I only use a 250 GPH with 6 misters and have it set as low as possible in the 18 gal roughneck, I have two of them, works great.

I see the 396 GPH pump is cheaper than the 350 GPH Mag Drive is there any real difference? is the 396 GPH (hydro) pump good enough?

Anyone have any trouble threading the red spray nozzles into the pvc? If the hole is drilled to the size of the shaft the threads are larger. Oversizing the holes would probably work but wondering if something is different.

Plain RO water with the clonex solution... also use the clonex gel. But I believe people have success without either. Check your pH and your water source, and I would highly recommend the clonex solution.

No humidity dome, light proof container, 40ppm tap water, hydrogen peroxide to prevent slime and rot, and a 13watt cfl. That is all you need. I'm at nearly 100% success that way. Add any nutrients and you run the risk of slime. My pump is always on.

I built one of these a couple years ago and it worked great--now it won't work at all so here's my stupid question of the day--is it time to build a new one? My big problem is the sprayers keep clogging & the plants go dry...bleach can only clean the tub so well, how often do people change out their tubs and piping?

Thanks & peace...now to find something kind to burn....

Just take out your misters and soak them in boiling hot water and bleach, or simply replace your misters and you should be fine.

I also take a paper clip straightin it out to get all the "gunk" out of them.

But im also having trouble cloning with not just my aero but also in my coco.
Right now im trying the "dead res" method of 1 ml of bleach per 10 gal of water. Here's the thread.

I took a fine threaded screw that was appox. the same dia. and tapped a set of threads into the pvc. If you use the higher grade pvc you will have more success as it is made from a thicker material giving you more thread.

I've also heard of people heating up a screw to tap threads into the pvc before inserting the nozzle. This will also make removal and reinsertion more likey without leaks.

Well, I updated my veg cabinet which had a low pressure DIY aero cloner in it and last night I converted it to a low pressure veg unit. Using Sch 40 PVC and a fine headed screw I drilled the hole and then inserted the screw making sure to not to start the threads crooked. This allowed me to simply screw in the red EZ-cloner 360 spray head and allows me to unscrew it for cleaning without to much damage to the delicate plastic threads.

For people in my situation where I don't have a local Hydro store it is expensive to get these heads as the shipping is almost 3x the cost of the spray heads. If they would only throw them in an envolpe...

That brings me to thinking it might be worth it to buy a lot of 250 and piece them out on ebay as the mark up is unreal...

Hope this helps someone in constructing their own DIY cloners..happy building!

Just a newbie trying to grow a nug.....

another thing about cleaning is these are basically self cleaning other than the plant sites/neoprenes. just run it after every run with bleach water in the morning and at dinner time clean it out(the tub pump etc) and run it with clear water overnight, replace water n wipe down etc around lunch time, make sure neoprenes are cleaned well with dr bronners or something that wont leave a lot of residue..bleach works but id avoid and you will have next round loaded in b y 4:20pm :)
these things are disposable save for the pump, imo. mine always collect dust and i build new if down for several months. its cheap enough to buy new neoprenes and nozzles once or twice a year.

point is, maintain your shit and u dont need to really unscrew them, ever. the pvc is dirt cheap, the nozzles and the pump are the onlly two specialty items. neoprene collars are nice too. those cabn go in the dishwasher if u have an ez cloner.

i just really wish i didnt need a mud mixing tub beneath the rubbermaid. and the cheap tubs made in china leach chems into the water that denies root growth. even rubbermaids are a pita, soif you find fiberglass tanks on the cheap totally go for itotherwise, if you can not afford an ez cloner this is the only option. and a damn fine one :) inverted lid helps but cant leave home for a day without it being flooded so a custom setup with overflow/sump pump of sorts in the masonry bin below could be best. that or a cooler setup i might try next, but american agritech style with net pots hehe

hey so ive been having trouble with percentage of clones from this. At 50% max. I used the exact thing every time. I tiny bit h202, RO water and it usually takes at least 2 weeks to get decent roots.

anyone add hygrozyme or/ and a root excell\ ( or equiv product) ?

Temperature of water is generally cold and changed weekly ph 5.8 about - 6.0
