DEA playing Games?

"“Technically, every dispensary in the state is in blatant violation of federal law,” Sweetin told The Denver Post.
“The time is coming when we go into a dispensary, we find out what their profit is, we seize the building and we arrest everybody. They’re violating federal law; they’re at risk of arrest and imprisonment.”

The raids and Sweetin’s comments come nearly four months after Deputy U.S. Attorney General David Ogden sent a memo advising federal law enforcement that people using medical marijuana in “clear and unambiguous compliance with existing state laws” not be targeted for arrest.

Sweetin said the memo deals with medical marijuana patients and small-scale growers, not commercial enterprises."

Well they have to do something to continue to justify their existence in the US.

Time for the long awaited National Debate on cannabis to begin.

It's the only way to end this madness.

Don't want the DEA busting your LEGAL business, then LEGALIZE IT NATIONALLY!

Sweetin should be fired immediately. He is ignoring official federal policy.

He is a rogue agent arresting law abiding Coloradans, and stripping them of their consitutional rights.

Sweetin is the PROBLEM.

The U.S. civilian population needs to realize that they are the ultimate check against our government. When we stop participating in our own government it opens the doors to mass corruption and bullshit policies. The republican and democrat parties are doing everything in their power to continue their dominance in this government. If you want to change this shit, then start organizing and start interacting with the entity that you've created.

Back in dallas I knew about 5 real deal crack houses, every one in that neighborhood knew it, the cops knew it. No one did anything about it.

I don't know why, I just know they were literally selling crack and just about anything else you wanted and in the 5 or so years I knew none of them got busted.

I don't understand why the priority for these people is dispensaries with so much more going on in other places.

Actually I wonder if the hard drug use rates drop in states with medical cannabis.

Tired Feds?

Tired Feds?

Tired feds? They are tired of the inyourface, marijuana leaf in the window dispensary everywhere atmosphere in Colorado. After all, there are bunches of dispensaries painted loud green colors within a few blocks of every school in my neighborhood. The Feds are carrying out the Federal law about the number of plants that people can grow, even legally. They are carrying out government policy, and they are the swinging pendulum going the other way. They are looking hard at big grow ops, and they don't like the dispensaries, (but probably they are more protected than the grow ops...think 100 plant rule). There is a lot of word on the street that the Feds are going to be coming down hard on the big growers in Colorado. Remember what we used to do before Densterdam got going. We kept our fucking mouths shut, and we didn't talk on Channel 9 news about making $500K a year....or we did time and paid lawyers. I totally want legalization, and have supported it forever, but we have to realize that there is such a thing as being "way too out of the closet." I enjoy growing, but I do not put up billboards with my address or chat with newsmen about my $647,000 suburban farm house. Come on, think! If you want a revolution, remember it will not be televised.

shutting down crack houses requires real police work and it can be extremely dangerous, but even the police should feel some additional gratification when entire communities applaud their efforts? but this fed police action threatening denver and elsewhere needs our thinking first before further attempts at any action imo. the citizens in 13 separate states here in the usa have spoken so why are the fed police so uptight?

and the one thing i keep coming back to is the power that has been laid in the hands of a few that are loathe to give it up which includes our current administration. the initiation of the "war on drugs" is usually credited to ronny and nancy (just say no) reagan elected into office in 1980. this war has now raged for 30 years and like any other war, the usa has amassed this huge war machine to fight it. how many are truly involved in this war? and i am not talking only of the dea agent on the street as you need to include the personnel back at his office as well as in all levels of the fed government; the legal machinery required to prosecute and persecute and finally the bureau of prisons. not only does one need to compute manpower, but what about the buildings to house all of this crap as well as furnish with state of the art electronics and then the vehicles to move it around? and the police agencies involved in fighting drugs is not limited to the dea. the fbi, cia, atf, us marshalls, as well as the us military are all involved on some level. and this allocation of manpower and resources is not just here in the usa, but around the world. further, we have been building and fueling this war machine for 30 years now. making it bigger and better.

