Finally, my first grow!

MGJ always a pleasure, sir. I, too, love that pineapple smell. Funny, I don't really like pineapple, except with Cool Whip. I have a small pocket microscope, and it's really hard to check the trichs without clipping any leaves. At this point, I don't care how much I yield because that Cindy sure looks fantastic! Besides, I should learn how to grow first, then I'll worry about yield. I don't think they're doing too shabby, myself. Did you put those babies into flower yet? I guess I'll find out when I stop by your place. I hope there's some pancakes left.

I've been thinking of doing some small 150 watt grows inbetween my outdoor grows. I don't wanna stop growing outdoors, though. The sun is my friend, even in AZ when it tops 105 some days.

Dr. Dog hey, bud. Yeah, those fan leaves sure do get in the way. I did leave a few on, but I did clip most of them. I can't wait till I'm clipping buds off, though!

Core hey, man. So, how was the morning after your birthday? I think I called in the day after my birthday this year...but it was worth it. I didn't chop her yet. I'm waiting for her to get fatter, because nothing's better than fat virgins, yeah? I totally agree that she isn't ready yet. But I do believe she's about halfway done. The fan leaves...yeah...I might've went a little overboard, but not much. Basically, I cut the four biggest ones, because they were seriously blocking sunlight.

hazy 'sup, my fellow AZer? Dude, I learned so much more from this first grow than I ever learned by reading about it. I think I've got a while before I'm weed sufficient, but I'm getting there. You've been growing for a long time. You're not old, but wise I don't even know what I'd do if I started getting more pot than I could smoke. I'd probably give it away to my friends, but all my friends are on this website :friends:

zolar hey pal, thanks for stopping by. You know, I was actually thinking about revegging this one, but I still have 5 seeds left. And if those don't work out, I'll get some more. Joey Weed has them, that's where I got 'em, and so far it looks pretty promising. If I do decide to reveg, I'll be doing it for clones...but that's a whole 'nother ballgame completely.

TML heeeeeey, dude! I'm gonna stop by the igloo later and put up some posters. She sure did get frosty pretty quick, huh? She didn't look like that the day before I took those shots. I swear it snowed on her The little one, man...I just feel for her. All she wants to do is grow, and those damn bugs got to her. I think she's doing all right, though. She's got some snow on her, too. Not as much as her big sister, but still...and they're both going to be "sacrificed", no matter how big or small they are.

B/R what's up, dude? I think our baby has some serious gas problems. He farts more than I do! I was thinking the same thing about quality going a long way. this harvest will probably last longer than expected because it sure as hell isn't shwagg I'm smoking.

Now, for the plant update. The soil was pretty dry, shame on me, but I was waiting for my nutes. They came today, and I gave them a nice dose of Earth Juice Bloom. I think I'm gonna use Botanicare's Sweet when I flush them. I know I'm pretty late in the bloom nutes, but diapers are more important than nutes. I don't think they minded anyway, but now I have the food they crave...and I must admit, it smells alot better than the Iguana Juice.

Aaaaaah me too, my harvest finished 4 days ago nearly 2 & 1/2 Oz in 2 weeks But i'm not sorry at all right now i'm back smokin hash..
Outdoors rocks, i always wanted to try outdoors but around here its a little dangerous . God's light is the best light i guess lol.

Alrighty, I think that harvest time is around the corner. About three weeks away. I went and looked at when I put them outside, which is when I believe they started flowering, and it's been 35 days since then. Do I count from when I they first started stretching or when I saw preflowers? Good thing I have both documented on my grow diary. I figure they've got aobut 20-25 days to go. I sure hope they fatten up a lot. I'm predicting my dry weight at about half an oz. Hopefully more, but we'll see when the time comes. Next year, I'm definitely starting earlier. I want some three footers next time. Anybody got any input as to what day they're on?

Start your count from when they started getting 12 hrs of darkness or when you put them outside. Dont get chop happy to early lol let them finish!! Check the trics!!

