Today I kicked it hard, planted in a Runtz, ECSD, and Mac 1 today and mulched it up good.

It was supposed to storm but didn't and I watered the mounds hard and I can see the cover crop popping nice.
picture.php

I added amendments to what I tilled and retilled it. made two huge mounds and put a huge ECSD in one and a big MAC1 into the other.

I put a Runtz into a small spot, didn't care much for the flavor of this one but it's nice cookie.

I had space to pull my little trailer down with mulch and got a nice layer on them.

that's the SF Valley Breath growing out of bounds LOL. If I stand beside her , including the 5g grow bag she is shoulder height. Gonna top this plant and once she recovers and I have rooted clones I start her flowering in the light dep shed.
I'm at 63 days with the indoor girls , 2 of each Scout Breath, Pimp Juice, SF Valley Breath, all from seed. The SFVB might go a little longer than 70 days but the Scouts and PJ's are gonna come down at 70. One of the Scouts I might reveg but I did make F2's with all of them so might not bother and just keep popping seed :)
I'll get some pics of them before the chop.

Do you think the OGKB 2.0 would mold easily outdoors?? I noticed you put 4 in the ground. I know the humidity is rough here in were I'm at. I honestly never had a plant mold when I lived in Indiana....
...Heck I have trouble every year down here if I don't stay on top on thing's. Great work you do!!! Good luck

I wish I saved a ECSD for outdoors I've currently got like 6 huge plants indoors, 2 was kinda young and aren't getting as big. I should've saved one of those. I've only got a mom and several small ECSD that I'm gonna keep for the next indoor grow I guess. I can imagine these things getting REALLY big outdoors

1/2"- 1" rain every day/night for the past few days and the settled plants are finally starting to blow up.

I was listening to a podcast the other day where everyone said you need to compost rice hulls before adding them to a soil mix, had me kinda scared,
my plants have mostly looked kinda yellow to me so I'm going to grab some thing like blood meal for a top dress but they are looking pretty good I think.

Check out how the SSH responded after 4-5 days of bondage action.

I'm feeling like my soil mix might not be perfect but at least it's working and nature is providing plenty of heat, sun, and finally water!

I am almost finished prepping for the last few plants to go in, planning on bringing back the rotary plow to mix things up tonight.

when I built the last 3 mounds on the right I scavenged all the soil from the left side.
six days ago, look how fucking dry everything was...
picture.php

I still had a few hundred gallons of last years indoor and outdoor soil and I slowly brought in loads of it as well as more wood chip compost.
picture.php

every day it's been add to the lasagna in this last pile.
perlite, lime, gypsum, alfalfa, chicken pellets, compost, kelp, rock phos...
picture.php

I'm cleaning up my indoor space and all the old ammendments are coming down and getting added to this pile, old coco, neem, and some of the expensive shit that I was buying a few years ago when mixing for the indoor.

It's been over a year since I flowered an indoor crop, Greta should gimme a medal!

these plants will need to go a unit plus to match last years and I just can't see them
getting that big yet but I've done what I can and now watch and wait.

Rice hulls

Rice hulls

Chunky what's up with the rice hulls and not being composted? Is it that you just can't rely on the nutrient value from it? In my reading I came across some info from TH and it was recommended not to use rice hulls, 1 of the reasons being the attraction of termites. I couldn't find the/or any other reasons due to posts being removed. I am a little nervous as I turned 50 pounds in instead of perlite but the plants are pretty happy so far. As always thanks for any and all info :tiphat:

Nice. Gotta try that Runtz.
Keep hearing Pink Runtz is the one?

White Runtz won Emerald cup last year.

Just that they said they might suck nitrogen as they break down, I put down 400#s.

I've been using them for years as a partial replacement for perlite without any trouble. Now that I found cheap perlite close I'm feeling better about tilling it into the ground. :D

Sorry about the duplicate post. The Sour Valley is beside the OGKB and kinda has larger buds. But not as dense. I flushed them good and can't wait to harvest. I really can't wait to harvest. I've gotta seal this half basement better. I've had the basement seep a lot and the 70 pint dehumidifier is only keeping the humidity around 50-45% which I question could be higher. I also needed to care for the removing of the lower branches and just removed the dead leaves and other leaves that need moved

The other 2 OGKB had the buds. This One has under the HPS. The 4th pic is what the buds from 2 look like. I'd almost thought I mixed up a SV and OGKB but I'll almost positive it's a OGKB 2.0 that was vegged longer. I'll know when I smoke them and have correct strain in my albums. Heck they'll always be a ECSD, SV, OGKB 2.0 in my mother room. Trust me I'm excited with all them!!!

Looking great man!

I use rice hulls in my soil mix and never had an issue. I usually let my soil cook 3-4 weeks after mixing it up, but I have used the mix immediately with good results as well. I really like rice hulls, they do break down.. but slowly. They’re still visible after a full cycle. I really like using them and they definitely help with compaction. I live in an area with a ton of termites and never had an issue with them in the pots. The did kill a plant in had in the ground in the jungle before though. I would be more concerned about rice root aphids more than termites.

I hate perlite with a passion, dusty messy stuff that sticks to everything, floats to the top with watering, and grows algae pretty well. It’s also a mined product instead of a waste resource. It sucks for growing mushrooms and cannabis.
