First time grower with SILS on micro grow

I think im getting indeed a bit of too much water in the soil..

Just for some reference, this is my plant.

I keep her wet all the time. I'm giving her a liter a day now and water her 4-5 times a day.

PS. I'm not using bottled water anymore.
I'm just using the bottle.
I drilled a little hole in the lid and squirt the water right at the stalk as well as any dry spots on the surface of the soil.

She seems really happy. She's not drowning or moldy.

Here's my thought. (remember that I make stuff up. lol)

The leaves in that zone grew, and established themselves based on the conditions at the time.
Both the environmental conditions, and the state of recovery from whatever was wrong with the plants at the time.

Those leaves are no longer perfectly suited to the new environment and the plant is doing what it needs to do with them to keep them useful and productive now.

It's the new growth and younger growth that's important.
The old stuff is a record of the past.

I remember cranking up my lights and most of the big fan leaves just dried up and died.
I don't think it was so much because I cooked them, but because the plant simply didn't need them anymore for photosynthesis and stopped wasting resources on them to keep them alive.

I think it's much the same thing.
Why would a plant waste its resources, growing and stretching if it gets all the light and photosynthesis it needs, without all the stretching.

I will think in a way of make the light sideways, need to see if i have anything to hold the lights..
Or some other solution, i need to put my brain into work

I've seen that before.
This was my plant from May 2019, at 6 weeks old.

She had no intention of stretching. Lol

i need to lower my kight outout but with the 9w the readings are 40/50% less that what i have now..i think i will downgrade slowly and see what they do..

But you are running with lower rh levels that i do and that makes some difference in evaporation of the soil..
how old is she at this time buds?
She is looking good :bump::biggrin:

It's almost all evaporation, and I've got holes in the side of my planter.
I'm sure transpiration is almost nothing at this stage.

Instead of pouring the water down the tube to the bottom, I'm putting it in right at the stalk from up top.

I really like how I can just keep her soaked and she seems to be thriving.

I don't have to worry about when to water anymore. I just soak her down regularly, and it drains to the bottom.
She's not drowning and has all the moisture she wants and needs.

It's really easy.

She is 13 days old now, from when she broke the surface of the soil.

So instead of moving the lights, i strap down my girls..since they are my lab monkeys i think its the appropriate way..
Out of the grow and with flash on

buds see the difference in the colour she gets with the falsh and under the sil spectrum?
I think you guys agree that the colour is on point..
Now that i think and recollet how she growed in the last days after the higher intendity, she stoped growing in height and started to branch out..
Now under the flash i see how dry the leafs are even with rh in 50/55% too much light indeed.

Now they get readings of 30k at the highest point of them..lets see how they react
Also, the plastic is temporary, just for them dont have their leafs in direct contact with the soil..i know the dont breed properly that way, almost imediatly starte creating vapor dropets in the plastic. I want the branches to point up and get out of the soil and will take the plastic out..
Also my fingers smelled sweet weed :D
Peace

I agree everything looks great. I somehow jumped a page when reading thru the thread. I missed the whole transplant and gnat thing on the first go round. Most of what I saw is the old growth problems and shock of transplant.

Caio definitely called that before it was even transplanted. Some good advice all the way thru by a few members. That's what I love about ICmag right there. It feels like a family and people with experience are around to give the much needed advice.

Here is the link to my first time! It was everything they said. Mostly overwatering. I'm sure the miracle grow soil and nutes were not helping my situation any. She suffered thru all of my ineptitude and helped me learn a lot about what I needed to be doing.

Keep growing strong thru 2021 and beyond!

They are pointing their leafs up now and i removed the plastic cover of the soil..only 2 leafs are touching the soil, as the day passes and she drop her leafs i will see how many touch the soil..
The new growth in the bigger one is not all glued together like it was..
The damaged big leaf finger that you see was yesterday when i was straping her..
Also 3 days ago also i accidentaly cuted a side branch when i was cuting a big fan leaf, i regreted it imediatly
Lets keep going
Peace

2 days have passed since the 250ml watering that each of the youngings get, the soil is much more dryer, the heater bellow them help with that, i will give them 50ml everyday starting today, i think the side pot holes and the heater helps a lot in drying the medium and dont get waterclogged i think
