myman that is awesome, you might consider those pics a part of your heritage then. because that borderstretch is only 2 hours drive from here. 90% of it is in the arctic. so to me man, then you are blood, i could tell you all about the area.

seeing the landscape up there would blow your mind im sure, its vast, clean unspoiled wilderness. wild bear populations, wolves, they say the moose are as big if not bigger then alaska, and millions of caribou. huuge herds. plus some fantastic troutfishing. its called the land of a thousand lakes you know.(it would be called land of a million but we dont care to count that long here hahaha)

given your heritage id say it would be worth the trip, vast areas and much to see. all very modern, comfy and open. plus amsterdam would be your connecting terminal most likely on the way over from the states

which side of the border? sweden or finland? do you know the name of the place? i have been in every little back-country town there is in the entire northern scandinavia.
