speaking of trimming for SOG, I did a pretty major defoliation today to help my dual 150's penetrate more of the lower budsites. today is day 35 of flower. id post pictures but my phone is messed up and my phone is my only camera....

727jon, cloning on the plant is outlined by JJSCORPIO's cloning stickey.

less stress, quicker recovers b/c the clone is fully rooted by the time you cut it from the mom. im doing this method on all future clonig jobs.

the mistake ive made when doing prepetual is not being patient and not doing any training or pruning and using too small of pots.

this caused me to not have enough between harvests. if you are doing bag seed like me then you dont know the time it takes to finish a strain until you've harvested and having every plant with different finishing times your bound to be harvesting at irregular times. you cant count on 2 finishing every other week until you know when to start and how long to flower.

i had my flower chamber full with 2 girls ready to be moved b/c of too little space in veg chamber so i FIM'd them to control height. i wish i would have been more patient on my first set of girls and FIM'd them b/c i would have had more meds and not run out.

Living here with no AC and trying to grow is quite a challenge with the summer heat.
My cab is average about 94F at the canopy and 86 in the shady areas. My cooler is working good on the rez thankfully at 76F which isn't ideal but safely below the 80 degree, your roots are rotting limit.
But what really puzzles me are two things.
When do you put your plants outside?
When meaning both calendar and growth stage.
And is there a trick to germing seeds? my ratio here on getting them up and going is much less than up north. It may be the seeds, or it may be my methods.
This last set was 8 seeds from a cross of a hybrid and a pheno, which no seed has yet to pop, and 4 afghan kush which 2 did not pop and 2 did. the 2 that did are looking stunted but healthy.
I generally just paper towel in the sandwhich bag, and let them sit for a day or so, if nothing pops I add a bit of ambient heat from my monitor. Then if no pops, I'll scuff em a bit with some plumbing sandpaper, but still no pops except the 2.
Im also loosing alot of cuttings right after they develop roots. I think this is heat related as well. or some weird humidity and temperature, just rotting the whole cutting.
These are my two girls in bloom at day 29.
one is Ogre x Ogre, the other is Ogre X Pot O Gold
I gave some oger clones to a florida native, so I I hope he can keep it alive until I get a good male to cross into it.
Ogre is apparently a pheno of sensi star, so it should have some solid genetics.

Roller....90 is pretty hot. I just disconnected my CFLs because they were putting the temp at 92. Cool tube only now.

I germ my seeds the same as you....except I do it in the closet with the hot water heater. Running at 100% germ the last few months. The only problem I had was with some GHS Colour coated seeds...oh well, didn't lose the lesson at least.

Don't know Ogre...but Pot o Gold is a good strain IMO.

Did you find your RH dropped above 90 degrees? I recreated Arizona in my cab...hurt em for a few days.

Ain't grown outdoors since the 80's so I don't know much about that anymore...smoked away my memory of it....although I remember the 1/4 Elbow christmas presents I gave out that year. Many happy friends.

I have found Indicas are easiest to control under such situations, esp. with taking care of many plants, they are the strongest when it comes to fluctuation in watering schedules...they also deal better with lack of space. HOWEVER...this doesn't rule out sati's or sati/indi mixes....many of the strains I did SOG were mixes, I just had to flower them almost immediately, the internode length is what determines the amount of stretching so....the smaller the better in my opinion. Always TOP at least once (if the strain allows.) I use I think the 4" square pots from HTG supply, they just fit in the 3x3 better.

The heat is wearing on me. I choose to run the lights at night to keep it a little bit cooler in the place. Still makes it uncomfortable to sleep unless I want to have a huge power bill from the AC.
