Never documented them, they were both ASC (dont think they're still around) Early Misty under a single 70watt hps must have been some hardy stuff! was a couple of years back.
North UK, about as far North as any sane person would want to go. Thanks for the chart, got it saved.
well im the opposite south coast, good to know theres another fellow brit here tho!
im using 70W HPS + 80W CFL's on a NL mum (25weeks old) and in a 3sq ft space.
should be gettin a 150W in about a fortnite....
are u investin in a PH meter aswell? i bought mine on ebay £21, correct to 2dp.
dont get crappy PH meters, they are only about £5 cheaper and wont last as long. ill PM you a good seller to look out for if you want.
my HPS, well i havnt got it yet, found a few sources but only for parts. it seems 150W's are banned in this country , i have found a few security lights but they are very expensive and more than 250W low-bays, (however 250W in a 3sq ft space would be suicide really), but i have found where to get parts and then ill just have to wire it myself.
well, if you are going to fork out for a budbooster, may aswell get the topmax and match the full range, organic would be a good idea aswell for a first grow.

just back from the hydro shop - let me tell you, 10 minutes might not seem long but its quite a journey uphill with 50 litres of soil in your bag! it destroyed me lol.
Unfortunately they were out of All-Mix but the guy recommended this other stuff they had, he assured me it was essentially the same composition as all-mix (peat moss, peat, perlite, worm castings and bat guano iirc) with just slightly less perlite. They didnt have sacks of perlite closest they had was 100L sacks of Vermiculite and I sure as hell wasn't going to lug one of them up the road
I'll give it a shot, theres not much else I can do. He assures me since the composition is largely the same that the bio-bizz nute schedule should apply but he did recommend starting everything at half strength and watching closely for any bad reactions.
Picked up Bio-Grow and Bio-Bloom, was going to get the TopMax too but decided to ask your opinion but I see you've already answered me above will get the topmax when its needed.
Two seeds with 1cm foxtails ready to go, will pot them up this evening.
sounds good, yes most hydro shops only 100L bags as i said, but most garden centres do 5L bags of perlite at about £2, definitely worth it.
what brand is the soil you bought? as its got bat guano already in they hydro-guy is right, feed at half strength or less. id say only feed 1ml/L bio-grow at about the 10-14 day mark. top-max will be a good trump card aswell, should be worth it but you wont need it for another 6 weeks or so. btw... did they have bio-heaven there? its a new thing from the bio-bizz range, its a supplement to give your plants full of amino-acids and stuff i think. i saw it on the bio-bizz site but havnt seen it in shops as of yet.
to be honest 2 girls should be more than enough for you to handle on your first serious grow. i take it the others are dead, i did have much the same symptoms years back and it was due to not planting the seeds deep enough. mark ~12mm on a pencil tip and poke a hole with that when putting the seeds in.
let us know how things go. good luck

EDIT: do you want the links to the PH meter and 150W control gear?
Didn't see any Bio-Heaven but then its all behind the counter, will ask them about it next time i'm in. Unfortunately they're moving premises next week so its going to be a bit less convenient!
These were planted around 1cm deep but had a tendancy to 'float' up a little in the wet soil, will make sure that my new ones are deep enough Of the last batch the only one still alive is the one I took the photo of with what I assume is nute burn, cotyledons are starting to dry up though and I dont imagine it'll pull through.
You're right, two should be fine and it gives me the chance of making the screens for each plant a little bigger and they'll each of their own 70watt HPS and 2 20watt CFLs, might actually be a bit more efficient.
Thanks for all the help guys, i'll keep you posted.... hopefully i'll get it right this time!
good choice .. ive hepled a friend who was growing DP's indoor and outdoor in 2004 , we had some fantastic phenos man.. really sweet/fruity/skunky weed with beautyful orange pistils.. awsome smell/taste.. good luck man im looking forward to see them grow
WAMEN! good to see u chiming in mate.
waydee ill send you some mail with the links.
yes a plant per HPS would be great, if i were you id cut ur losses and ditch the dodo. then turn all your lights off (the dry out the top soil making it harder for beans to break the soil). when you first see signs of life turn on your CFL's and leave the HPS's off until about the 5 day mark. its for the best. just keep the CFL's as close as poss.
of the old one its most likely that its roots not being able to breathe rather than nute burn (unless the soil was really hot!)
keep us posted !
Well the two seeds had about a 1cm taproot each so they're in the new soil, i've just put them straight into the big pots this time... hopefully thats fine. The new soil looks great! very airy, nice bits of perlite in there too. Yeah i'm keeping the lights off until I see signs of life poking through, each cfl is around 2inches from the soil surface so that should be adequate.
off topic but I have a Dracena Marginata plant that is showing some signs that its needing fed I think, I presume the bio-bizz grow will be ok to use on it? I transplanted it into the third unused pot which is a lot bigger and broke up the rootball as much as possible and replaced the soil with this new stuff... hopefully it'll perk up, its a really neat plant.
ok.... cant say ive heard of that brand but you know... its organic so it should be good (or i take it its orgo).
just a thought, how big are the "big pots". u dont really want to go much bigger than 4-5" for their first pot, otherwise the soil stays moist round the edge where their roots arent big enough and then the roots wont grow properly.

9"! WHOA! i really would have got some smaller pots before germing. but as you hav already cracked em u cant move em about til they are stable. i would get some 5" pots or something and put the girls in them when they have a few nodes on them. otherwise the roots will get starved of air again like on your other 3. dont worry, just make sure you dont overwater!!!!!!!
Don't worry about the pots. It really doesn't matter. I put my seedlings in a 1' X 2' tub and they are happy happy. Just be more careful about overwatering because the more soil, the more water is stored. I would not transplant down, just let them grow into the 9 inchers.
well... as i said it would be better to pot up in stages but you wont have any problems if you water carefully enough as unknownone said. otherwise you oculd hit the same problems youve already hit.
how much perlite was in the all-mix roughly? 10%?
NG2k
no local garden centre? a wilkinson? b&q? homebase? its really worth the £2. yeh make sure you dont water all the way to the edges until u think there are roots there. as i said roots dont grow into wet soil too well so try an predict how far the roots have grown every watering.
