This is what you get when you starve plants (flush well) at the end, and dry (kill) the buds quickly... The soiless mix and pure organic fertilizers also help  This bud was still dank dank dank, but it smoked all the way down - and was clean and tasty on every hit. Oh, BTW, this is the bud I harvested 2 days ago  I have a theory that buds reward the grower kindly if he kills them mercifully/quickly. I dry my herb to barely smokeable in 2-4 days, then jar or otherwise seal them in a container to allow the inner moisture to seep out into the dryer outter edges of the bud. Open the container at least once a day, and not too many times a day either. Opening like this allows the excess water vapor to escape, allowing the herb inside to dry very slowly and eventually. This is the process of curing.
The herb in this joint was harvested just 2 days ago, was cut from the main stalk and put on a screen up high in the garden - out of direct light. The warm, somewhat humid conditions there are ideal to give your buds a quick, merciful death. Herb that takes upwards of a week to die gets (relatively) dark green and starchy, making it difficult to burn, and tastes less than desireable IMHO. Herb that's allowed to die quickly will stay a vibrant green, almost as it looked when alive. It also burns much better and is easier on the lungs. Of course, in order to gain the benefits of this method, you need to start with healthy, clean herb. If all the stars are aligned properly, the herb can be more than exquisite
