Makes my head spin at the combinations.

I have a fraction of the number of cultivars to play with and
am overwhelmed with the variety to flower for keeper stock.

There is much to learn about the terpene mix in the crosses
we make.

Your method and perseverance is astonishing, to say the least.

I have most worthy combinations figuered . if you knok up every strain with every male you learn a direction fast . now its just utilizing the data . i keep note books with all relivent data . makes it kind of idiot proof to a extent

Stalled due to lockdown, but now have unimpeded access to grow.

Lost the White Rhino Male held for years,
but have seeds from the open cross of
White Rhino x White Rhino to find keeper stock.

Lost the F2 03 02, but have many seeds from the F2 cross to hunt.

I will find the cherry again, no doubt.

Currently the thunk and BC 04 are held, rooted and
soon to up pot for production, the BC 04 is a good stand in for the F2 03 02.

The sensi star pheno was also lost, but again, I have seeds from the cross that produced that pheno to hunt.

My bet is that even better phenos will be had..

I got time, lol.

Folks can read about my efforts here, recent post:

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=294387&page=72

Thanks for the interest, you're a good man.

Epiphany for me

Epiphany for me

Wow!!! Glad to hear someone else sees this. Goldilocks zone.. LMAO.

The realization I just had was incredible! I have been tempted to write breeders and tell them their genetic percentages are off.

Going from the more leaves in a bract the higher the sativa ratio versus indica. Several books even have this as a reference. What type of expression is this categorized under? Does it even have to be categorized?

Maybe I'll just accept the blue ribbon on behalf of my soil and be reminded. That like painting a car. Preparation is 85% of the finish.

The common denominator????

The common denominator????

THE MAZAR I SHARIFF SEEDS ON THE MARKET THESE DAYS ARE FUCKING AWFUL n had 3 diff breeders mazar I popped all same time.. over 30 seeds and didn't find a single plant worth keeping . nothing was even close to a keeper.. and the flowering time said 6-8 weeks.. I had some that went to 13 weeks and didn't have any amber trichomes..

fucking terrible plants.

WAIT FOR IT?????

The common denomination here is your skill sets, environment and expectations.

Did you try one from each breeder in a keg cup challenge? I didn't get a pound a cup, these genetics suck!!!!

Maybe your mom should take your phone from you.

Sorry all,
After page six this thread got hijacked multiple times. It was so hard to sift through the garbage being spewed out.

There should be thread levels you earn your way into. So growers can have a topic oriented conversation

Again,

Look into Strains with high Thiol content.

That’s what makes the strong sulfuric/garlic/skunk oders.

Alpha Kronik did some work breeding specifically for high Thiol content.

oo that does sound like it could have some skunky goodness ;)

I was just thinking of making a post to see how all those 100 packs of ancestral skunks from sam were. kinda surprised no one has or heard much about it. truly a throw back to "the good stuff in teh 70s" lol as wasnt just a random columbian etc everyone pines over from way back when.

Unfortunately it seems either very hard to positively test for thiols in cannabis or something else odd is at play. I fully agree with the concept of thiols but have only seen one test that showed a thiol possibly from cannabis. My guess is that it may be a thioester/thioflavanoid/alkanethiol etc that may be coming up as other things in tests. There has never been a definitive study that showed thiols or any other constituent as being responsible for the "skunky" smell in cannabis that I am aware of, and if you were to find such a thing showing it to me would make me a very happy person. Alpha Kronik is, in my opinion, testing for "thiols" with their noses. They're trying to sell their seeds and I respect that, and I respect that they are even mentioning thiols, but they are almost certainly exaggerating about their research. Unfortunately. Whatever it is that causes it, it seems to be very elusive, sometimes evaporating before people can accurately test it say some extractors. We do know that cannabis loses its skunky smell and flavour more quickly then other strong flavour/smell elements present in cannabis.

All that said, I might reccomend pink kush from barneys farm/reeferman/underground seeds as a particularly stinky "kush" said by charles to be from the pre-russian invasion afghani strain known in BC as "King". Even grown outdoors it can stain your tongue with its strong skunky flavour with backnotes of hash, geraniol and vanilla.
As always, thank you for your work and dont stop the search!:tiphat:

Whatup dankwolf, been a while bro hope you’re well. Try out blueskiesvenna man, he claims to have the old skunk. Swami claims to have the rks as the 85rks. With your stable, I would be interested to see what you found in the search thru those beans. I think I’m gonna bite and buy some of bsv’s stuff to see for myself when I stack up some extra bread. Got some of last year’s red eye skunks and howard’s reds from nature farm deppin about to hit wk 6 tmrw, all crossed w the skunk 18. The most skunk I’ve found in what we grew last yr was duke’s munson which is the dominion skunk x nl5 from melvanetics. Reeks. Any rks coming thru anything yet?

Hardly 24 hours to read the entire thread...nothing like “a month”!

Incredible effort, Dankswolf, and a terrific thread!

Not on a hunt for any sort of skunk - can’t honestly say if I’ve ever had any, old or ‘new’, but your thread, and the process you share, is valuable! ‘Preciate you sharing your thoughts and the fruits of your work: I will be drawing on your inspiration and your example when I can finally make my grow dream a reality.

I have a wealth of bagseed stretching back into the early 70s if not earlier (and as new as the last eighth I copped), and my goal will be to bring those old genetics back to the gardens (and the pipe bowls) of the youngsters and the old heads. Some Thai, some Jamaican, most unidentified, but each one a treasure chest I can’t wait to open.

Thanks for showing your work; this is great!

The skunk/mazar is looking tight. MTF was always something I wanted to try but never heard of anyone who had a good seed line.

Like others have mentioned, great thread :)
