Tutorial DIY STS Mixing/Using Guide for Feminized Pollen/Seeds R.C.Clarke Method as Base

Only 1 of those 4 plants was sprayed with STS. So it can't be the STS.

I flushed all females with 3 gallons of RO water at a PH of 6.8 and a 6PPM. 1.6 gallons of run off water was collected from each fabric pot.
The initial run off had a PH of 6.1 and PPM of 221.
Final run off had a PH of 6.48 and PPM of 78.

My medium is 4 parts Pro Mix Mycorrhizae, 1 part cured cow manure, 1 part top soil with rotted saw dust and 0.5 part perlite.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I noticed on the 2 reversed males, some stigmas got pollen on them leading to self-pollination. This happened about 2 weeks before I pollinated my selected 4 females.

Seeds are forming on the 2 reversed males.
Is it normal for the seeds to push out of the bracts and show themselves?

Just this guy, ya know?
Those some pretty pictures! I don't know if it's "normal" but I know my seeded buds some of them popped out, not nearly all of them, but it was something I remember seeing.

Those are indeed some pretty pictures, ty for posting. :)

As for seeds peeking out, I've seen them show up many ways, from tightly covered at harvest, to peeking out a few weeks into development. I would like to see a thread dedicated to the variables connected with this, I definitely find it to be Interesting stuff. :)

Hi Cvh, My gut tells me it's localized, but I use an atomizer so over spray is a strong possibility.

About the drops... does using a dropper work? On a node?

Here's a Honduran I sprayed the first time as soon as I started seeing flower during the stretch.

In my experience it’s on a plant by plant basis, even being the same strain there’s variables.
One plant can have most of the seeds out and visible through most of its maturation. On another plant of the same strain you will have to dig the seeds out to even know they are there.

Hey friends,

Its been a month since pollination was executed. I picked a few seeds to see how they are doing. Gonna leave them for the full 6 weeks to mature as I did the 1st pollination then the 2nd pollination 10 days later.

Freshly harvested seeds

Seeds felt moist so put them in dessicant for 2 days

Shells fell off... I believe it was the perianth...

A close up...

Testing germination rate or maybe if the seeds are mature enough.

Enjoy!

I believe nature designed the seeds to pop out.

If nature wanted them all to be ready at exactly the same time the seeds would be in a shell like a bean. .
How else would they propagate in the wild?

Wow, great stuff! :)

Apologies for being away lately, I'm rather involved in school and other projects. So amazing to see the results rolling in regularly :) Great job everyone!

C99#1 first sign of reversal thanks a lot DC!

Only sprayed 3 lowers again this time. Worked great on the #4, when I was done just removed the affected branches.

A few questions

A few questions

I waited really, really long before turning my target plant from veg to flower. I procrastinated in prepping my alternate flowering area.

The plant was really tall, and almost to the point where it was going to start putting out females flower, regardless, I think.

I sprayed once five days before, and then when I flipped, and I've just given it it's third spraying since then (so, 15 days ago went to flowering schedule).

No definite males yet. I'm spraying the lower 2/3 of the plant. I'm seeing the female "threads" all over, but much stronger in the top part vs the bottom. Still seeing some threads. Is there still hope these will turn male for me, or did I let that plant get too mature to flip it?

The amount of silver nitrate seemed really, really small, to start with, and then we further diluted it. Is that right, or did I read the instructions wrong?

If I do get pollen, will I be able to pollinate flowers from the top part of that same plant and eventually get seeds? Or will I have to wait for another plant?

Here's the best shot I have from one that has been getting sprayed, from about four days ago.

Make sure to coat the entire stems not just the leaves. Are you using the 1:9 ratio?

I'm coating everything, and, yes, it was diluted to 1:9.

EDIT: Just took a really, really, really close look at some of those flower spots, and I am seeing some pods! Whew!

Are your other plants shooting pistols yet? Takes at least 2 weeks in my limited experience. Once they show look out they will just keep on balling up. Careful spraying even mist droplets will make them reverse them you'll be pulling off pollen sacks until chop.

So, that plant, I'm spraying the bottom 2/3, hopefully the top 1/3 I can use for seeds. If there's a little bit of spray drift, I'm okay with that. Yes, robust pistils on the rest of the plant and even some on the bottom, which is why I was worried.

My "other" other plants? Different room, no shared circulated air (my pollen experiment is being done in a closet).
