More details in this thread here: here.
aww, shucks guys, thanks for the kind words, I love this place. :friends:
While basking in my praise, I noticed that the last pic of the tri is looking a little out of date.
Packn, she's still got the beauty spot, but she's looking good anyway
Please no one ask what the mutant decided. I just don't know what that plant is up to. I tried to take a couple of pics, but it kept hiding something and I couldn't get the details into one pic. It's, well the closest way I can describe it is, it fimmed itself after enlarging the 3rd smaller leaf. It's now a self fimmed tri. So I wont be killing it just yet afterall.
Still looking awesome GMT! The buds are looking like early Jackie Gleason and the tri - sheesh what fat assed leaves!!! U gotta love plants that love u so much they fim themselves for ya .
Well I just read the whole thread.....very cool ... I hope there isnt a test...love the way you have your own style and dont worry about what the rest of us are doin ..... keep up the great thread ....doin it your way .... gotta love it
Erm, MGJ- Jackie Gleason?
This Jackie Gleason?
Jackie Gleason, Richard Nixon, and Dead Aliens
NEW YORK - The clamorous cry To the moon. ALice" frequently delivered on the "Honeymooners" by the late, great Jackie Gleason, may have been inspired in part by the comic's fascination with outer space.
Gleason was an avowed believer in UFOs and, according to his ex-wife Beverly McKittrick, he even got involved in some spaced-out exploits with his friend Richard Nixon.
Beverly was 37-year-old divorcee with a great golf game when Jackie met her at Miami country club. Their four year marriage ended in 1974.
In her unpublished biography of the funnyman entitled "The Great One," Beverly, Gleason's second spouse, describes a bizarre trip Jackie took with the then President in 1973 to Homestead AFB in Florida to see what see says were bodies of four dead space aliens recovered by the Air Force.
The aliens were supposedly embalmed and displayed on operating tables and classified as top-secret material. Gleason and Nixon visited the base under extremely tight security, she says.
"The significance of the information is tremendous," said Mike Luckman, director of the UFO research Center in New York. "The four bodies that Gleason saw were probably the same ones the the Army recovered in 1947 at Roswell, N.M. We want to establish that link."
Gleason had a lifelong interest in the supernatural and accumulated one of the largest private libraries of esoteric and psychic literature in the country.
He even named his Peekskill N.Y. home "The Mothership" and had architects build everything in the round to resemble a flying saucer. Said Luckman: "Most of the furniture was circular. So was the garage, which he called the Scout Ship."
MGJ, I agree this guy was smoking something nice but?
And just wait to see the leaves on the off topic plant, you'll fall of your seat.
Babbabud, Thanks mate, no, no tests here, least not for anyone other than me. I learned from a hydro grower, and then had to try to create a conversion course for myself. After loads of research and nervous times in shops, I thought if I got as good as I could simply, then I could improve as I added each new component. But to be honest, if I got my plants to do any better, I'd need more space, and I don't need the extra weed.
OK, now that last post was a bit long winded. Sorry but I watned to know a bit more about this Jakie Gleeson plant. So I cut and pasted what I could find, which was really nothing of relevance.
Erm, right, update, both of the big girls are now starting to feed of themselves. The lower leaves that are no longer getting much light, have whithered. Some call this cannabalisation, but to me that would be a plant eating the plant next to it, rather than itself. In ordfer to resolve this, as I have no real nutes, I have fed them on 150% strength miracle grow. See if this is sufficient.
I'll post pics tomorrow as by then there should have bee sufficient change in the buds since the last photo's to make it worth while.
I suppose I should try to make an effort to tell you about lighting regimes.
The big girls have been on roughly either 10/11, 11/12, 12/14, 8/10, 13/14 lighting times light/dark. I'm always longer dark than light at this time to try to restrict the verticle growth. Not that it works to well, and the irregularity is due to an irregular me. I tend to do things when they feel right rather than when they should be done. Supprisingly this is rarely the same time for me.
The little girls have had a few extra hours here and there, but agian nothing set in stone, under a fluro energy saving bulb, at £7/3. They fit into a nornmal light fitting and the plants seem to angle themselves towards the light, Which is always a good sign when checking for suitability. Certainly not 24 hours or even 18 most days. But as I have previously said, that's not so important with theses plants as the oldest tri will be another 7 days till sexing, the OTS will be 8 days and the mutant is still 2 weeks from sexing, so there still time for veg growth to develop all those lovely bud sites.
Maybe even a shot of the mutant.
I never heard that story, pretty funny! The connection is he was a BIG guy, looked to be in the 300 pound range - just like your buds! His famous show was called The Honeymooners. Simple sets, outrageously funny, back in the early 60s.
