florida woman, who has been identified by authorities simply as "Angela," was leaving a playground with her toddler son in Port Charlotte when a man approached her in the parking lot with a knife and told her not to make any noise or sudden movements.

Angela didn't have to do either to protect herself and her child -- a dog mysteriously ran to the scene and charged the man, who quickly fled.

"I don't think the dog physically attacked the man, but he went at him and was showing signs of aggression, just baring his teeth and growling and barking. It was clear he was trying to defend this woman," Animal Control Lt. Brian Jones told Pet Pulse.

"I don't know what this man's intentions were, but it is very possible this dog saved her life."

The exceptional part of the story, Jones said, is that the dog had never met or even seen the people it quickly jumped to defend.

"You hear about family dogs protecting their owners, but this dog had nothing to do with this woman or her kid," Jones said. "He was like her guardian angel."

After the alleged thief ran away, Angela quickly placed her son, Jordan, in the car and tried to drive off. Before she could, though, the dog jumped into her backseat, waiting with her for the police and animal control officers to arrive at the scene.

The dog was transported to a local shelter and if his owners don't step forward within five days, Jones said, Angela and her family plan to adopt the savior she named "Angel."

My girl at 10 weeks (11 months ago). She is an American Bulldog.

Now the bitch is 21 months ole and 68+lbs... only one heat so far; ill try to breed her on her third.

i just brought my pit in for surgery. she torn a ligament in her back leg. its costing me 2K$ to get done. but its well worth it... these are great dogs...mines only 3.

i hope no one else's dog has to deal with this.

she really needed to be fixed up. shes such a energetic dog. i HATED seeing her limp around like she was.

i got her back yesterday. they gave her 2 types of pain killers. so shes kind of out of it.. just resting. her vet did a great job, and said it went well.
now its up to me to get her rehab right, she can only go out on the leash for 8 weeks!!!. (i figure if i flip a set of plants today, they should be about done by the time her rehab is up. )
