Farmers Market for Clones in Clearlake..

Just stopped by Good Karma for the first time today. People were nice, clones were covered in Spider mites.
I'm keeping them in my garage tonight, and dipping them in Avid in the morning. Can't f-ing stand spidermites.

Anyways, i picked up a bunch of Violator Kush, and a few superskunk, and a Grape Ape.

Has anyone grown out the Violator or the SS? How are they for quality and yield?

Also has anyone delt with the Cherry Pez?

Sounds like they've been having a problem with a vendor/vendors bringing in mites on their clones. Shit, I just got done eradicating those bastards with a combo of Floramite, Azamax, Don't Bug Me, AND SM-90. :dueling:

I don't plan on seeing mites again any time soon. This creates a problem though, because I'd love to still stop by the market....but that sounds like a risk if there are spider mites there, I DO NOT want to bring any home on my clothing/hair/shoes/bud etc., especially when I'm not even getting clones.

This is not Good Karma's fault per se, as it is mainly THE VENDORS' RESPONSIBILITY to not distribute unhealthy cuttings to the dispensaries/collectives! This should be standard ettiquette in the cannabis community, DO NOT pass on cuts/clones with mites/bugs/diseases. The people up at Good Karma spray daily in an attempt to keep things clean and healthy; including, I hear, asking people straight-up whether or not their clones have mites on them before they take them in. It would be VERY hard to manually inspect every leaf of every clone that comes in, they could not possibly catch everything.

I made this mistake before, yes. :noway: I passed on a cut with mites...I thought I had gotten rid of them but apparently not. My mistake, I should have looked closer and waited longer, we live and we learn. Edit: I though I would add, just as food for thought - that I eventually replaced said clones w/ mites with new, healthy, mite-free clones at my expense (free of charge), which is what I would expect from others in this community after making a mistake like that.

they have cherry pez?! i have a bunch of cherry pez seeds that i popped and am in the process of looking for a keeper. i'd love to get a cut of one!

Hey Norcal, sorry for the late response! I personally don't use bushmaster unless I need to, In my experiences it was very easy to burn plants with that stuff.... I have plenty of space up to my ceiling so unless I really need to I stay away from Bushmaster and growth/stretch stoppers. I've found it's better to break the neck of any colas getting out of control, but to each their own!

She sure likes to stretch a lot though....

We had some guy who brought clones friday from a good distance that had thrip damage and he picked them back up yesterday quite angry that I asked him to retrieve them..(just too much damage) We spray them when we get them but stuff comes and goes on a daily basis. Our clones are usually pretty clean and I have to agree that last week was ugly but fixable.
I suggest you always spray or dip clones before you introduce them to your room. Mites are the most common pest we see and I dont know a club in the county who hasnt had that issue lately.
Its up to the vendor to keep em clean and believe me it makes a difference on how well they sell so if your out there pushin clones the clean ones go so fast that we cant keep em even in this slow season.
I apologise for the mite vendors.

This time of year it is very hard to keep the mites off your clones and moms in Nor Cal. Especially in Lake,Humboldt,Mendo. It is just too hot indoors. Lets cut the ladies a little slack please. It takes a very diligent grower to keep the moms and clones clean right now. You will be hard pressed to find bug-less clones till the weather cools down.

Mid July I took a trip to Good Karma, when there I was warned about mites, they sprayed with a neem mixture per my request (twice actually) then still put outside separate for about a week after meticulously watching the undersides of the leaves. I knew what I was getting into and when taken care of properly you have nothing to worry about.

Side note...Can I get a cut of the GOB 9? The plant I got was already flowering so I didn't take a cut, but I'm kicking myself for not doing so. She's absolutely gorgeous. She's filling in fast covered in resin and surpassed the Katatonics already. The smell is like a deep old school funk that I can't even explain with the best vocabulary. And the colors!?! Actually I have some pics so you can see the progress and mind you the pictures are about ten days old and she's been filling in a lot in that short amount of time.

I love the ladies and gents at Good Karma and you have a life long loyal customer- patient. I would never put blame on them for something such as mites, things happen and I know there's no maliciousness on Good Karma's fault. I'm in the boat of the blame the venders. Hopefully this just makes those trying to vend to GK more aware that cleanliness is absolutely needed and something closely watched from here on out by the people at Good Karma and the patients who look to pick up genetics.

Unknown, we are tring to keep GOB-9 going. looks like a good canadate for reveg. Leave the two lowest branches, give full daylight + two hours in the middle of the night. you might want to pic some of the flowers back also.

That's B.S. bro. I'm in Norcal for decades, and we have no problem keeping the mites off our plants. A lot of those clones were covered in mites from top to bottom. That is just straight up lack of effort to control them, let alone keep the mites off them.

Hey Mike, I just looked at some of your threads and it looks like you show your plants lots of love. I am sure you are very on it with keeping the mites off your beauties. What I really should have said was a lot of people around here are more focused on their outdoors and neglecting their clones and moms right now. It sounds like a lot of vendors are bringing crappy clones in to the market right now and it is a shame that the ladies don't have enough supply to just keep the best around.

