i have family, i dont have friends. and im not necesserily talking blood.
family is someone you can trust, ive never had friends i could trust, not really.
always to happy to step on you if they saw an opportunity to feel more big.
i dont see the point of having someone around i can not trust.
people are not that interesting anyway, most are trouble and boring.

I think time plays a big part of it. someone could act like your best friend for years but if they fall off the map, especially at a time when they are needed, you start to reconsider what kind of friend they are.
I've found that there are many different types of friends in this world, most of which suck. A lot of people seem cool with fair weather friends or friends where they just go out to bars and shit with but don't talk about real world stuff. I'm not really one of those guys.

Actually, as I get older, I find that my dogs are the closest thing to real friends that I've ever had. A dog has no concept of duplicity, and is loyal to a fault. People? Not so much.

i find myself less tolerant of the foibles of others and others less able to tolerate the nature of my own.
unfortunately there is not much difference in my irl and ol personalities.
meaning i can be a bit of a vulgar,sarcastic,condescending prick.
not to mention our common hobby combined with my need for honesty places me in the unwelcome position of having to lie to people. those lies(like most lies)have a tendency to lead to more lies and a general sense of mistrust for both parties.
i find it's best for my sanity to avoid the whole deal and not let people to close.
i think people find friends at work and i'm incapable at a genetic level of being an employee for anyone for very long so i work for me and when i hire help i can't be friends with them...
but i'm happy with my limited circle.
they have all been tried by fire in one way or another and we all know we can hold it down no matter what.

Ill be honest, Ive got plenty of people I know, but I dont think I can class any of them as friends. I havent got that old school buddy or someone I grew up with,

I believe that a true friend doesn't judge, no matter what you tell them. A true friend is ALWAYS there for you, especially when you have nobody else. When I say there for you, I do not mean with money, but with love and support. I would put myself in harm's way for a friend, and I would have their back, except in a case of pedophilia. A true friend is someone that lends a hand, instead of turning their back.
