Thanks copperfield. I have been very happy with it, and I liked my number 3 out the 4 the best. It did not yield as good, it took an extra week compare to the others, but I am happy with the way it smoke/taste/smells. Also love it every-time i break a nug open i get a cheese smell. I have 3 seeds of the pure kush that are getting ready to finish up to figure out my favorite out of them, than 4 ice bombs that i just put in over the last 2 weeks.

The quest for true fire is never ending....... Even more so is the quest to see if we can grow the herb we have at greater potential than the last time we grew it..... I've had my strains for years..... Tried different ones, but always went back to my strains I got from abnormal..... I'm excited about the ic.... So much potential on this site.... I'm glad there's other fire out there that gets bigger n better..... grow it up brother!! I can smell that blue cheese from here..... Lol

Where's all my Florida Grower tomato gardeners at?

I'm about to start this season's tomatoes and pepper starts. Last year I bought the same varieties of tomatoes from two different vendors... Baker Creek Heirloom and Seeds Of Change. I got Pink Brandywine and Yellow Pears. The Baker Creek plants way outperformed the SoC seeds. So, I'll be using Baker Creek seeds this year along with some heirloom Datil pepper seeds I got from some Minorcan friends of mine and some Chocolate Bhut Jolokia aka Ghost pepper that another friend gifted me.

I'm nervous about those Ghost pepper seeds... They're so hot it feels like an accident waiting to happen.

Anyways, the Farmer's almanac says plant soon. About a month window between now and Feb... I feel like this year's going to be hot so I want to start these tomatoes before it gets too hot to set fruit.

Any one else growing tomatoes or veggies this year?

I love growing veggies and herbs. I love basils theres so many types and they smell soooooo good. I havent had a garden for a few years cuz of my animals but i hope to this year. Ive got tons of seeds though. All kinds. I grew a bunch of roselle a few years ago it was super easy to grow and i made some awesome teas amd jelly out of it. All yall cig smokers should grow tobacco its super easy to grow i just havent perfected the curing part. Ive got a spot shaded by oaks thats super fertile I've thought about growing tobacco in. I dont smoke but making my own cigars or wraps for blunts would be nice.

As for tomatoes plant them early or they wont set and the bugs will eat them. Ive had some really good tomato gardens and some really bad ones and the only difference is how early you start them. I had a peruvian purple chile pepper plant survive 4 years before i accodentally killed it. It was a volunteer that came up in my compost pile

cool, what kind of berries Stone?

p, bugs f'n kill me. Had a beautiful year ruined by worms one year when every tomato had atleast one hole in it. I'd love to grow my own baccy though. shit ... since i started rolling my own i've been experimenting. found some toasted Virginia at a tobacco shop downtown. blended it with the cheap stuff and man my cigarettes are so tastey anymore.

tell me more about roselle.

Roselles are probably the easiest plant to grow. Some old timers call them cracker cranberries. A garden nerd like myself that i used to work with gave me the seed for them and a few other members of the hibiscus family. If i remember correctly you plant them in april or may and harvest sept -oct. They take the heat easily. But beware they look a tad bit like our favorite plant from a distance. I think theyre sometimes called jamaican sorrell too. Theyre photoperiod dependent like weed for flowering. Theyre tart by themselves but tasty when sweetened a little.

So what does cold damage look like to a pepper plant? My Poblano plant looked ok yesterday after the first cold night, and today when I got home, it looks like what I'd expect to see if I didn't water it for a week+, all the leaves are straight down, wilted, and pale. I assume the cold did her off? I'll harvest the 3-4 poblanos and start over in a month I guess.

How cold did it see? I know my peppers can take a few nights in the 40's, and even a night or two in the 30's (on the car port).

Also, dont trash it, water and keep fertilizing it, peppers can look complete dead, and they will come back life. So there is hope for it, and it should recover if if you want to spend the time on nit.

Thanks man, definitely impressed with the cree cob LEDs. First time running them and they exceeded my expectations, perfect for my little grow area.

Coba, as far as which one I read to learn/build mine I read Realstyles tutorial but there are other good ones for general info on this site and others too.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=306831

I have mine setup a little different than his, I remotely mounted my drivers outside the tent and used different model meanwells. I saved a layout template for my setup so if I want to build more its easy to center punch and drill/tap from there.

What size grow area are you able to cover with that set-up?

Thanks Jason. I'm a little behind on the LED scene. Your plants look so nice... I have to start getting up on them things.

RockinRobot, I'm not sure the maximum area those 2 panels could cover with good efficiency. There are things like lenses and reflectors that could change the light spread as needed. Those two light up my 2x4 footprint.

Coba, the leds have a good light intensity vs operating temp ratio and lower long term costs when you factor in HD bulb replacements. Those are two of the main reasons why I decided to give them a try. I would not say they are the best option for all setups, if I was running a big room I would use HPS.
