Dark Heart Nursery Clones

Dark heart website says as of 3 days ago. Damn, that was the easiest location for me. Wonder who will be providing them now, no clones listed on their menu currently.

I was over at Darkheart in Oakland a month ago. Pretty lost group. They let me cut open stumps from left over Moms. Wood rot, top to bottom. Callus never closed.

Went into their sorting tables where they make up good trays and discard duds of their clones. All the duds, 100% wood rot, no callus on the cut.

Then we started cutting apart "good clones". Less rot yet still no callus. Some of the necks were swelling up, meaning that the plant MAY or MAY NOT close up the infection.

RTF in Nipomo, same thing (they got closed down), Wave rider in Salinas, 100% rot too.

Only a couple of growers I know realize the issues start with the moms...

I was thinking of getting a Darkheart cutting to put some upcoming pollen on in order to explore the genetic line. Although the plants may be less than healthy, the genetics should still be intact and good for pollen chucking, right? (Thinking of using a grapefruit haze I made and cross with Darkhearts Pink Napali.... could be an interesting result).

Thanks Slownickel

Here's a macro of my NaPali Pink clone at 9 weeks. Stacks resin, not looking very sativa

I got that same cut. Haven't flowered her out yet. If you look at the genetics though I'm not sure where they're getting "sativa" its mostly made up of indica genetics. It's bred from several strains from the Hawaiian Seed Company. All of which are very rare genetics so either way I bet she's special.

I might snatch up 1 of there black jack clones ( suposed to have a piney oder) .I'm just concerned that jackherrer hybrids have to much indica for what I'm looking for with her.

Any one run her yet?

There wasn't any pink hairs the whole grow, figure it may need cooler temps? Clone was from Harborside, so should be correct. Aroma is piney arid citric, with a overfermented fruit undercurrent.

Calisun: i have seen it on clone drops this year. Can't remember what nursery right now. Next time i see it on a list I'll send it to you. Pretty sure it was one off those larger Salinas area greenhouse opps that brokers sell.

Right: i kind of think the black jack is lame. It smells like jack. Not as big and nice as the j1. Not very sativa at all. Can't figure out why they discontinue some off the strains they have (j1 and cherry pie) but kept that one.

I'm not at all impressed with their line up the past few years. Maybe the new pheno hunt stuff with Humboldt seeds will be nice.

@crusnyuba Thanks, I saw Kali klones had them but I wasn't able to get a hold of them for some reason. I like the J1 for breeding. It makes great crosses. The flower is a little loose on its own. The the vigor and smell really come through in crosses. Hit me up if you see it. Thanks again

Grew out black jack prior Good chunky cross looks heavy but head hit. Picked up some Dearl Heart cuts a few weeks back in Sacramento. GG4 Mirage Fire Skywalker Sorbet SFV Black Jack plus a PC Cut of Cement boots. They all look great. Have had success with Dark Heart Cuts. They came fully rooted healthy pencil -is stalks.

I bought two of Dark Heart’s “premium clones”, Purple Punch and Mirage. About $34 each after everything, and after six days, they have not fully rooted into a 4 inch container, while a Purple City Genetics Lemonade clone was shooting roots out the bottom of a 4 inch pot after 5 days...

As a matter of fact, the Dark Heart clones are not even close to hardening off after 6 days. I’d stay away from Dark Heart.

I wanted to get some lemon Terps into my seed library, so I went with some apparent lemon strains and the hype purple punch to add as well. Dark Heart isn’t legit anymore, sad.

Their premium clones were 22-24 I believe when I got them last year. Some of their premiums looked the same as their heartlets. They just cost too damn much. The dispensary in my town quit carrying them this year cuz they said Dark Heart barely made any room for profit for them to sell them. I hope they drop the prices otherwise I’d look elsewhere. I’m actually gonna run all seed next year anyways. Only ones I’m interested in are the newer ones from the 10k pheno hunt.

Ive gotten maybe 6-7 different strains from them over the past year. 4-6 cuts at a time. Out of the 20+ clones ive purchased only one of them didnt make it. When you root in rockwool you're bound to lose one once in a while. Ive found their work pretty damn legit to be honest, so far anyway.

I've ran their Mirage a few times now, and it definitely hits the lemon hard. I found that it's best to run it around 65 days flower for max lemon action. My only complaint about it is that the leaves are too big and Indica-like, I prefer more of a sativa leaf for air circulation and light penetration purposes indoor.

To update on this. I retract my prior statements about them being “legit” etc. they actually kinda suck. Ive literally had to take every single thing ive gotten and decide if it was a keeper or not. Always no. So far. I just got a good example of classic purple from their grape ape cut. The product smells great but lacks in flavor. Much like their bb muffin. Anyway. Out of the many clones ive gotten, a huge percentage dudded. I literally threw 3/4 of my grape ape cuts i bought away because they didnt move. Tiny leaves and short nodes the whole nine. Their fire og gave me plants w insane fire on one lateral and then entire sections all hairy dudded bullshit. They clearly have a viral issue and ive eliminated all of their genetics and i now see zero problems. Lesson learned. Again, i RETRACT my prior statements, they suck, theyre spreading virally infected clones(although, ironically enough, they have an article about the “dudding virus” on their website) and they also have a lot of unstable strains that throw herm action toward the end(strawberry cheesecake, gsc, hades and their bbm all showed some) not that thats the end of the world but notable. Feels good to get that out. They cost me a fortune for having faith. My own genetics embarrass them. Upward and onward!
