My bug out spot is the place in the country. It is easily defensible with only a few weak points. I spent two years at West Point so I have a decent understanding preparing a defensive AO (area of operation). If I have to bug out from the city I just hop in my car and go.

If the currency collapses it will take several days for the reality to sink in and the situation to deteriorate giving ample time to adjust plans.

The "over-population" problem, is really, a child mortality problem, a poverty problem, and an education problem. Earth carrying capacity hasn't been reached, maybe the current paradigm has reached its limit, but with sustainable agriculture and energy we can change that.

In third world countries it is necessary to have as many children as you can, not only is the child's chance of survival slim, but the parents are poor so the surviving children need to take care of the parent(more is better), and they are uneducated(we know increasing education lowers birth rate).

my point was that the earths carrying capacity has basically been reached only as we are currently living .. which is unsustainable and requires big business and governments to pollute and destroy what isnt already to keep it going..

talking about third world countries is a misnomer.. for one thing they have been living that way for a long long time and because of the way they live they put far less strain on the environment per person..

our problem is how unsustainable our lives have been in the west for the last 30 years+..

by them having less children, more money and being better educated it will not sort out our problems on this earth, and frankly it just doesnt make sense, will indians in the ganges delta for example suddenly stop living in a flood plain and all get jobs in offices and have two children? no because they live the way they do and where they do and there isnt the work for them, so they work hard/die young and have lots of kids..

That's what I just said.

No it's not, Africa has a billion people, Asia 4 billion. Meanwhile America has yet to crack 400 million. And all of north America is only a half billion.

Nope, surely the problem isn't third world countries, I mean what's 5 billion mouths to feed?

Our lives in America are unsustainable because we import our energy and export our food.

our problem is how unsustainable our lives have been in the west for the last 30 years+..

See above.

Makes plenty of sense, how can't less, further educated, wealthier people help the problem?

Education doesn't necessarily mean sending them through western indoctrination centers, just a basic education of the world around, simple math, and health education is all they need to see vast improvements in standard of living.

If you suggest sustainable agriculture to Americans they love the idea but already hate the prices they pay for food.

It's the same with renewable energy. Greedy selfish consumers don't want to pay extra for anything that may help future generations.

They don't have a problem paying for increased price hikes due to petroleum costs though.

The common denominator of all these shooters is that they all are Progressive Liberal Democrats.

Not by that post's very own admittance... take your misinformation elsewhere.

The real common denominator is they were all overprivileged American males who thought they knew what the cause of their suffering was.

Much in the same way that some overprivileged American males decide to point fingers accusingly.

Chew on that.

PS The "Mom raised him to hate Christians" part really had me going :D

No, I'm agreeing that though there are solutions to our problems, the majority will remain willfully complacent and ignorant until too late.

I have little faith in my fellow man, that doesn't mean answers don't lay in waiting.

So we lie on the same page.

Dammit!!

I wonder when somebody will have a better idea on how to get people to care, I used to think they just weren't aware.

It's worse than I ever imagined... they are informed they just don't give a shit.

Yes, and it's just another sad page in human history.

Ever since we climbed our way out of the primordial muck we've gone through booms and busts.

I like to think I'm fortunate to see it for what it is in the macro sense, but it doesn't help me sleep better at night.

well it just isn't that simple that's why..

to start with north america could never support very high populations, the native indians before the genocide began were largely nomadic and moved to different areas during different seasons,, they never erected monstrous cities, which was probably largely a sensible cultural decision anyway but still the land couldn't support it..

africa is three times bigger than the usa,, if the us population statistics are even reliable then -- 300 million x 3 = 0.9 billion,,, and africa has infinitely more potential to feed its own people off its own land except for the fact "american" business interests and "chinese" business interests are tearing it in two making the worlds fruit bowl schizophrenic..

certain areas of asia have supported ridiculously high populations for millenia and that is because of the way they live.. you cant educate them out of their culture and civilization.. and they do produce huge quantities of food as well.. on second thoughts maybe you can brainwash them out of their culture its been done to us in europe pretty well and the american culture is the most unnatural fabrication in human history. still i dont think its education or money or poverty its the way they live and where they live, and always have done..

plus alot of those 5 billion mouths could probably survive just on the food we throw away in the west..

the booms and busts in our age are because of poor management by what should be the wise men running society, instead its a poisonous inbred line that are committing genocide, and it isn't the first time.. before this paradigm, the booms and busts were planetary.. it was those that caused the neolithic era and turned man into the ego possessed conformist scared sheep he is.. you wouldnt believe how much that is still used to control people all these thousands of years later.. but forget that it confuses most people..

you should go to india/china or africa and see if it is a simple as implementing what you say, because i guarantee you it isnt..

i see 1 out of 1 troll found this post unhelpful :biglaugh:

Lol, I don't even know where to start.

First off, yes north America can support very high population, do you know how much food we export? We are the bread basket of the world.

wusexports_1_.jpg

Our country supplies 25% of world wheat trade.

Native Indians is a terrible analogy/example, that was hundreds of years ago.

Africa is 50% arid/desert, so it does have quite a large population, and it's another bad example for you to use.

What is ridiculously high?

The booms and bust are human nature, not a conspiracy.

Why should I go to those countries, I never said fixing problems was easy' I merely posited that they exist.

And if you think I'm a troll for rating your post unhelpful, I guess I could neg rep you and really be a "troll". God forbid people be aloud to display or articulate their opinion, what are you the opinion police?

no the us food production is completely based around modern agricultural practice which is unsustainable.. it all revolves around oil.. from the NPK used on the fields to the diesel in the combine harvesters, and every component of the machinery.. so your argument is somewhat schizophrenic,, unsustainable vs sustainable..

also without oil you cant export shit.. or import the diesel and NPK and combines..

i dont think you really know anything about history if you think its just human nature.. you have a micro view not a macro view there..

its not an analogy its a simple fact showing you that without modern unsustainable practices you cant support that kind population.. and the area of africa not covered by desert is alot more productive without refined NPK and combine harvesters than america is..

you probably havent even been out of your own state let alone out of america so just dont assume that what you think based on what you have been taught is applicable to a place and culture you know little about..

..

My point is that we can grow enough food within the bounds of our country to support a far greater poulation than currently exists.

I didn't offer a solution to replacing the current petroleum driven monoculture, I merely am pointing out that it is possible.

I wouldn't spend too much time talking with them Architect.

We should speak on what possible is though.

If people won't care what is possible worth or can you redefine it?

Money will have to mean nothing for possible to be possible it seems.

yayy gmo wheat, soya, alfalfa and corn for the world,, great that will really keep people going when the hyper inflation kicks in..

plus the monopoly of the grain markets and the manufactured fluctuations are used to starve people in third world countries not feed them, so its pie in the sky..

and i was being facetious, though i bet i'm not that far off the mark..

lol just because someone challenges what you think, dont talk "with them",, that sounds about right mr mustard :gaga:
