Description

Monkey Balls is a F2 pheno of Tom Hills Deep Chunk. Hazeman had some F1 seeds to make this F2 preservation of Tom Hills creation. The weed is very strong and long-lasting. The yield of this plant is very high. Expect the flowering time to be anywhere from 54 to 64 days. This is another old Classic brought back and preserved for future generations!
Sex: Regular
Type: Indica & Sativa
Flowering: Photoperiod
Height: Medium
Area: Indoor & Outdoor
Genetics: Monkey Balls (aka Deep Chunk)
From Allbud.com: Deep Chunk is a 100% pure indica strain with unknown genetics that is best known as an “Old School” indica from Northern California that made an appearance in the early 1970’s. This bud offers a fast hitting potent body high idea of any classic indica strain. You’ll be hit with a surprisingly uplifting motivated head high upon the onset with a slight tingly sensation in your spine and back of the head. As the high continues, this tingling spreads throughout the body with a warming and numbing effect that leaves you couch-locked, sedated, and completely at ease. This body melt saps your motivation and leaves you lazy and lethargic, unable to move for hours on end and in a deep state of pain-free relaxation. Because of these powerful effects, Deep Chunk is said to be ideal for treating insomnia, chronic pain, appetite loss, and depression. These buds have medium-sized airy fluffy grape-shaped dusty green nugs with fiery orange fuzzy hairs and a frosty layer of chunky shiny crystal white trichomes. Deep Chunk has an aroma of sweet earthy lemon and a taste of savory mushrooms with an aftertaste of sweet earthy lemon.

somewhere Tom says the best hash-plant pheno is 1 in 100 beans best start popping (if anyone finds these links that would be great to link them)
I think he also said they were found in a hash import something like 13 seeds 1980ish ?
That was a land-race and after a open pollination I guess there was still some variation to be found
??? anyone remember this ???

Id definitely recommend looking for his dc famed hash-plant phenos in your pheno hunts

Remember when DNA released Toms x-18 bx and it was stated 99% indica ?
Pretty sure they called it X-18
1% sativa

I would consider DC a IBL inbred line f1,f2,f3,f4,f5 etc very homogeneous at this point

Inbred line means a relatively true-breeding strain resulting from at least five successive generations of controlled self-fertilization
or of backcrossing to a recurrent parent with selection, or its equivalent, for specific characteristics.

backcross.gif

Genetic Basis for the Backcross Method

In the F1, many loci will be heterozygous (those loci which had different
gene
alleles coming from the two parents). These loci will include the gene of interest as well as many other loci containing genes for other traits. With
backcrossing
, homozygosity for the alleles from the
recurrent parent
will increase at the same rate as is seen with the approach to
homozygosity
with selfing (one form of
inbreeding
). The formula for calculating this rate is given below:

image.php

Fig. 4. A chromosome pair homozygous for a gene will have the same allele for that gene on each chromosome. A chromosome pair heterozygous for a gene will have different alleles on each chromosome.

where n = number of bc generations and m = number of loci.

Not to sideline the topic but if anyone knows a source for Hazeman grow reports then please let me know. Im interested in some of their landrace strains. That Chocolate Thai and Malawi Gold sounds excellente:love:

Tom told me that some guys in LA started to make/wear/sell...(I don´t remember exactly,it was long time ago) T-shirts and caps or something...lol with the name "Monkey Balls " in them.Tom got pissed and changed the name to DC. :joint:
And as far as I know,Deep Skunk 9 is Monkey Balls x North Indian Indica, and Tarantula is Monkey Balls x Deep Skunk 9 :woohoo:

Well my package came today with green tape & a note inside by customs its not kwikseeds fault but this whole thing is just so stupid its not stopping or helping anything! especially in a state where its already legal yes i know it's illegal federally but thats just as stupid with in itself. This is the last overseas order i'll ever make again since its happen a few times before & you have to keep your fingers crossed & go through your week worrying if it'll make it, its hard to source deep chunk & landrace strains sold with in the US so i took a chance but never again i'm sick of this stupid bullshit.
That sucks man, sorry to hear your loss. I agree the whole thing is a joke. Technically I guess, people are not supposed to get or send any seeds or agricultural products of any kind, let alone cannabis seeds. I fully agree though, it is a joke.
