yeah, man we sure had some weird weather last week
im glad to hear the show rocked and i hope you had a great time
hopefully you will find some good stuff in your next seed run, i think thats part of the fun of growing fresh from seed; you never know what you are going to get
i have some of those bhodi love triangle seed sprouted and im hoping to find a keeper or two in the bunch
im coming up on some new gear here, hopefully i will find something worth talking about in that bunch

hope everyone is having a great start to their week
lets kick some ass!

Hey Pop Rocks, when I ran the love triangle I had similar issues with the leaf curl, like the gogi Rode is running into. Keep the nitrogen low and take it easy on the feed and you should be golden. She was a heavy yeilder. Bodhi said in the description that their is a lot of variation, so a good chance of finding a keeper.

Good morning friends.

I've had a busy weekend but it was nice to get so much done. The biggest project was getting my moms cabin open and the pier and boat in the water. That requires the 6 hour round trip and can really make a dent in a weekend. I'm glad I had Monday off. Heavy rain and thunderstorms 4 out of the last 5 days means the bike trails will be closed for a while and even the disc golf courses are under water. I'm ready to be done with spring showers and get going on summer.

@Rodehazrd. Yes it makes sense that a healthier plant going into flower is going to do better. That is a great point that the more happy a plant the better root system it would have. I think I have to take better care of my plants in veg and not try to nurse them back right before flower. Two stems from a seed sounds really cool. I think I saw something like that on another thread but not sure, must be really rare. That Goji is a beauty! I like her structure I hope she makes up for quantity (of plants) with quality. I found the chemmy jones but have held off on ordering and will try to find something in the cobra lips and other 1/2 pack of chem91xSL. It looks like your garden is doing great keep up the good work!

@pop_rocks. I'm going to go out to CO with my bro sometime in the fall and maybe his buddy would hook me up with a cut. He makes his living growing it but since I'd be taking it 1000 miles away and just growing for personal I wouldn't be a threat. It would be a great way to get a winner. The hippie neighbors are pretty cool. They are the only other people in the neighborhood that puff I think. The husband rides a motorcycle and is also into mountain biking so we are going to try to get out for a ride soon. They have 3 young kids and are really busy so we don't get together a lot. Their buds are good, well trimmed and nice and dense, very smooth hitting, not a ton of flavor but plenty potent fairly balanced buzz. I hope you get some great plants from the LT seeds. Keep us posted. I finally pulled the trigger on a Fitbit on Friday and so far I'm digging it. It looks like my phone was cheating me on my steps and with the Fitbit I was over 18000 on my first day. I like being able to look at heart rate and at how I'm sleeping as well. Good product.

@Packerfan. I'm glad that slayer put on a good show. Too bad traffic sucked and I hope the extra drive time didn't cut into party time too much. I'm sorry to hear about your clones but I think you have a great attitude about it and will have a great time popping seeds. The hunt really is part of the fun isn't it? I'll be keeping an eye on how the cobra lips do for you since they will be in my rotation in a couple more grows. I will keep good notes and keep you posted on the GF plants (just in case you get any girls LOL). I hear a lot of good about the headbangers so you have some great genetics going.

@Badfishy. Doing well brother. I hope you are too!

18k steps is a solid day
i usually get between 10 and 15k a day, the most i think ive gotten was a little over 25,000
its fun because you will start to earn badges and things that mark your progress
if it were just about the numbers i would be happy, but the badges give you an extra incentive to keep going
did you get the new gen fitbit or one of the older models?
the mrs has a new one now (they gave it to her as a warantee replacement when her old one broke) and its rad
i will definately upgrade when its time
i think the way the phones measure steps is based on gps coordinates not actual steps taken; the fitbit is a true pedometer and counts each step
plus some have a heart rate tracker and to me that is a better measure of overall health
glad you are digging on the new device brother, were you able to get the mrs on board too?
i remember hearing you talk about the cabin in years past, man! its like the swallows returning to capistranno
/spring is finally here when you put that dock into the water
i hope you guys are able to get out there and enjoy the season

