flir helecoptor over my house three times today

For those that are worrying about FLIR's picking up a 250 watt grow light. Well, don't worry at all. The lights aren't putting off a large enough signature for them to pickup over other heat sources in the house or apartment. As long as the grow isn't runing hot and the build has some insulation. Your going to be fine and before anyone doubts me. I was trained in this kind of stuff at the United States Army Research Institute Infantry Forces Research Unit. Special Skills Thermal Training Unit. Had to learn how to hide from Fast Mover's, Gun Ships, and Hand Held Scanning Devices. Being a Sniper, you had to be almost invisible. Figure, my body heat in my gillie suit was roughly putting off a heat source of roughly around 120 degree's Fahrenheit. That's what our Infrared hand held units where pickin up any ways. WOW, I'm ranting. Sorry, I wouldn't worry to much. There are to much in the house hold that will put of a larger wavelength.
Good luck,
BG

Golddust you've been talkin about giving us the goods on flir FOREVER (I've been busted on parole yadda yadda) Get on with it. I don't see the difference on giving us the full scoop, or chiming in once in a while on FLIR matters, in regards to violating your parole especially when they shouldn't know your icmag handle anyhow.

macster,

I hear you and i shouldn't have said anything. If you can't wait a few more months. Then i'm sorry and there's nothing i can do. I've explained this before. I'm not going to anything that might violate my probation right now. I'm getting short and I don't want to give anyone anything that they might violate me on. Shit, I've got my grow book that i wrote. Sitting right next to me and I was told by my lawyer to hold off on marketing it. SO,if he's tells me to hold off till the day after i'm released. GUESS what! I'm going to wait.

Plus, come on man. Don't you want me to post pictures from the unit and the unit type i'm using? Plus, I want to make DAMN sure that the different types of material from Lowes, Home Depot, and other Hardware stores is going to work correctly. I don't want to say use this and your good. Then someone get's busted and comes back on me. I want to make sure 110%. What i post on store bought material is going to work correctly.

Look, I'm not trying to be rude or anything. I just want to make sure in the material part. That everyone is going to be safe and that's the key. "Safety" even me not violating my probation in any way.

I "PROMISE" there will be more info on FLIR's then anyone will need here. There will be pictures of the material i'm using from the DIY stores. There will be pictures of the FLIR unit i'm using. There will be before and after pictures of the thermal imaging screen shots from the unit. There will be plenty of info. Just hang in there and if anyone needs to know now. Use google, there is tons of info to read and get to know this technology.

I hope your not pissed. I just do not want to chance anything that will violate me and getting sent up on the 20 month minum sentence that i could go in for and that's a minum not maximum. You won't see me posting anything about FLIR's in any forum again. Don't want to piss anyone off.
Take care,
BG

About Thermography

The ability to detect and measure thermal energy emitted from an object is known as thermography. The tools of the trade are called infrared cameras, and they translate the invisible infrared spectrum into thermal images that we can see and track via thermography.

Light that is not visible because its wavelength is too long to be detected by the human eye is referred to as thermal or infrared energy – and is the electromagnetic spectrum range that we perceive as heat. Everything with a temperature above absolute zero emits heat, which means that it may be tracked and measured via thermography. (Even ice cubes, emit infrared.) More and more IR radiation is emitted, as an objects temperature increases. Infrared thermography allows us to see, and measure, what our eyes cannot.

Many applications depend upon the precision and accuracy of the images and temperature readings from infrared thermography cameras. The images produced, clearly showing invisible infrared or "heat" radiation via thermography, aid in such diverse areas as medical and scientific research and development, building diagnostics and manufacturing product quality. Infrared thermography cameras are extremely cost-effective, valuable diagnostic tools in many diverse applications, since nearly all equipment gets hotter before it fails. New applications for infrared thermography continually emerge as industry continually strives to improve manufacturing efficiencies, better manage energy usage, improve product quality, and enhance worker safety.

Oh, I am relaxed definitly not angry DG lol (sorry if I gave you that impression) just wondering how your able to comment on flir at all without violating your parole (last thing I want is to cause you any difficulties.) I'm not worried about flir at all, when you can discuss flir I'm sure you'll clear up alot of misconceptions about it.

It's all good. I'm bad at figuring out someone's online mood. Sorry, I was having a bad day when i read and posted that. I'm sorry, for thinking something else. I'll make sure to post everything i find out once i get going again. I've got some buddies that are spring for the FLIR unit and all the materials i need to test for blocking the signal. It should be fun and everyone will get a kick out of the testing. Going to test against a few things. Stuff like block buildings, wooden buildings, etc. Also, going to test materials found at local DIY stores. This will make it easier on everyone. I'm pretty much going to do the testing with a non-Canabis site friend. I'll do most of the testing and he's going to write up the reports. One for online and another that will be sent into the major Cannabis magazines. They can run it if they like or not. Either way, report will be posted here first. I'm looking to run my test will a bunch of 600 HPS lights and really crank up the heat also. Room will be setup just as if they where in full bloom, minus the plants. Just incase we run into any problems. Well, sorry again for jumping the gun. It was a long and rough day, but that's no need for me being rude. You take care and i'll make sure to get that info once released.
Take care all,
BG

ok im a little concerned i am being f.l.i.red three times today chopper flys over with flir flashing a white light at my house..i have a small grow 600 watts flower 150 watts veg...can they detect my grow...im sealed no exhaust out of my house..i hear they bust you by the venting which i have none..any thoughts are appreciated..i know they have to have a warrant to be doing this scan legally...correct? if i film these fly overs and they have no warrant can i just shut down my grow and sue there ass for violating my rights?im really pissed been having a lot of trouble with thieves and now police...i dont want to shut down my grow fuck this sucks..any advice is appreciated

Just to answer some of your questions...

This is my understanding of F.L.I.R. and the laws regarding it. If I am wrong on any of these...-PLEASE- chime in and let me know!

1. You will not see "flashing" lights of any kind/color emitting from the F.L.I.R. on a helicopter.

2. If your room is not vented and heat is allowed to build up it can create a hot spot in that area. Just keep the room cooler with an ac.

3. They DO NOT -and I repeat- DO NOT need a warrant to use F.L.I.R. on your home. BUT...
LEO cannot depend solely on F.L.I.R. imaging to obtain a warrant from a judge -If a cop asked a judge for a warrant with nothing more than the FLIR image, it would be unconstitutional for the judge to grant that warrant-
The F.L.I.R. image must be used in conjunction with other evidence (electric bills, informants, leaking light, odor).

4. You cannot sue the cops for violating your rights even if they are using F.L.I.R. on your home. They always have an -out- like...."we were searching for a suspect" etc.

5. F.L.I.R. is not effective during the daytime. An accurate F.L.I.R. image cannot be obtained during the daytime due to the heat/sun reflection from rooftops and such.

I definitely would not shut down shop based on the choppers. If there are other things going on (thieves saw your grow, someone you know got busted etc) then maybe you should worry a bit...for now I would just relax and take a bong hit.
