pretty much right away, they didn't get noticeably bigger to the naked eye after I added it. I would imagine it takes as long to kick in as an increase in nutes, like 2 days. I have had good results with 1/4tsp/gal I think. One time I put a bunch in, i dont remember how much, but it burned the leaves I think. This was my ES mother if you recall.

Hope it does the trick for you.

Found out why that "tester bud" from last night was so dry and still on the stalk. I had MOLD inside the bud!!! How does that happen, i keep it so dry down there, like 30% RH. anyway, it was one of the main colas (it had 2, fimmed) from the biggest (fast growing pheno) plant. I chopped that one bud and cut away the affected parts. The salvaged parts are drying. I hope none of the other buds have mold inside, none of them have the crispy feeling that the other did. Once I got it out from under the HPS you could clearly see part of the bud was DEAD.

Some thing I noticed chopping up that bud. The outside of the bud is nice, dark green and ripe, but the inside is all bright/light green, because it wasn't getting any light. Is there any way to avoid that? is that normal? Next time i'm going to fim the shit out of my plants to get smaller colas to avoid such problems. Any way, comments and "I told you so" 's welcome, as always.

do you have a small fan blowing on the plants inside the cab if not that will help with mold.you have to move the air around in the cab what is the temp when the light is off? you can make hash oil with the moldy buds if you get more.

I mean, i have two 4.75" 115CFM intake fans towards the bottom of the cab. And an bathroom exhaust fan around the top of the cab, don know how many CFM's, but no i dont have a fan blowign aroudn the buds, probably should I guess. When the lights are on I USUALLY have a vornado fan or whatever they are called blowing into the upper cab, its like an 18" fan. Sometimes I open the window if its cool out and put that fan infront of the window instead to draw cold air in, to try to get those real cold temps that are said to induce heavy resin production. Cab temp with the lights on varries with the weather. For much of bloom it was probably like 77F, recently with this colder weather the past week, its prob more like 65. Ya, I saved the moldy bud to make cannabutter. Never made hash except for that rubbing alcohol shit, but thats not real hash in my opinion. Maybe i'll look into it but i'm not trying to do that dangerous butane shit either.

damn, more moldy bud. Spread the calyxs apart on the second biggest cola on the biggest plant and spotted some mold, so I chopped that bud and salveged what I could. Then i spread the colas on the third biggest bud, and saw a little more mold in there. So I chopped the big colas from that one plant. The big buds on other plants of other phenos didn't seem to have any mold, but its deep within and the calyxes are swolen, so its hard to be sure. I didnt chop any buds from other plants, just the largest ones from the plant that produced the other moldy buds. This time none of the bud had started to dry to a crisp yet, so i caught it a bit earlier, but still, moldy bud isn't good for smoking no matter how early you catch it.

I should have chopped 10 days ago when who ever that was dropped in and told me to chop before i got budrot.

anyway, my question now is do I chop the rest? I kinda wanted to leave it another 5 days and chop right before I leave town so It can dry while i'm gone, and because I can't burp the jars if i'm out of town, and don't want to bring all that weed with me to burp it.

So do you think I can let the medium and small buds on that affected plant go a few more days? and how about the large and small buds on the other plants that don't seem to be affected? Does mold tend to occur on a bud to bud basis, a plant to plant basis, or just affect the whole garden? advice please.

i'm not sure i know how you mean that. Let it go longer and look at it every day? Or chop it all now? I've already seen mold, so are you saying chop everything off every plant?

I wonder if when you are drawing in the cool air, you aren't drawing in wet air also, that is re condensing on the buds? IMO, the bud is going to produce it's resin, and any increase that may be had by cool temps would surely not be measurable. IMO, in perception only.

look at the small buds if you see mold chop it all if there is no mold on the small buds chop the moldy ones now and let the small ones go till you see what looks like mold.
I say its water on the leaves from the temp differnce in night and lights on temp if you look at the plants leaves just before the lights come on or a min or two after they are on and see water on the leaves thats where the mold is coing from hope I make since

ya, that makes perfect sense, I chopped some more last night, the stickiest pheno main cola had no mold, unfortunately I had to chop it up to find that out. THe second stickest one had a few mold spore sacs but no white fuzz yet. Its all very sticky, so atleast thats a good sign. Can't wait to see how it smokes. Hope it lives up to expectations.

the driest of the ES that has been chopped already is only half dry, but i smoked some of it and it seems to be above par in potency. Its sort of like getting the effects of ingesting cannabuter baked goods, but from smoking, which is something i've never expereinced before. Obviously we'll have to wait till it is dried and cured for the official smoke report, but the sneak preview is encouraging. Also, I have only tried bud from one of my 3 phenos, and the other two are the better looking ones, so we'll see what that brings.

EDIT:
just a better pic of the main cola from the sticky pheno that i'm always boasting about. Can't wait to smoke some of this shit.

Hey bud, I had two colas with mold in my last harvest also, on a sweet tooth cross, this was with 4 fans on it, right between two K's. Buds get over four inches thick, it just starts happening. I tossed about two ounces off the biggest indoor plant I ever grew, still got over ten zips with no mold, so I reckon I'll live. Looking forward to your smoke report.

Haps, hamstring, thanks for the posts. Still curing the first cut buds, its been like 3 days into cure, my last harvest had to cure for like 10 days before it was smokeable, this stuff seems like its half way there. Smells good though, hope the potency comes a long because the few bits i've smoked of it so far haven't been knocking me out like i expected. Haha, the moldy bits I smoked came closer to it. Stay tuned.

I moved em down into flower, in the tub i use for a reservoir. I'm gunna veg em out a little before flipping them, they are still kinda pale from being in the bubble cloner for 11 weeks. Also, i have those two "mothers" in the "mother cab" one ES, and one Jack Herer, unconfirmed female. I was thinking of flowering them out. Thinking of switching to three 4 gal buckets instead of one 10 gal reservoir, and having a sort of perpetual thing going, with space for two in the mother veg cab, and room for 3 in the flower cab. Was gunna take some pics of all the ES i got, but camera battery dead. I'd say around 6 O's of good developed buds, and maybe another two of moldy bud, or shit that was just so popcorn like, it wasn't even worth trimming. I'm gunna cut the lower growth off from now on like some people do. Pics soon i guess. It looks and smells good.

Really nice grow log, seems like you overcame a bunch of problems and those bud shots still look ridiculous, great work illadelph, looking forward to checking out those dry shots. Frosty for sure.