in the big picture, i see an army that has been built to fight this war on drugs that is second to none in this world. and it is primarily in the hands of one man; the prez of the usa. these drug soldiers flex plenty around the world but the really key thing is their ability to flex on citizens and residents of the usa. and those with the big stick are loathe to give up any of this power at any level and have convinced obama to be reluctant too. it is his police force afterall and there are big probs in this world caused by drugs, some not, but homeland security issues all the same. the lines have gotten blurred too and the feds like it that way. imo. peace-biteme

its simple.
mmj dispensaries are legal, safe businesses operating within state guidelines...=no risk

crack houses are ran by crazies with guns....and they arent afraid to shoot a cop...

now if you were a cop, who would you rather bust?
cops busting mmj dispensaries is like shooting fish in a barrel.

aslong as your under the federal limit whats there to worry about?

There is no "Federal Limit". By federal law its still illegal no matter what this administration says. Basically stick to rules number 1 and number 2 until it is legalized on a federal level.

Rule #1=DON'T TELL ANYONE!
Rule #2=DON'T FORGET RULE #1!

It is still up to the LEO on whether to bust you or not! The laws are still very vague right now so keep that frame of mind that it is still illegal even if it is legal in your state and you are in compliance with your state's law.

Now this guy that got busted is retarded. Why the hell are you going to tell everyone that you make half a mil a year selling pot? I'd go arrest his ass myself for being fuckin' stupid. I'm sorry but if you are gonna give the DEA all the evidence they need yourself, then you better start greasing your asshole, you just sent yourself to "Federal Pound-Me-In-The-Ass Prison" and I have no compassion for you, moron.

Keep it danK and pester the shit out of your house reps and senators to legalize it!

well said. great post.

The government has a vested interest in the prohibition of drugs. Medicinal cannabis is a real threat to them and they will fight any risk of losing their citizen control and off-the-books income mechanisms.

Anybody remember Gary Webb and his book "Dark Alliance", about the CIA working with the Contras to smuggle crack into LA?

He was hassled so bad that he ended up committing suicide by shooting himself TWICE in the head.

arresting law abiding Coloradans, and stripping them of their consitutional rights.
Common misconception at the base of this whole Republic/Socialistic fiasco.

The Constitution Protects your rights... the rights that you have because you are a living breathing human. The Constitution does not GIVE you rights that can be taken away.

Our current government model has been corrupted to the point where our 'rights' have been taken away from us because people aren't educated in how things were supposed to work around here.

When someone tells you to shut up and sit down.... and you shut up and sit down, you've forfeited your right to free speech.

Learn your rights and when they get stepped on... SPEAK UP! This needs to be done as a nation though. We have too many people that say "I don't vote because it doesn't do anything." They say this because they're ignorant of the facts.

EDUCATE YOURSELF AND PASS IT ON!

and Stay Safe! :tree:

More Obama Lies

More Obama Lies

Please see link below about more DEA raids. I would like to hear from all of the Obama supporters who still believe in his lies. Come on lets hear those excuses. I can hear them now, he has only been in office for a year, or poor Obama is being pressured from his cabinet, or he is trying his best to clean up the mess that was left behind. Please give me a break its time to call this liar out on his lies. Face it he is as big of a joke as Bush was, in fact there is a whole lot less differences between the two than what most people realise. If you like Obama then you should also like Bush. They both support/supported the wars in the middle east, the war on drugs, bailing out the banksters, expansion of big business, expansion of the federal government, expansion of the national debt, the patriot act, etc. I voted for Obama so don't give me your partisan garbage its time to call a spade a spade and stop making excuses.

Despite Obama admin’s promise, DEA continues raids on medical marijuana growers

On Thursday, a Denver news station interviewed Chris Bartkowicz about his medical-marijuana operation in the basement of his home. Bartkowicz, confident of his compliance with state laws, boasted of its size and profitability. "I'm definitely living the dream now," he told 9News. The following day, the dream was over. Drug-enforcement agents raided his home, placed him under arrest, and carried off dozens of black bags of marijuana plants and growing lights.

But according to 2011 funding "highlights" released by the ONDCP (PDF link), the Obama administration is expanding the drug war and tilting its funds heavily toward law enforcement over treatment.
