Tutorial DIY STS Mixing/Using Guide for Feminized Pollen/Seeds R.C.Clarke Method as Base

Loving it. :)

Seeds take a minimum of 4 weeks to mature, and I try to go 5 weeks just to be sure.

I suggest 10 weeks, screw the bud, I want 100% done seeds that rattle. Also do not keep using pollen to get more seeds so some are dark and others still white or green, I pollinate very early, get less seeds, and better seeds that are all dark, they also can be stored longer if that matters. I know you can make seeds faster, and if you use them soon I bet no difference, but I can get 96% germination 25 years later in cold storage if that matters.

Since I use only one plant that is sprayed with STS and also for pollination, there's no way I would consume the flowers. So, I will let this plant go all the way to the end which is 9 or 10 weeks flowering.

Thanks again for the instruction in the OP and this awesome thread! I'm a first timer with using STS and this thread has been super helpful! After the seeds are dried, I can't wait to germinate a few to see what's in stored. Fun stuff!

BTW, next time, I will spray only twice and not 3 times like I did.

I often see sam responding in this manner, its humorous to me at times when others dont even realize. Flip of the coin, people are missing out on some good info potentially

I like the info, I just prefer the standard reply method. When Sam edits my posts directly I'm unable to sort the thread by ONLY Sam's posts.

2 Year Old Stock Solution? Stored on the Door of a Fridge? Oh Yeah!!

2 Year Old Stock Solution? Stored on the Door of a Fridge? Oh Yeah!!

:woohoo:
I've kept the original stock solutions from this tutorial for 2 years now, on the second to bottom rack of the door of my fridge. I mixed some fresh solution a few weeks ago and began spraying a stunted female autoflower with it. I had used the poor thing to test proper distances for my OrigLite LED and at first it was too close. Oops. :)

Today I had the idea to hit her up with Femmed Tsue pollen, "well before any feminized pollen begins dropping," lol yeah right. As I was dusting her thick flowers full of white pistils I noticed a couple open nanners, so you can rest assured the stock solutions do not go 'bad' very quickly.:dance013: The only downside I see is I was impatient. Yesterday I mixed a tiny batch with some dish soap and started the drop-on-node method on all her flowers. lol I'm expecting some tight-tight-tight pods, but hopefully they will loosen up before the plant dies (after the seeds are finished.... right? LOL)

I'll never get over being excited about nanners. lol Sooo pretty. BTW, I no longer recommend mixing pollen with flour or rice before storage. I've updated the first post with this info. Sam Skunkman says he's stored pollen for 25 years now and it works just fine.

I'm still waiting on mine to reverse. I've hit them 3 times now...which is 1 more than I planned on doing. Impatience I'd say. And I kinda fucked up in that i didnt apply any the week prior to the flip...but i continue to wait. I don't want to hit them again, I'm just going to wait and see. Made the mistake as well of hitting them during lights on and definitely fried them some under the intense cob light. Oh well! Cant learn if I dont make mistakes!

Not quite there on the catpiss but it's coming. I gave it no time from rooting to flowering...so its struggling

This brings me to a question. The black fire Chem clone...its ethos, it's a polyhybrid reversed, glue etc etc. I would expect this plant to be hermie prone, or maybe I'm expecting it. Either way, I do see some male pods, but on flowers I didnt hit with sts. It looks hermie to a T. Am I to consider all pollen from this plant to be due to the sts, regardless if it's from a site that got sts or not?

The link in my sig for feminizing cannabis has directions on collection, drying and storing for 10+ years. :tiphat:

Basics:
Collect
Dry Properly
Sift

Then use, or final desiccant dry and package for storage in a freezer. I've now used pollen stored with this method from 6+ years ago, and it works like a charm. :)

I have glass jars with a liter of pollen in each, as well as smaller glass jars with pollen in paper bindles so I can just take the bindle out of the jar without warming the jar, I do it with my hands in the freezer. I do not think it is good to freeze, thaw, freeze, thaw.

Awesome! :) Yes, patience can be difficult and you'll get there.

That sounds rather ugly and not something I'd want to breed with. If there's anything worth saving there, I would line it up for a huge hermie culling project. Massive plants and time/resources.

Pollen from a hermie plant will be hermie pollen. As far as I'm aware, the STS and 'natural' hermie pollen will produce the same plants... hermies.

Brickland Pollen from 2013

"Tsue" showing successful pollination last year, using Brickland pollen stored since 2013.

Here is a picture of what I'm seeing

Again it's only happening on flower sites I didnt hit. And appears to be at least 2 or 3 bud sites. Lower branches at that. Everything about it has me gun shy about this one.
And what's the third talking point in the write up? Stress testing! I dont think I will be continuing with this one.

Indeed, it would be cool to see one liter of pollen.
I back you, hellfire.
SamS, picks or it didn't happen! :)

Tomorrow is 'application day' and this is hilarious. Though I'm working on it, I have significant ADHD issues. I have this strong desire to apply today instead, but also wanting to keep a strict schedule. lol The T-3 nightmare came from being impatient and also forgetting. :) Too much, too soon, and now I wait for the silver to lose effectiveness and let better male flowers grow.