thanks for the advice packman'
i like to run my feeding really light when growing out the new stuff just to see how they do naturally
i might add some light bloom nutrients and molasses when i flip them, that shouldent be too much

cant wait for tomorrow,guys!
the mrs was very excited about a "surprise" she got me for my bday
that means she got me a new piece to smoke out of
i hope its a new bong but whatever it is, i plan on getting nice with it over the next couple days
hope to hear more from our newer posters who have chimed in,same goes for anyone else who happens to be lurking about

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

Yes 18k isn't too bad for a Saturday when the weather kept me from outdoor activities after work but when I go shoot disc after work and am more active I think I can be at 30k easy. Yesterday was over 26k. I walk around at work all day, workout and dog walk before work and some activities after and it all adds up. You are right that the numbers are cool and give you some great data, but the badges and challenges help you keep going and put in the extra work. I just wish I would have got this in January when I started exercising, I'd love to see the differences in heart rate and other things as I've gotten in shape. I got the charge 2 which is a pretty basic model but does everything I need, well worth it for a little over 100 bucks. A buddy at work has a really fancy garmin that does all kinds of stuff, but they are like 700 bucks. The wife isn't too interested in all this stuff right now but maybe she will come around, she is happy for me.

As I've mentioned I've been going up to the cabin for my whole life and feel very lucky to have it avalable. It is a lot of work keeping it up and running but it's so nice up there that makes it worth it. I just wish I could get up there more and enjoy it during the summer. It was nice to help mom out on Mother's Day and get the place in good shape for the year.

I hope you have an awesome day tomorrow brother. Post up a pic of that "surprise" when you get a chance, I love seeing cool pieces. Enjoy your burger and pile it high with your favorite toppings.

man, you are one high stepper!
if you are avg. 26k steps in a day you are going to kill it
i work a desk job sort of but i make myself walk a couple times a day at work around the facilities and couple times a week after work
the badges are cool and there are daily badges as well as total' badges
a freind at work just got her syberian railroad, meaning she walked the distance of that rail line ( over 5000 miles i think), the next one is like pole to pole (walking the distance between the poles and the final award is like walking the distance of the equator
/shes almost walked all the steps! i was so happy for her
its little things like that that keep me going to take those last few steps
/im goign to add a few extra steps now that i know how fancy your footwork is!
rock on my man and i iwll be sure to post up a pic or two of the new pipe

you fit the grey tub with the net pot into the other basket?
do you also put medium into the grey tub or are the plants supported by just whats in the net pots
sounds like a cool set up,rode could you show more about it?

Rodehazrd

Hey pops
The top tub with the net pot gets 25 gal of media the bottom one gets filled with water the net pot filled with rockwool keeps the dirt out of the water and soaks it into the soil, I fill to 6" of water with the 4" tees and 6" net pot 8" of water when I used a 6" tee and a 8" pot I'm going outdoors with these and plan to use a solar air pump from Home Depot to bubble the air and keep the slime away in the bottom tub. I feed from the top like normal and refill the bottom as needed it never really dries out just stays moist I let it get low before feeding so the runoff can go out the four little holes in the corners. St. First I got a lot of roots in the water but adding a layer of landscaping cloth helped. The seed plants go down there worse than the clones. Taproots I guess go deeper clones don't have them.:tiphat:

Happy Thursday friends.

@pop_rocks. I'm very lucky to have a job that keeps me so active or I'd never get that many steps in. I was over 26k again yesterday so looks like that will be the norm for a work day during the week. I can't wait to see how many I can get on a day where I shoot a game of disc before or after work. That railroad and the pole to pole badge sounds cool. I got the Yosemite and marathon as well. Looking forward to seeing what's next. I hope your having a great day, HBD, and did you get the biggest burger at fuds?