I can't eat pineapple - eats up my gums - but I sure do love the flavor and aroma - especially the over ripe pineapple of some C99s and crosses. I think you're doing a great job learning on this grow - it won't be long until you find the yield methods that work best for you. I put one of the Cindys to flower this week, I plan to run her 60-65 days unless she is a really fast girl. Fresh pancakes are on the table, and the canna-maple syrup is extra strong tonight - I misread the recipe and used 2 TBS cannabutter per serving instead of 2 TSP

let's see, when i flip my plants to 12/12, it takes a week or two for females to show usually. so if you count from the date of first flowers and add a week or two you should be in the area.
from there go by the trichs, cloudy please
another idea i got from mandalamike is to chop just before the pistils(white hairs) completely die back, while there are still a few white ones.
i've checked the trichs at that stage and they are in fact usually cloudy.

I thought I smelt MGJ's cooking

You'll know when they're done. The leaves will start to yellow on you for a bit, you'll be almost able to watch her slowly start to die on you. Pistils will shrivel. Trichs will be cloudy, amber (on some strains)
If you don't have a loupe...just be patient, wait it out. I'd say your 3 week estimate is a good one but, you can never properly tell from pics alone and so far away.

I start counting flowering days from when i see the first pistil, it can take 2 weeks to know sometimes...

I get the same thing with anything citrus, not on one fruit, but lets say gf brought home a box of tangerines, I would get sores on my gums that are super painful, especially to Ketchup.

Twisted brother, get your self a magnifying glass and check those trics, do not chop down anything that if you don't see some amber trics, personally I shoot for about 50/50 amber cloudy

more clear..heady high(psychoactive)..more amber..body high(narcotic)..kinda light to heavy..usually you want something in the middle..

Hey everyone whew, posting and updating is getting harder. I'm a student first, grower second. Anywho, I figure my chop date is going to be between Oct. 18-23. I'll be checkin' trichs all the way through.

INB I definitely don't wanna get chop happy. I wanna do this as close to perfect as possible.

MGJ always a pleasure, sir! I get the same gum problem when I eat Kiwi, but it tastes so good! Guilty pleasures, I guess. I have learned a tremendous amount from this grow, one of the biggest things I learned is the significance of topping early on, and I learned that from some darn insects! Also, seeing your bush has me convinced to try topping next round. This Cindy is going to be run about 60 days as well. Oct. 22 will be the 60th day, so I'm gonna try real hard to keep her alive till then. super strength canna syrup! Why do my algebra problems keep floating off the page?

hazy I'm looking for the trademark sativa high. Is that when the trichs are cloudy or clear?

TML hello, my northern brutha! Did you bring the Molson? I think the three week estimate is also a good one. I just don't wanna screw it up, ya know? It's my first harvest, so I wan't everything to go well. Yeah, that's MGJ's canna pancakes and canna syrup you smell. Just be careful on the syrup, it's extra extra strong.

SG55 Well, we'll see what the trichs tell us. I have a pocket scope, but I think I'll get a jeweler's loupe also.

Hey bro, nice to hear the smoke is above par. Yeah I hear you on the gas part, it's rather weird when you can feel it on your arm when you're holding them. For some reason it's cute when the baby does it but when I do it I get a glare, hmmmm go figure. The 18 is a good day lol, I normally crop my outdoor on that day, it's a b-day present to myself lol, take care man.

What's up, everyone? I've got an update of sorts...not about my plants, but about my school. I've got a 93% in my algebra class! I don't even know how that's possible, because I've tried more than a few times to get this crap. I also helped a friend harvest her plant. It was also her first grow. She let me keep the trimmings and popcorn buds, so I made some hash out of it. So, yeah, I'm pretty......

B/R Yeah, my wife gets all grossed out and calls me a pig. But even when she does it, it's okay. Only I get the looks. It's cute when he farts, his face turns a bright red. Dude, he crapped on my wrist the other day. It came right out of his diaper. Gross. It's been getting colder than I thought here, so a chop date of Oct. 18 isn't as much as a prediction as it was before. Hopefully, she can wait till the 22nd.

Yeah me too but i'm gonna ask a jeweler nearby, maybe he can sell me a spare one or atleast he'll tell me where to buy them. On my last grow i could't tell exactly the percenatage of milky & amber trichs, but when the pistils r 75% brown/red or orange,that tells me that harvest time is up.

i used 2 different lenses & put them an inch between one another was able to see (with good eyes) milky & a few amber trichs but it's a bad/funny idea & u can't be 100% certain, but atleast i got the pic at that time lol. I'm not gonna do that again on these AIs so i suggest we both buy a jewller's loupe to see trichs better, because by judjing from pistils is NOT very accurate.