I feel you. Not trying to come off like i'm better than anybody. I don't deal with any outdoor. We focus real hard on keeping the indoor ladies in the healthiest form.
This was my first time going to get cuts from an outside source, because i had heard Good Karma had some good genetics.
I was just a little dissapointed to find so many bugs. I tried to get a little info on the genetics from the guy working there, and he had no help for me at all. I asked him probably 5 different questions about the strains, and he just shrugged his shoulders to every question, like he had no clue.
Like i said before, the people were nice, the place had a pretty descent vibe but, overall, i left pretty bummed.
I'll def go back some day, and try again.

We are famous for our selection of genetics but we cant please everyone.. Mites are something you deal with from time to time. We have had vendors with mite issues all summer... that beautiful gob 9 was one of the mite covered plants when it came in and we sprayed it skokesalot took care of his end and now its beautiful. We provide a place for our members to bring their excess clones to make available to our patients. It would be wonderful if we got perfectly clean plants all the time but thats not realistic. Its up to the buyer to check them out. I know you are trying to make your point here and thats all good but they werent covered from top to bottom.. thats a huge exageration. They may have had stiple on the leaves but they had been sprayed so dont tell me about a lack of effort please.
Sorry you didnt get the experience you expected. We know most of the genetics and no one is going to be able to tell you the genetics on everything they have especially when they get the huge varieties that we get. All I can say is I'm sorry you were disapointed and let me know when you plan to make a trip again and I will try to be there and personally make sure you have a good experience with us.

I was there a few days ago. I didn't notice many bugs. They do not supply their own clones, they are from other members. You can't control what you don't grow yourself. No one can keep track of all the different strain crosses, especially when many lineages are disputed to begin with. ALWAYS assume a new cutting has the plague. ALWAYS quarantine any new cuttings that you get before introducing them into your room. It only takes 1 mite egg. A rubbermaid container with a CFL in it works great. Cover the bottom with diatamaceous earth. Spray with neem and stick a hotshot no pest strip in there, after a few days you should be bug free.

There were entire flats that were covered in mites. I have no reason to lie straight out of my ass. There were 2 other couples in there, at the same time as me, and they noticed and called it out too.

We know most of the genetics and no one is going to be able to tell you the genetics on everything they have especially when they get the huge varieties that we get.

I got the genetics that you usually carry from what your website usually states.
Violator Kush, Grape Ape, and Chem 91.

I didn't ask any specific genetic questions other than, "how does this grow?", "Yeild?", "potency?"

The guy literally shrugged his shoulders at every question, with out saying one word. I think once, he mumbled, "don't know".

Nobodys perfect. Didn't expect you guys to be. I drove a long ways, spent a lot of money, and gave a couple thoughts on my experience. Now your calling me out, like i'm some clueless fool.
I'm not going to keep argueing with you about what happend with my experience at your collective.
Good luck man. Hope you start getting some healthier cuts. I'm sure you usually do.

Peace

I'm really sorry and I know you are not a clueless fool for sure. We are all in this business together and Good Karma is what I aim to promote. Those trays were picked back up.. as I stated before. They were covered in damage from thrips and I acknowlegde that and its why we didnt keep them. I also stated that but nothing had mites from top to bottom. I'm not calling anyone out and I am truly sorry if you didnt like your experience. I will go the extra mile to make it better next time. We have patients who have been with us for years and follow us faithfully.. in truth you can go on the website and get a link to the genetics or see them here on icmag from some of the vendors. The Chemdawg is the one here on icmag in the pictures.. I've heard so many different things about it that I can only guess its true genetics.. and the bottom line is we have The Big Book of Buds 1, 2, & 3 as well as the cannabible 1, 2, & 3 right at the club for everyone to reference for genetics..
the Violator Kush..
Violator Kush is Barneys Farm Seeds strong, high yielding indica hybrid.
Violator Kush - a heavy cropping high THC cannabis indica dominant hybrid plant with Himalayan cannabis genetics. It is a plant with large green leaves and it produces buds of such a density that tying or staking will be necessary. Covered in trichomes Violator Kush has an earthy, musty smell and flavour. Short, bushy plant with a comfy couch-lock stone.
Violator Kush specifics:
Cannabis genetics: Hindu Kush x Malana (village in the Malana Nala, a side valley of the Parvati Valley)
Type: Mostly indica hybrid
Flowering: 8-9 weeks
Harvest: end of September outdoors northern hemisphere
Growing environment: Indoors and outdoors
THC level: 22% of total cannabinoids
CBD level; 1.5%
Characteristics: Short, bushy plant
I'm sorry and dont know what else to say except you cant please everyone. We surely do try our best though..
Even the plants that had all the damage were sprayed before they came in.. reguardless we sent them back because they looked so tough.
And remember that if you ever see something on the menu you want call us and we will hold it for you.
Peace and keep it chronic