@Rodehazrd. Thanks for showing us your tubs. They are a great idea. How tall are the they when fully up and running with both together? That is a lot of soil have you ever put 2 plants in one tub?

Rodehazrd

Well-known member
Yeah Fiddy I usually do two plants in there. Sometimes I put metal fence post in the corners and drape them with netting. Tried funnel and pipe on the side but It was easiest to just lean a 3 gallon jug against the side and pour it in
Bad Fishey when I go away I soak them good from the top with a sprinkler can then fill the bottom I slip a yard stick down the side and get a level reading. I never did figure out how to pm a pix hope you find this.:tiphat:
Pops the size of the tub plus which size net pot is different for various brands I plan to dig mine into the side of a ridge as deep as I can to keep the roots cool

that is a great set up rode! thanks for sharing
about how long can you leave the plants alone before needing to replenish the reservoir?
i like the idea of aerating the water with solar powered pump

wow,man
that is great that you can rack up the steps like that
im sure you will hit the first few awards quite quickly, i wonder if you could achieve one of the bigger step totals?!?
(the max badge is for like 100,000 steps ina day, i bet there are only a few people who even have that)
i cant wait to hear how it goes and im glad you are having fun with your fitbit
we had burgers and fries and went for a nice walk last night
then this morning i got up kind of early and pregamed until the mrs got out of bed
we ended up walking another segment of our sea to sea trail and then went out for some good mexican food
we also found a good looking fish and chips place that we are goign to go back to this weekend
this week has been a great week for me
im going back in to work tomorrow but then its the weekend and teh second half of the fun
i talked to my safe addy friend and he said i got a package from europe!
i will be sure to post up some pics of the haul, bith from overseas and the gifts i got from the mrs!

hope everyone is wrapping up their week and you goons are ready for the weekend!
smoke a couple big hits and lets get the fun started!

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

O man, 100k steps is a lot but I think I could do it if I had nothing else to do that day. I'm over 20k allready today and I'm going disc golfing after work and shooting for over 30k total today. Now I can see how I've lost all this weight so quick, my Fitbit says I burn about 4500 cal/day.

You can't go wrong with burgers, Mexican food and some nice hikes. Glad you are having a good week brother. So you are working your way from west to east on the sea to sea trail, do you think you will ever complete that trek? That sea to sea should be a Fitbit trophy. If I won the lottery and didn't have to work I'd love to do some of the long treks like the blue ridge and maybe even the sea to sea.

That's cool you got a package from overseas, I wired some cash to a guy in GB a couple months ago for some seeds and haven't seen them so I'm guessing thay arnt coming. Glad you got yours but I doubt I'll be ordering outside of the US anymore unless I have no choice.

I hope your weekend goes as well as your week did!

its the weekend fellas'
my plan is to pick up right where i left off and continue the b'day celebration
once the mrs wakes up we are going for a canyon walk and then out to get more fudruckers (they sent me a coupon for a free 1/3lb burger with purchase so i printed up a couple extra, its only around 10$ for me and the mrs), we are also going to this fancy fish place at some point
that is great that you are racking up the steps fiddy!
if you can get 20k just walking around at work i can see you getting way more on the days you really put your best foot foreward
like some days i will amke sure to take all the extra steps i can, in addition to going on our night walks
but im only hitting about 20-25k on those days
get some of those high step total badges, brother
the place i got the package from was called the vault seeds
i won a contest on here a wile ago and the package arrived this past week
it had a t and soem stickers (which i thought were really cool), plus rolling papers and a bunch of peyote critical seed from barneys farm
i left a few seeds with my friend so he can sprout them at his pad and i plan on growing out a couple under the full sun in addition to grabbing some cuts and putting those under my light
the vault seems like they have their act together and the service was no problem
i also got a gift package from a grower friend of my buddy; in it were three bags of different weed and a business card
i also got not one but two new bongs!
one is a nice bubbler style and the other is a little blue number, about 4-5" tall
this one turned out to be my favorite and i named it the dutch boy
i will try and get some pics of the bounty and post them up here
hope your weekend is off to a great start
i told the mrs about your step totals and she was impressed
keep kicking ass my man!

