Dood Floranova Rocks!!

Have you guys noticed that there are precipitates(<sp<) in Nova?

I used to use the stuff, but got scared when at the end of the bottle was these little rocks. :yoinks:

In the ask Lucas thread, he states that he used FNG into stretch and then did all add backs with FNB and got better results than just FNB all the way.

Yeah they're clear like rock salt. Probably pretty much the same thing as rock salt since the NPK is just various chemical salts? They arent a big deal though.

I mirrored my grow schedule after Lucas' recommendations that you mentioned and the results are indeed impressive. For the small extra cost, I can't see why anyone would willingly skip the Grow formula in favor of just the Bloom. Will Bloom by itself work? Yes. Will it be optimal? No.

Like I said you have to shake the shit out of it, then those crystals will be evenly distributed for a moment and you can use them at even strength through the bottles life.

I notice them already and I've only used a few oz so far of the bottle, I notice them in the bottom of the cup I dole out nutes into before dumping them in.

Follow the link in my sig. :)

Once you shake them up the way I've laid out it's easy to shake them for half a minute, let it sit for 5 and then suck up what you need to mix with.
No crystals precipitate out this way.
(You want them all to be used in your grow anyway)

I use a syringe and have never noticed ANY crystals in the solution or in the bottle since the original shaking period. The key is in the dilution. (check the link in my sig)

I've been using the GH Flora series for a while (micro and bloom) but I'm considering switching over to Floranova, especially after reading this thread. :rasta:
My question: Is Floranova truly organic?

I think that it is not, because it does contain some refined nutes/salts, but it is advertised as a hydro-organic nute. I dont believe it's any less organic than something like Pure Blend Pro, which is what most of the organic hydro users are using...
Has anyone run Floranova in hydro and organic soil side by side and done a taste test and noticed any difference?

I started out using FN Bloom only but ended up with Cal deficiencies. The Grow really is worth the extra expense IMHO. Use it up until around day 21 then switch to Bloom.
I've found that since I began raising the pH to around 6.0-6.1 when it showed deficiencies that it went away. After about 2 weeks, just let it get back down to around 5.8 and you're golden.

I ONLY use ro water. No additives.

Hydro-Soil,
Just bumped some NL girls up to 800ppm FNB, but am afraid to use 8ml per gal. They are 2 weeks into flower and are not showing yet. Do you think they can handle more? They just started drinking more the past few days, but do not want to fry them. They had a rough start, but now look pretty good. Gonna do a res change tomorrow what do you think? They are in DWC. Thanks!

Only the humic acid is organic. The rest are the usual chem salts in the Flora series.

Go straight 8ml/gal. You won't regret it unless you're using something other than RO water.

damn..you guys are convincing me to try out the florianova..seems very simply..does it work well in hand watered methods?if so,at what arte per gallon of GROW? 8ml?.....

also, whats the difference with the floranova and the floraseries?..one has the micronutrients..then why doesnt floranova?....

Thanks for your response. I wonder what makes FN so thick, then. You'd think something so thick would be pretty organic...

MOBB: From reading, FN will work with any method: soil handwater, dwc, e and flow.
FN Grow and Bloom are complete nutes: use the grow for veg and the bloom for flower. The Grow contains all the Nitrogen and micro's that you'll need during veg.

This makes no sense. They use slurry technology so it is a 1-part nutrient instead of 2 or 3. It has nothing to do with being organic.

The FloraNova is basically the Micro and Bloom, already mixed together. They've added additional materials to make sure they don't clump up and ruin each other, plus they've added a few other goodies along the way.

If you hand water, mix 8ml/gal of RO water, pH and THEN dilute to 1/3rd str with straight RO water. Water every time your girls need water. The nutes build up and keep the pH buffered after a week or so of watering so I like to use a neutral soil. (shredded bark, vermiculite, perlite and a bit of sand sometimes)

My mums are in soil so I generally just fill a cup and set their little 7oz. cup inside of it. Watering from the bottom up.

Jack: I just thought that it being more viscous means that it might have some sort of organic base to it, as if it were liquid manure. I have 3/4 of a bottle of Earth Juice Grow (a hydro-organic nute) that Ive never used (I bought a light and the seller threw it in for free) that is thick and smells like manure.

So I guess if I wanted to do organic hydro I'd have to use Pure Blend Pro or Earth Juice? There's a couple of other brands I'm missing...

The FN label does say it combines the best of the hydroponic and natural gardening methods... wonder what that means exactly...

From talking to GH, I think the only other part in FN other than metal salts is humic/fulvic acid, thus the "natural" part.

Does anyone know any detailed analysis data on organic dirt vs. hydroponically grown produce?

I'm looking to replace a lot of store bought garbage with home grown produce and would prefer to keep using FNG and FNB.

Are there any 'Organic Fanatics' that have lived on natural dirt grown produce and then noticed issues with deficiencies when trying FNG and FNB to grow their produce? (Shot in a million but I'm kinda cagey about my nutrition these days)

I don't know about organic vs. hydro, as I only do the latter. I do know that FNB in hydro is faster than soil. The quality is better than anything you can get at the store (artificially ripened tomatoes, yum!). I say you can't go wrong for veggies.

if you made a 1:1 diluted solution, thus making it half as potent. wouldn't you just double the suggested amount to add? also besides diluting and mixing with a paint paddle bit, I am thinking of straining the mix before i add to the res and putting whatever sediment that is left in a sock and just letting it seep in the res while it runs day to day. I will have a filter bag over my pump intake. I want to use this in my aero tub and i hope this will help with not clogging the pump or nozzles. what do you think?
