I know its a clone only, but is it ecsd (chemdogs cut) Aj, the western mass cut aka mass sour/tnelz sour or something from rez early work.
as for lemon ecsd.. my guess would be it has stardawg in it, we all said that was going to happen back when JJ started

What do you know as the “ecsd clone”?
For me to answer that is like me asking you what every cut with a name really is and its true origin and actually nailing it
I guess the first person to grow it out and pass to chaco himself really knows the answer. i just follow the folklure of that being the ecsd clone lol

The ECSD (chaco) clone only varies from garden to garden depending on lots of diff factors...Watts, Heat, Food, Stress etc...some people get citrus some get hay some get jet fuel...I've had varying degrees of success trying diff things food etc.... Iv.e probably run ECSD more than any other strain I've ever grown it's been in every garden in heavy rotation.since the day I Met and befriended a legendary grower called Chaco in a quiet New England Beach town .The best ones for me when I've had them dialed have had a lot of lemony/citrusy very fuelly expressions and was very easily one of my most popular amongst friends...yeah if done right you can coax the lemony sweetness on top of the jet fuel bottom....
I was also wondering about lemon smell/taste first few crops, but then I can smell lemons a lot, like GWBush said, lemon sweetness on the top.. ecsd is lemony weed for sure.. best way to grow ecsd is in the greenhouse with plenty space for roots or outdoors just like Donald Malard, thats perfect for me.. 
Ive smoked ECSD and Original Diesel 100's times of many growers from UK,USA, Europe and never tasted or smelled lemon

I get loud dank Fuel/Gas but never lemon or citrus. Im waiting to see what you other oldtime icmag heads opinion.

Chaco's ecsd cut definitely has a fruity smell to it the majority of it's time flowering. It's only later in flower that it really gets that diesel funk on top. Whether you want to call it lemon or tropical fruit or fruit punch, it's in there plain as day. I have a hard time believing anyone who's grown her could miss it, it's the dominant smell. If you ever smelled a bud of her up close mid flower you know exactly what I'm talking about. How much is left in there at harvest probably depends on how long you take her and environmental/feeding factors.
orginal diesel is not ecsd
sd ibl is not ecsd
I got my cut from Chaco's hands before Rez even started the ibl line he was doing alpha at that time Chaco's cut is a mix of zesty lemons not sweet lemons and jet fuel gassy diesel
maybe you got mislabeled cut man dont know what to tell you.
I haven't grown Chaco's cut only AJ and ECSD.
AJ has the fruity smell that Scrappy described Chaco's as having, def pure gas no fruitiness when smoked.
ECSD from Chemdog has a skunky funk smell no fruit at all and to me a taste like raw carrots on the inhale with a pure gas exhale.
My keeper ECSD ibl was a fruity grapefruit with a touch of gas.. flavor wise she was my favorite but high was super strong and super short like 45 mins.
OH by the way GWB alpha was after ibl.. alpha = ecsd x ibl.

I got a cut labeled AJ that turned out to be the same exact one as chaco's except it had variegation on the leaves. So your AJ might be ECSD and your ECSD might be who knows what.
My AJ cut got variegation in flower. My ecsd came from Chemdog at the same time he gave it the rez.
I will have to grab the Chaco cut off my growmie
On another note Does anyone have the RiRi cut..thats the 1 I want for a lil personal seed run.
whatever you say man but Rez NEVER released a sdibl till years after the Alpha so obviously The cut I got from Chaco is not SDibl
i might be off on the timeline....i got the chaco cut about 2010 2011 Rez at the time was the big hype name being thrown around with the ecsd so i checked his seed variety there was alpha bchem dd and a strawberry diesel ...I got offered the cut...so i didn't need to mess with Rez.maybe the sdibl was already being worked and sold but it wasn't listed at the time i explored his varieties..so that's the extent of my knowledge on REz gear
