Define a Friend

Why should they? Seriously...

How many losers do YOU hang out with? Do you meet them in their cardboard box under the bridge? Or do they come to your house for a meal and a shower?

People want winners...you do too.

I learned VERY early how shitty people are and how they LOVE you when you're a winner and dump you in a minute when you lose.

Sounds like less than stellar, character observation. Not to mention actions and outlook.

a friend is someone who will visit you REGULARLY when you're locked up...

happened to me. I had these friends I grew up with, went to high school with, were roommates all through college...all three of us grew up in the private school environment.

I get picked up for a stupid non violent charge and thrown in county for 30 days...out of the five on my list (my girl at the time, a classmate that could bring me work, my sister and my two friends in question), only my girlfriend and my classmate visited. sister never showed. my two friends never showed. out of 30 days, they couldnt find 30 minutes to see me (and the jail was less than 10 minutes away from our place).

my 'classmate' visited the most...just to shoot the shit, not to bring me assignments.

Now he's my #1. real stand up guy.

I hear that.
Spent years in Fed Penitentiary and no family members visited, because they were mad at me for getting into trouble.
I should also point out that one of my siblings was also involved in the illicit activity. I took all the heat and kept her out of it, but still no visit.
They are still mad at me 20 years later.
That's why I say that your dog is the only one you can depend on.

This is why you were right to say it. IMHO

I know a small game hunter that feeds his dogs every-other-day. I suggested this was animal abuse and the fuck head said, Nah, it makes em obey.

Wanted to gut him like a fish. The poor dogs were in a cage and totally dependent on neglect.

I can think of several cures for this trainin method. All of which will make JJ Justifiablely close this thread.

As a grower how do you define a friend. Not someone you are friendly with, but someone you would reach out to when it really matters. Someone who you would help no matter what time of day it is. Just curious. I know my answer. I also know I ain't right in the head.... Stay Frosty My brothers and sisters

It's a sacrifice for me man. I have no real "friends" outside work at our warehouse, and no one I bring home. No girl, no nothing. I just grow........ It get's lonely, but again, sacrifice. This is the only trade I'm good enough at to make a living.

We found that not having friends made us feel isolated and unfulfilled. Joined a bowling league. Can't worth a sh** but atleast have some social activity..... just sayin.....

I guess the saying "if you want a friend, get a dog", goes for growers as well as the POTUS. :bigeye: :frown:

I think it's even tougher for female tokers/growers...Most of my girlfriends from college "grew out of" toking and had kids, so I just don't have as much in common with them as I once did. And since I divorced the guy I met in college, things are kinda awkward anyways.

Because of our 'lifestyle' I am extremely reluctant to invite anyone over to the house; (although there is one couple we occ. have over.) Even though I have a med card, I still basically have the mindset that it's illegal. Maybe it's residual anxiety, from living in fear for so long in VA; but considering it's still illegal in the eyes of the federal gov. and the ever present risk of robbery, I'd rather not have anyone know where I live….......I would find it weird to approach another woman to ask her on a 'friend-date' anyway, lol. But, I do miss having a woman to confide in and do stuff with.........Yup, it's definitely time for me to get another pup. :)

I'm right with you. Wouldn't it be great if there was a secure way grower dudes and ladies could meet?

I got cats instead of dogs. Thing is, I have no other choice but to make this work for me. I have nothing to fall back on. (Maybe a lot of us don't? I can only speak for me.)

It's hard enough finding a girl to date, let alone asking for the "bro-date" to meet dudes.

It's hard sometimes, but for now, my ladies are coming first. Might always be that way, but at the end of my life, I'll know I contributed to the scene as a whole on a better level.
