Hello Tribe
Its nice to be back home. The kids watered for me so I'm happy with the plants, all at about 20" and seven days into 12\12. I scrapped one Goji runt\male, but can't be sure of any of the others. Those LBL crossed with white skunk are the fastest growing and mostly all look alike so far. I will post up some pix when I can get the males out and have a little room. Right now I have 23 three gallon pots under a 1k HPS and its hard to tell much in a pix. I took clones of all of them and the dome is over full too. I expect to see some boys by the end of the week and then I will be able to make more room.
@Packerfan You said the Goji you ran was finicky did you mean hard to dial in or slow to grow? Mine look fine to me but are smallish compared to the Elfinstone. They all got a good dose of fish hydro and microblast with the switch and next is a drench with fish, silica and some koolbloom followed by a foliar of calcium nitrate and king neptune. I use Budrunners method of a cationic feed and foliar alternating with a anionic feed and foliar for the first three weeks of 1212. He calls it male energy for anionic feeds and female for cationic and claims alternating makes for a better frame to hold flowering growth. All his other advice has been solid so I still do this. I have added a half cup ea per five gallon of mix Phostrell and feather meal again to my mix and so far I like the result. My current mix is 75% Peat, 25% compost then per 5 gal I add half cup SRP, Half cup high calcium lime and one third cup gypsum. to all this I add about 30% perlite
@Fiddy I did have four bucks on Justify it was party odds so I got 20 back instead to the 10 at the 5-2 track odds. I don't have great handicapping skills like some but that horse has "it" whatever It is you know it when you see it. He could easily be a triple crown winner. You should watch the race on Utube Justify was 4 seconds off the mile and a quarter record on the sloppiest track ever at the downs. He broke the 136 year curse of Apollo by not running at all as a two year old and winning everything else. Mike (big money) Smith the 52 year old jocky said he tried to rate him but just didn't have the strength to do it so just let him go. Look at Big Money's silks not a speck of mud anywhere and the rest of the field look like mud puppies. None of the contenders plan to challenge him again as of todays news. Don't want no more of him.

Hey Rodehazard, when I ran the gogi and love triangle (both sno louts crosses) they were bigger than the 88 g13hp crosses( black triangle, and jungle spice) yeilded an ounce more per plant. They were finicky i had a hard leaf claw and the buds were not very dense. Gogi was made into rosin. It was well revived. I don't know if it was a ph issue or too much nitrogen. Those are the Most likely culprit. I was thinking it may be one of those strains that does better in soil. Organics specifically , some strai s don't like a salt based diet.

@pop_rocks. Happy early birthday brother! I hope you and the Mrs have a great time of it. Do you have a special meal planned? You deserve a couple extra days off. Yes spring is in full bloom here, how quick it changes from snow storms 3 weeks ago to a couple days close to 80 degrees last week and today. Just in the last week or so the trees and grass went from brown to that vibrant green that you only get in the spring and the ride takes place in an area that is mostly hilly farmland which is absolutely gorgeous. I'd take a pic and post it but it wouldn't begin to do it justice. I'm sure we have some more cool nights (and days) coming too, but I'm really enjoying these warm days.

@thejointedone. Thank you brother I'm glad you like this thread. I've been wondering if I should ask someone if it should be moved to the tokers den because we talk about growing but also so much other stuff. Let me know what you think.

@Rodehazrd. I'm glad your plants are looking good after your trip. Sounds like you have a packed garden! Can't wait to see some pics and hear more about what you find in those crosses. The snow lotus cross I grew (C91xSL) was really floppy stems, way more floppy than anything else I've grown and seemed to claw easily as well in soil. We know that I'm no whare near dialed in so maybe I messed it up on both grows. Buds were fluffy to medium density. I will watch the race on YouTube for sure. I don't know much about betting but it sounds like it could be a lot of fun. It should be interesting to see how justify dominates in the future but it sounds like he is a bad ass.

I haven't seen the claw yet I used the feather meal instead of FF grow big and think it may become available slower when I hit them with the calcium nitrate we may see it but the high calcium base I have seems to help tolerate higher levels of feeds. I read it would do that but am still fearful to push much harder. I'm mixing my outdoor tubs now and thinkin of adding some guano but these look good on the feather meal I may wait and do a top dress on the elf and lbl they are a little pale compare to goji I think it's pretty happy so far

Yeah Pop Rocks, I am the first day of Gemini. I have a ton of birthdays in the first 5 months. Like every other weekend, 2 last weekend. My nephew is a 21st guy too. Always makes it a bit of a sad day since the boys are still missing after 2 years.

I'm cool with leaving the jungle right here as long as it's OK to have it be a place where we can talk about all of our interests as well as the growing. I'm pretty new to forums and don't know what the proper etiquette is for that sort of thing but if it's cool with icmag to keep things the way they are than let's do just that.

If, for example I was to start growing in coco or another soilless method then I'm guessing it would be in the wrong sub forum and I'd probably have to get it moved or start a new thread I think?

