It's like a skunk sprayed in defense or because it was run over but......smelling that from like 100yards away or so. When skunk spray smell beautiful. In reality a skunk spray smell is deliciously perfect at mile away. To completely unbearable when at ground zero.

I'm wondering if we really want our flowers to smell like a Road Kill Skunk... It will take only 1 second of actual experience with a rotting skunk carcass to change your mind, I promise. Well, maybe if you were a vulture you'd enjoy it... Or a fly, lol.

Roadkill skunk smell and flavor, the one we had from a few sources starting right around 1980 was always delicious, sweet, and crazy addictive.

That's one part you don't hear about too often, is that skunk terps, and or thiol compounds formed on roadkill skunk, are very addictive, in that once you have one taste, no matter how stoned you are, you want more, and keep partaking, largely driven by a craving for more of the flavor. Its somehow more addictive than any other strain I have encountered; must be the thiol compounds.

And even if you hadn't had a taste for awhile.. I recall one time at a party in around 1988, i opened my tin of skunk buds and a buddy about 40 feet away, and 30 people, smelled it almost instantly, and barged through the crowd and was like hey buddy can I have a toke? I saw his face and his frantic searching look, then he saw me :D

Dead skunks smell wonderful at ground zero. At least I think so... There's something disgustingly appealing about the gnarly funk emanating from the poor perished pole cats.

I don't know man! I think your trying to get me run over!lol

I had a friend who said he liked the smell of his freshly worn sticky socks! Ugh

I like the way that sounds though... disgustingly appealing!

I've had a whole village of skunks GET DOWN under a house I was living in! I know it's not the same as there was more than one, but HOLY SHIT! I really think it could kill a person! For a split second I thought I was pretty cool. i thought I'd go to sleep and call somebody in the morning but after about 3 minutes I had to run out of the house like it was on fire and I was choking on smoke! I barley survived!! haha

I'll go get on my hands and knees in the middle of the street to take a whiff of the next one I see.hahaha

interesting, i've had skunks move in from time to time in a crawl space
thing was they didn't spray, didn't smell, and the field mouse problem went to zero
frankly have had more problems with human house guests

Hey hashmasta I'm currently researching thiol in relation to cannabis. Links would be appreciated if you have any thanks. Sorry dankwolf if this post interrupted the thread

All I know is there was research done awhile ago that showed that the roadkill skunk had thiol compounds that broke down to mercaptans on the plant i believe, which leads to the hellishly detectable reek. I dont know of any other genetics that have been tested for thiol compounds. I read about it here, so search here to find what i did.

I must agree nothing like driving down the a country road and smell the fresh spray of a skunk. Man it makes my mouth water lmao. But on a higher note my buddy gifted me an old seed stash from his partner who grows. A few packs were labeled. One was thai, Skunk #1 and lastly Skunk #2! I was super stoaked because everything i read said Skunk #2 is the Roadkill everybody is drooling over. Im geeked up to see if i can get these things to crack seeing how there 25 to 30 years old. Any advice on the germ of these old beans?......thx my fellow roadkill fans!

This cyclist froze when he saw these skunks otherwise he would have been the roadkill.

Funny sounds baby skunks make.

That's crazy! It could have been a real bad day! Definitely the right move.

Do you think they hear real well?

I would have had no problem completely freezing but the ear piercing scream that would have started as soon as I saw them prob would have got my hosed!

I wonder if they eat poo poo(shit)?

They might not have left for a while if they do?

pretty old. if they weren't kept in a fridge or freezer germ rates will probably be close to 0 I am afraid, but best of luck. I have an old seeds germ recipe i will share with you, for skunk#2 share in return ;) Myself when i use this method, i soak them in a shot glass for a couple days and then go to dampened paper towel under glass, but whatever. I am also not sure what percentage the H202 was. I use 20% and go a lot less than a 1/4, that seems far too strong.

"197caregiver's germination style:

simple version -

(1) In a spray bottle fill with 3/4 water and 1/4 H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide).
(2) Add 2 ml General Organics Bio Root.
(3) Use cotton rounds to place the seeds on.
(4) Put into clear baggie under light.
(5) 1 ml superthrive. Forgot this one so I had to add it."

Thanks for the tip my friend. Yes they were in a storage bin hidden in a caviar canister. Hopefully I can get something to germ we shall see.

Some member on here had a little germination system utilizing 2 small tupperware containers, anti-bacterial sponges, and an aquarium heater. He filled the larger container with water and placed the heater at the bottom of that one. The smaller container floated on top of the water and in that one he put two damp sponges with the seeds in between them...he had some pretty impressive germ rates with old seeds! Wish I could, but for the life of me I can't find the link...if I do I'll post it up. Good luck my friend...sending positive vibes!

Peace

Well i must admit this method looks like a must try. I haven't noticed D.S. Toker on here in a minute. He's an old school grower that has a plethora of knowledge. It won't be the first time I take his advice. Thanks for the tip Bud Man10 this will be the method I go about to see if i can have any success.

More than welcome my friend! Glad I could help.

Yup! I'll be using this method in the fall on some old Romulan, Island Sweet Skunk, Kali Mist and AK beans I have had for eons. Hope it works for you brutha, please keep us posted.

Peace

post some pics of those seed packs if you want!

@ Hashmasta-Kut Ask and you shall receive my brother. There are other random seed packs in the container that i plan on starting that are not labeled. I'm a big fan of the old school strains. These were the ones that were labeled Thai, Skunk #1, and Skunk #2. I also have seen people are wanting the skunk #1 back also. I plan on updating this thread with pics and documentation.
