Fireknot farm 2016

My dumb ass friend put out 99 plants. Said the same thing, "deer are here everyday, they never bother the plants." Then one night, once all the other vegetation dried up, the deer ate over 20 plants, and topped almost all of them. He said he has about 15 deer, not including the males.[/QUOTE

He must have had some small plants. By the time vegetation dries up, deer would need to climb an orchard ladder to top any of mine.

Last night before the babies hit the sack they got blasted with zinc sulfate at 30 ml/gal until dripping. Used probably ~ a half gallon. Pointing the atomizer downward into the soil and shaking the atomizer to stay mixed.

This evening, after grinding 30ml of manganese sulfate pellets down to a powder with my mortar and pestel while wearing a respirator, I will do the same with it.

I heard if you hang blood meal or is it bone meal? That will keep deers away, it will probably draw in bears though?

Poor bullfrog was caught in the deer net. I helped free him. He was very upset with me.

This mutant sorcerers apprentice is my favorite plant for some reason. There is a truly amazing pheno in these genetics that gets big, is potent, and just reeks of candy apple and chem dawg. Some of the best outdoor weed I've ever smoked. I hope I find it. If so its getting mom'd and ran inside next winter.

Not sure if it draws them in but it probably does, bears have a really good sense of smell. Last year I had organic amendments stored outside and not well protected, and bears got into it several times. They would drag 40-50lb bags of bone meal, fish bone meal and 5 gal buckets of crab cake into the woods. Several deer walk by within forty feet of that same spot every day that has the bone meal bags.

Wash with the bar of soap first, so more of your human scent is on it.

Also human hair can help in the same fashion of leaving human scent. Can go to the barber shop and ask for the days sweepings, then spread it around the perimeter.

Neither are 100% though, they both do help but nothing beats a sturdy fence.

That is hilarious. I remember this dude pretended he was a chick on another forum in order to help sell some seeds.
Got lots of attention.
Then one day in one of the pics were these huge man hands. whaa whaa whaaa.

Looking good in there! Looking forward to seeing how those turn out.
Bodhi has some killer gear. Good luck on finding the pheno you want!

Thanks so much leadsled! It's pretty amazing to see them start to bounce back. Even more so to have a thorough understanding of what I need to do to balance them. I am loving this whole process and again am grateful for your insight. I see they still need Ca, which is en route, and pretty soon here I will be able to source those other products you recommended. I'm feeling pretty good about all this!

Chopping my candyland today. It looks like some of the dankest stuff I've ever grown. I'll take a pic on Monday when I start to trim it up.