I got a bunch of pictures of the garden this morning while watering. I will work on an update this evening after work. There is some good, some bad and some ugly in the garden this week. I've been slow with updates the last few weeks and I want to get back to it.

@pop_rocks. I hear you on not making a big deal of birthdays, the older I get the less I like to celebrate. But it's your day and I hope you enjoy it. Fud's burgers sound like a great bday meal. I like mine with raw onion, jalapeño, and lots of cheese sauce. A nice hike afterwards should be great as well. For sure it's always nice to get a new piece but I know what you mean about using the same one or two all the time. I had a go to piece that broke about a year or so ago after giving me just about 20 years of great service. Sometimes you just get a feel for one and it almost becomes an extension of your hand or something. But even old trusty was new at one time.

i have a nice fat bubble bong with the classic round bottom and tube top (rawwoh, sounds sexy) but she is a bitch to clear and hold a ton of smoke
another one is twisty like and while she is the largest piece i currently have, gives you a great hit and is easy to clear (both the bowl and the tube)
i grew up in so cal where we we snap the hit down into the bong, clearing the bowl
/as opposed to those who smoke the hit then tamp the ash out; ive even seen people put screens in their bongs
i like my fuds with lots of pickles, like i stack a shit ton of them on the plate in addition to piling them on my burger
cheese sauce is a must!
yeah i have this idea that at (where i work) they should give you your birthday off as pto
its the one holiday each year that is special to just you
(plus your mom, dont forget to thank you mom if you can on your bday)
/that idea got no traction at all

I can honestly say that personally, I’m POSITIVE we don’t all fall along the same political lines, but that matters none! We are all here to RESPECT one another and talk about whatever. The week is rolling for sure. With this nicer weather I'm so busy at work that the days just fly by. The majority of bikers are bad about keeping their shit maintained and often running issues show up in spring when they are getting their bikes out for the first time. That means we get inundated with way too much work all at one time in April and May. Just part of the deal around here.

You have a great point that a trusty piece feels good in the hand but also gives predictable hits and that's great for me. I tend to cough easily if I take too big a rip, probably from so many years of smoking cigarettes. Your bongs sound great! I've had a bunch over the years but now I'm too lazy to use them much and I've broken most of my bigger ones. When I say I'm too lazy to use them I mean I'm too lazy to clean them like they need to be because I hate a nasty, dirty water bong. I have a small water dab rig I use occasionally and a 1 footer that I use for flower. I use to love big bongs but the tall ones always fall over and break eventually and the ones that you need someone else to light because they are so long are just too much work for me.

I like your idea about having the day off work for your birthday and I think if I was a company owner I'd do that for my people. Giving a nice gesture like that makes people happy and happy people are more productive and efficient. And thanking your mom is a must, like you said, it's a big day for her as well.

Time for me to get cracking on this jungle update, and my bro just showed up so I'll be high as fuck in a minute, he brought some chemmy jones back from CO that tested 39% and gets me ripped.

Yes for sure we have a nice group here of down to earth peeps and I hope it stays that way. We come from far diffrent parts of the country and, like you said, diffrent political lines but we have a common bond in our love for this plant and respect for one another. So I have been using some 3 in 1 spray to clean up my clones, I guess it went bad because my clones took a nose dive after I sprayed them, i am hoping to recover them. If not probably pop the headbanger f2s I have

Good morning friends.

This update is long overdue. i could list some excuses for that but let's just skip it and get to it.

We are at the end of week 3 of bloom in the flower tent. This is a mixed run with 1 CC GSC, 1 red eye Jedi #1 and 2 red eye Jedi #2. All are clones of seed plants that I did not flower. The REJ #2 are clones of the same plant and are shorter and bushier. REJ #1 and the GSC are more stretchy and less branchy. So far these plants have been pretty happy since their final transplant a couple weeks before flipping to 12/12. They are filling the 3X3 tent pretty well and I don't think I'm going to run out of headroom. Here are a couple shots from above.


In the past I've been hesitant to prune the plants much, afraid that I'd piss them off or cause hermies or something. The last couple grows I've been getting over that. A couple days ago I got the trimmer out and gave the girls a good trimming up from the bottom. I took off a few of the lowers branches and some shoots from other branches. I tried to strip off the lower 1/3 at least. As we know not much good grows down there. I also have a theory that I get hermies down there in bushy plants because of lack of light down on that part of the plant. I can keep a better eye on what's going on down there too. Here are a shot from the side and one to show the improved light penetration.


These girls are in straight happy frog soil this run which is diffrent than I've been using in the past and I've been feeding light. They have been fed 1/3 of recommended dose of PBP bloom up until the last watering where I increased to 1/2 dose. I've only added 6 ml cal/mag+ in the last 2 weeks and I think that might be starting to show. On the REJ #1, which is the most aggressive grower of the bunch, I'm getting some fade and rust spots on just a few of the lower and mid fan leaves. They are the leaves that are right under the hood, getting the most light. I'm hoping it's just Ca deficiency and not some kind of lockout. I've been feeding super light to avoid imbalances like I've had in the past. I think I'm going to try a light dose of cal mag on the next watering. Here is a pic of the ugly leaf.
