I know many my age who went to college and support Trump.

I have no problem with universities. Plenty of my friends went to college and came out just as I remembered them. I'm sure that many professors are left leaning, but most people have their views and that is that. I believe that how you grow up and how you are raised has a much bigger influence on your political beliefs.
My dad was so conservative I consider him a total fool. Sure he intends well. But has bought into the same lies as the rest. Would rather believe he lives in the greatest country in the world and as long as you pray to his God your cooperation can do no wrong.
actually age has more to do with it,most people get more conservative as they get older...i have met several of the old school genuine 60's hippies from the "further" gang and once they got a taste of real money and got older they turned into fervent capitalist...
depends on the person. in my experience, many that were strongly conservative when younger live life & realize that much of what they took for granted "because" was actually wrong. i meet MANY older folks that fifty years ago voted for Nixon and the "war on drugs" but now fervently hope that "they will just legalize pot & get it over with & stop ruining peoples lives." sure, there are those that still think whacking someone with a nightstick & putting them in jail will solve all of societies problems, but dinosaurs gotta be dinosaurs. every day there are a few less of them.