What's up jungle mates,

Had a great 4 day work week, now it's time to kick off the birthday weekend. One of my co workers brought me a 5th of tequila for my birthday. I am about to get the smoker started, after a cup of coffee and a spliff of GHOST of. I got 4 racks of ribs , 2 tri tips and some sausages, getting hungry now.

It's been a strange week, came back to work on Tuesday to find out our company was sold again. Noting is supposed to change. Would be nice if we got better pay, but I won't hold my breath. One of our Saws is down so not much work going on. Going to get busy next week, lots of orders waiting for the saw to get fixed. I spent most of the week doing busy work.

Fiddy, and Pop , you guys are putting in some serious steps. Mabey a fit bit would be a good thing for me.

I got 14 of 16 seeds above ground so far . I am excited to start working through my seed stash. Now I find myself looking for new packs, I really want to try the frosted cherry cookies from relentless. I am going to throw my name out their to test some stuff for some breeders here. I am going to focus on finding the next elite cut.

Fiddynuts sorry to hear yuo got jacked on the seeds, I am assuming it was a private Party and not a seed bank. I am with you on not wanting to order from overseas. I ordered some autos from, Herbies a few years ago.befor I found glg, and James bean company. I have a buddy who had a 16 lighter, for years. He is scared to run seeds. He's a decent grower, but he couldn't keep the quality right. Always buying clones never keeping anything in house. Always dealing with bugs and pm. I offered him some feminized seeds. He will wind up buying dirty clones for big money. I am going to keep what I grow from seed, or clones of my seed runs. I have to say Fiddynuts, I am a bit jealous of the camp. I wish we had a place like that on the lake. My family used to have a cabin here in the middle of town. It wasn't always the middle of town. It used to be wide open, the cabin was motorcycle central. My grandma's 2nd husband's family owned it , along with the loca l Suzuki dealership and a race track. They have all since passed. They left the cabin to a nephew, who was a pro racer for years. Now he's all fucked up. We think he may have CTE like the football player's have. He sold the cabin for 2000$. Now he's living in a van down by the river. It must suck to go f rom a pro racer to a bum.

Pop Rocks, hope you had an awesome birthday. Looking forward to seeing what goodness came from overseas

Rodehazard, Badfishy, and all the new faces here, hope you guys have an awesome weekend.

man, that must suck having a change in ownership out of nowhere
are they keeping the current management in place?
hope your birthday weekend is nice and mellow!
sounds like you are heading in the right direction, a good smoke is always a fun way to start the day
the ribs/ steak and sausage sounds great man!do you do use any marinate or dry rub on those or just let the smoke do all the work?
i would totally recommend a fitbit to anyone wanting to take steps to getting healthier (see what i did there?)
even if you dont get the device, go for a walk one day
take the wife or the kids with and just stroll for a while, even if its just around the neighborhood
that cabin sounds rad and it sucks its no longer in the family
i hope you have a great day p'fan, happy birthday brother!

I am assuming it will stay the same management, the company has been bought and sold 4-5 times in the last few years. Our plant manager is a clown, he gets walked on daily. I would fire half the damn people.

I rubbed the ribs with famous Dave's rib rub, the tri tip got some brown sugar bourbon rub. I am using charcoal and cherry wood for the smoke. I am going to fire up the small grill this afternoon for burgers and dogs for the kids.

I am thinking I may eat a few shrooms tonight, just enough to make things interesting. I have been digging the shrooms, but not getting the visuals I have been wanting. I am thinking about trying a bigger dose, mabey on an empty stomach., but not tonight to many people here for that. I know a few people who are microdosing like .5 grams, I don't see what that would do. I tried it but didn't seem to do much.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Happy Monday friends.

