I suspect that we don’t know the whole story with Simone. Perhaps she’s holding back and not talking about sensitive matters because the Olympics are on-going and she knows that the athletes that are competing deserve the spotlight, not her.
It’s a shame that most athletes can’t use cannabis.

I saw a Joe Rogan clip, he was talking about her recently coming off ADHD medication (because it wasn't allowed in Tokyo? i forget?) and that might have been a major factor in her mental health problems.

She says she's physically fine and seeing a doctor every day. From every angle, it's in her head.

The interview was cut short when she saw an ice cream man, and ran off.

In the old days pros were not allowed at the olympics because they had an unfair advantage. But today it's okay.... ?!?

Cannabis is not performance enhancing like say steroids ,on the contrary imo

Athletes should be allowed to use the necessary medication they require.

Mental health problems are usually in your head.... just because she's physically fine doesn't mean coming off meds doesn't play any part.
Regardless, what's your point? That mental health problems means you're weak?

Perhaps your news is different, but I read there is no official reason. So you are jumping to conclusions. As am I. Only I'm still weighing up the evidence, and you have decided it's right and mental health needs protection from anyone that talks about it.

How do you decide what a strength and weakness is. Lets say your a chess grand master. Who can't play for some reason. Is that a strength? Without going off thinking about some other different circumstances that suit you, is that a strength. It just lost you the tournament. Strength or weakness. If it's going to get you eaten, it's a weakness.

What does she do? some singles event stuff. Run like fuck. Jump like fuck. Swim like fuck. Am I fuck.

Sure it can be a seen as 'weakness' but doesn't maker her a weak person, which was the impression i got from you, my apology if it's not.
Maybe she didn't want to talk about coming off of meds because some might see that as an excuse, i don't know?
Even if she wasn't coming off meds, if you're having mental problems from stress or whatever the right thing to do is to deal with it and take care of it so it doesn't escalate into something more permanent.
A lot of the time mental illness is a direct result of taking on more than you can handle, and not listening to the warning signs.... it can stem from people trying to be too strong due to fear of being ridiculed and mocked, called weak.... not a sign of weakness, a sign of knowing when you have to take a step back.

If you call that weakness, good luck to you and your family if you ever find youself struggling with whatever may be happening.

My daughter is ADHD without her meds she can't focus. Therefore, when Simone says she has no "spacial awareness" Who are we to say it is BS! Yes it is in her head, that is where ADHD competes :) :tiphat:

- if someone is partaking in a sport that can kill them - if they don't get it right - then they have every right to pull-out of having to do it for safety reasons - if nothing else -

Here we have a story about Lewis Hamilton - says he might be suffering from what is called 'Long Covid' - but he's still driving - which perhaps is not such a good idea at 200mph -

Lewis Hamilton fears he has Long Covid after struggling with dizziness, fatigue and blurred vision after finishing 3rd in Budapest GP
  • Lewis Hamilton fought back to third at the Hungary GP after a thrilling race at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród
  • The Brit needed assistance to get onto the podium as he suffered blurred vision following the 70-lap race
  • He said training has been 'different' and he could have Long Covid after testing positive eight months ago

Lewis Hamilton fears he may be suffering the effects of Long Covid - after coming close to collapse at the end of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Hamilton complained of extreme fatigue and dizziness and required help onto the podium, after finishing third in one of the most dramatic races in recent history.

Last, after a strategic mistake by Mercedes, Hamilton weaved his way through the field to achieve a podium finish, and go into the mid-season break with a six point lead over his rival Max Verstappen in the drivers' championship.

But after the race he admitted he may be suffering the debilitating long-term effects of coronavirus, having contracted the disease last December.

Hamilton said: 'I haven't spoken to anyone about long Covid but I think it is lingering there. I remember the effects of when I had it and training has been different since then. The level of fatigue that you get is different and it's a real challenge.

Lewis Hamilton has revealed he is still suffering the effects of Covid-19, eight months on from first testing positive for the virus

What is Long Covid?

Long Covid - also known as post-Covid-19 syndrome - is when Covid symptoms continue beyond the period of infection.

Among the long list of symptoms are fatigue, chest tightness, dizziness, heart palpitations and problems with memory or concentration.

Research published by the Department of Health last month suggested that up to two-million people in the UK may have had Long Covid.

According to the NHS, the chances of having long-term symptoms does not seem to be linked to how ill you are when you first get COVID-19.

However, the study last month showed that prevalence of Long Covid increased with age and was higher among women.

'I'm trying to keep training and preparing as best I can. Who knows what it was today? Maybe dehydration. I don't know but it was definitely different. I had something similar at Silverstone but this was way worse. I was having real dizziness and everything got a bit blurry on the podium.

'I have been fighting all year with staying healthy because of what happened at the end of last year but still it's a battle.'

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff confirmed Hamilton had been sent to the team doctor at the end of the race as a precaution, after he seemed overwhelmed on the podium.

'I think you can just relate to it with the heat out there and a race like he had with tons of overtaking,' Wolff said. 'That is exhausting. I think he should be alright, but it is better to be safe than sorry.'

driving isn't exactly a sport ie physical like running etc. you just sit steer and the car does it all.
However if you have blurred vision and feel
dizzy you shouldn't be behind the wheel.
He should not have been driving at all because it's a danger for everyone

This article gives some reasons to consider that driving is more than sitting and steering while the car does it all.

The g-forces they withstand would knock you out

So let’s get to the meat of this: why do F1 drivers sweat so much and have such elevated heart rates during a race if all they do is sit in a car and turn a steering wheel? The answer is g-forces. Just because drivers don’t actively move in the traditional way that we expect athletes to move doesn’t mean they aren’t exercising. Perhaps what people like McNabb don’t understand is that unlike in most sports, F1 drivers don’t transfer their energy into something else, such as a ball, but rather resist the energy and stress that g-forces put on their bodies.

sorry, but I just disagree :) by this theory all people who drive over the limit on the motorway and all pilots are athletes too...
As far as I am concerned it is not a real sport. It's just a waste of good air and time and I've never any respect for it nor understand others fascination by it. It serves no purpose what so ever.
getting to drive really fast is fun, sure but watching someone else drive round and round? just fuking stupid imo

oh and sweating and higher heart rates? you're suppose to get that from activities such as sex or actual sports not from stress.
btw some people just sweat a lot anyway ;)

pretty sure NASCAR drivers might disagree. temps in car can vary from 100 deg F in suits to nearly 170 deg F down by floorboards, with drivers typically losing between 5 & 10 lbs just from sweating. i've seen them being removed from cars, nearly unable to stand much less walk. "sit & steer" LOL!
