I remember One big potato at cannabis world had a 250 watt grow. They used a flir from a chopper on his house. They picked up the heat from his furnace. He knew this because they stated on the warrant where the intense heat was detected in the house. Never the less, they raided his house and he got busted. He moved to California in the end.

Not to mention the thousands of dollars it takes to get a helicopter into the air and get that flir on his house.

dude if the cops were looking at your house with a flir they wouldn't turn the searchlight on. doing that totally gives away the fact that they are looking at you and don't yet have a warrent. it would be like having uniformed officers stand out on the street corner and try to make prostitution busts. more than likely their just looking around the neighborhood for something else. you said you had a problem with thieves. but like the other guy said my space heater uses 1500 watts, Showtime Rottiserie BarBQue uses 1700.

Is there a Airport or helipad next to your house? Highrise buildings or oil or gas pipelines near. Trust me if they had the goods on you, they'd be knocking on your door, not doing multiple fly by's.

FLIR is used by looking through a screen. There are no flashing lights. I suggest tin foil caps for all residents of the house. This will break up your thoughts if they are trying to read your mind. Good luck.

This happens to me all the time. I had one fly so low to the house it was nuts. IT was sooo loud the first time when this happen. The day before I had just went to the hydro store and thought the followed me home or something. The heli would fly over all the time. What i started to do was write down what times of the day and what day it happens. What i notice was a pattern. This made me feel better. This happen last october and still happens all the time. I am still here. I also have only a 600 grow with a t5 veg.

Wasnt commenting on your grow brainthor I was comenting on what grownz posted,funny stuff.You do need to lighten bro,are you in the US?If so,they wont get you that way,it's illegal.And all these paranoid people that say cops will do what they please like take a FLIR helicopter on a joyride to discover growhouses when the initial probable cause cant be used in court are just that,paranoid lolEDIT I've had copters fly over my house practically daily for 6 years now with close to 5K in lights going if that makes you feel any better,they never bothered me not a lick.There are real dangers to doing this,you dont want to be distracted by bullshit

for the record... that was a fairly well documented event.. that grow bust over a heater vent,,, ya .. they taged the vent as a grow.. and "found" the 250 watter grow on the other side of the house,, I think they worked a deal to lessen the bust but still got hammered..

ok im a little concerned i am being f.l.i.red three times today chopper flys over with flir flashing a white light at my house..i have a small grow 600 watts flower 150 watts veg...can they detect my grow...im sealed no exhaust out of my house..i hear they bust you by the venting which i have none..any thoughts are appreciated..i know they have to have a warrant to be doing this scan legally...correct? if i film these fly overs and they have no warrant can i just shut down my grow and sue there ass for violating my rights?im really pissed been having a lot of trouble with thieves and now police...i dont want to shut down my grow fuck this sucks..any advice is appreciated

from information I have gathered for other growers, apparently there is a device on special police copters that can pick up HEAT, particularly heat that is not produced by any heater and other appliances that create heat in your house (including a gas water heater or other powerful ones. I dont know though, I always thought this to be a rumor myself.

As has been said, that 250w bust actually went down.... Alot of people seem to know about it. Helicopters don't worry me personally. But if i was in any part of the US i wouldn't put it past LEO but the chances of it actually happening is very slim. My part of the world is pretty lax. Def don't need to worry about FLIR round here. lol