Another busy weekend is in the books. After work on Saturday I was able to get in a nice game of disc golf, the first in a while with all the rain we were getting. After that the wife and I met up with our neighbors at a concert by a band that plays grateful dead music and some of their own stuff that is similar. Good times and good people and great music make a wonderful combo. Everyone had a good time and it was nice to have a date night since the wife and I don't get out a lot.
On Sunday I decided to try to make my first "hot and fast" pulled pork. I've always cooked my BBQ slow and low but I've been hearing more and more that you can get great results at higher temps without having to cook all night. Cooking at 325-350 got a whole #10 butt done in less than 6 hours and I use to take 14-16 hours at 220. I think it's important to give it a good rest at the end to let it relax and I gave it about 2 hours rest. It turned out really good! It was also the first time I used just salt and pepper as the rub for pork, I've been doing my briskets like that but always used more traditional BBQ rub on pork. I will be doing the salt and pepper pork more often, it's a very simple seasoning but really good and let's the meat really shine. I made some jalapeño buttermilk slaw and some beans on the BBQ as well.

@pop_rocks. I hope the rest of your weekend went well and you were able to pick right back up where you left off on Thursday. How was the fish and chips? After doing over 31k steps on Friday I must say I was feeling that kind of good tired feeling in the legs and I don't think I could do 100k yet. Maybe in the future if I keep getting stronger it would be a great goal. But for now I'm happy that I've come as far as I have in just the last few months.
That's cool you won a contest and got some free beans and stuff! Have you read anything about that strain or breeder? 3 new kinds of weed to try and 2 new bongs to puff them with sounds like an awesome birthday! Sounds like you had a great time and you keep kicking ass too brother!

@packerfan. It sounds like you have a great weekend on tap brother. Tequila is a great way to say happy birthday! I hope your ribs, tri tip and sausage turned out great. Every time one of you guys mention tri tip it brings me back to Cali, and makes me wonder why I never see tri tip in stores around here.
You never know but maybe the right owner could make your workplace better, it all starts at the top and if they get their shit together that should help.
The Fitbit is just a tool for monitoring but is kind of fun and some of the data is useful. Like pop said, get the extra walk in when you can and do little things like take the stairs rather than elevators and stuff like that.
I'm glad to hear you are getting a good start in your garden. I'm rooting for you to find the next elite!
Sorry about your family cabin pack. That place sounds so cool, especially to a bike nut like myself. I hope you have great memories of the place at least. Sometimes bad shit happens to people and there just isn't anything you can do.
Did you eat any shrooms? If so I hope you had fun and a great birthday weekend!

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

Nice swag and seeds from sweet seeds. That should help keep you going for a while. The 3 kinds of bud look good too. What a nice birthday you've been having. Great! Did you say you knew the grower? Always nice to get a quality product right from th source.

We had a great time at the concert on Saturday. The neighbors we met there are the hippy neighbors I've been mentioning. They are cool, love jam band music and are fun to hang out with. It was good to get out we don't do enough of that anymore.

the three bud samples were good too, my fav is the project panama
i dident know the people who grew it out, but they were the friends of my friend
i talked to them but not about growing, they seemed really nice
i hear you about not really going out much, but we still find ways to have our fun
your neighbors sound like cool people
i am thinking we are going to have to go back to that fish and chip place here pretty soon
the fish and chips were on point and their calimari rings were really good
/best calimari in san diego for 6$; so fat, so tender
the mrs said we could go to this place called firehouse subs this week for dinner one night
so did you get your step total for the past week, f'nut?
i bet you hit over 100,00 steps easy!
next weekend is memorial day so we have a long weekend coming up here!
my other friend who was born in may is talking about smoking up some meat for his b'day, which will probably be celibrated over next weekend
speaking of may birthday celebrations, wheres our man p'fan
i bet he ate himself into a meat coma and then sealed his fate dabbing some of that crazy rosin he makes
may babies always go big!