Looking forward to the pics of the off topic plant - is that cannabis offtopicus????
I see..Thanks for the comp.
I also noticed your command of Latin, how very exoterical of you.
I tried but the pics are still rebuilding themselves now 24 hours after they started and there still not 3rd of the way through. It could be a few days at this rate so I'll come back and edit this once everything is sorted.
Ahhh, from a prior life spent in the medical arts... Sneaks into my humour at times...
Yup - the thumbnail and medium size rebuild is taking a while, whenever you're ready you can bet I'll be here reading  I'm hoping to post some pics this weekend, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed the job is done soon...
Ah medical arts, I think I've heard of a brithish chap who does something like that, what's his name, er, Damien Hurst is it? Or is that veterinarian art?
I love the animations you do on your thread MGJ I'll pop in on you once you get some pics up.
Thanks for the good wishes this weekend, it's turned out to be one of the best in ages. I got a PM from DG. She has granted me the honour of being one of her test growers for Dave Van Pot, the breeder of the God Bud which won last years best indica cup at the HT Cannabis Cup.
I consider this a true privillage as there will only be 5 of us with this strain. I have promised to be good and try to keep their lighting as it should be etc. but I wont be blasting them with nutes, so don't be suprised if mine turn out to be the lowest yielding, but I prefer to smoke the plant rather than nutes.
This will of course interfer with this thread and so I'll be running 2 threads for a while now. This and one in Seedbay Test Growers forum. The other thread will be the priority thread as Free seeds of superior quality and limited supply is a high payment to recieve for something I am enjoying doing anyway. Therefore that has to get the majority of my time, besides for a while they will end up as the only plants in Nania as I am stricly small time.
These may just be the best Indica genes semi-available right now and they are on their way to me.
- and thanks for the compliment GMT! And congrats to you on being selected a tester for the creator of God Bud! No worries - I'll follow your grows wherever they meander on the forums.
Ah now Packn, That was another of my promises when soliciting for girls. I am actually, although I haven't announced my intentions, trying to stabilise the trifoliate line so that I can be the first to sell (on a very limited supply) trifoliate plants. A little dream. But to do that, I need to be able to claim no one else has the genes that I am offering. Therefore just stealing someone else's hard work in developing a line wouldn't do me any favours as everyone would rightly have nothing to do with me. No, I just want to see for myself how far someone else has got their line, smoke an indica whose genes I have never tasted before, compare effects, growing patterns, structure, colourations and aromas. I have promised to be good, and I will be.
Besides, this guy won both HT and IC canna cups on the idicas. I love indicas. I can't wait.
Well all's well,
The new arrivals went into soak just, anyone who would like to know what flavour they are.......http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=12343
I am also contemplating planting another of the oftopicus mother's plants. The smoke from that off topic, although I slated the plant all the way through the growth until the last week, has to be the best tasting smoke I have ever smoked. An exageration, you may think, but no, I'm not hyping it, or me, and I know the next plant wont be identicle, I just want you to know how hard I am kicking myself over not taking a disposable clone from her on the off chance.
This of course means I am getting over crowded now, so I'm really hoping that offtopicus is a male so that I can cross him with the tri and kill him. While I'm on the killing fields, the mutant will have to go. I'm sorry, it's Spencer's law not mine. OK, slight tangent here but, a lot of people think that Darwin invented the law of evolution, he didn't, he just had more money to promote it and therefore proved survival of the strongest.
In 28 days the big girls will be coming down, so all in all I should have room for the new plantees.
The tri is a girl, hoping offtopicus will be a boy.
The mutant had an unfortunate hunting accident when he got separated from the group. Very sad.
But final.
25 days left on E, 28 on D.
Hopefully 20 on offtopicus and 60 on the tri.
The first Rhino should come out in 82.
Its a good job you can edit your posts, (see previous ), This shows both plants (E & D)from above,
they stand about 5 ft tall but that includes the roots. They are still feeding from themselves and have now gone past the point of any more food being provided. Another 2 doses of PH adjusted water (done about half a dozen of these with the rest unadjusted) and then fresh tap water all the way to the end. This should in theory give them a PH in the range of 6-7ish which is fine in soil. I figure a little variance on this will allow the plant to better deal with different minerals etc. which have their own optimum ph uptake levels. If I get it perfect, there shouldn't be too much pruning to do and there shouldn't be much left for the plant to process at harvest, making for great tasting bud. If I get the nutes too low, my yield will suffer, my bud wont develop and I'll waste 3 months of growing.
Oh well, and sorry for the edits, but I didn't think they were worth a new post.
