DANGER! GLASS WEED

a month or so ago i posted on here an encounter with what i thought was gritweed...after relaying my experience to other smokers i know i received some disturbing responses. either we are getting paranoid or we have a grit epidemic in major Ontario cities as well.

various sources have shared recent experiences with suspicious buds and one was helpful enough to send me a bunch of pics he took through his 40x microscope. He provided 2 different samples in the pics.

One is confirmed to be grit (iron fillings, possibly glass also).


The first pic shows a metal shaving, this one was apparently obvious and visible to naked eye upon closer inspection. What do you make of it? he thinks there could be glass too. The last pic is another metal shaving which was more evident after washing the bud for 24 hours and then drying.



The second set of pics he sent me are what seems to be easy to find right now, hopefully you won't think it looks suspicious, but we need better eyes. Looking up-close at trichs is new to the both of us and we are lacking confidence in our convictions.

PLEASE HELP! What do you guys think?

These were the best pics from what he sent me but there are many more in the Grit album if you care to take the time to look.

This is the reason we got so annoyed at those jokers at Pot-TV Vancouver when they started belittling the problem over here in the UK/Europe. We politely warned them that the problem of contaminated cannabis was pandemic of the greed within global society, and would wash up on their shores soon enough. Sadly our prediction on this were correct.

To quote Dr Greenthumb and Chronic (the UK grit-weed activists)...

"You need to say "NO" to your dealer! You need to tell them to f*** off! ... it's destroying your lungs!"

If people see other people destroying what appears to be ok cannabis,, people will educate themselves and stop buying it soon enough!

I'm just glad you folks overseas are catching on to this !! :yes:

This issue seriously pisses us off... if we knew where they processed this shit,, we'd burn the whole facility to the ground!

Beware of the new contaminated cannabis in UK, no grit is obvious , very stealth contamination but the bud when immersed in water turns a strange brown/red with white powder floating in it, keep a look out for this stuff guys, grow more and dont chance buying on the street

This kind of problem is prevailing all over the world and no one can abstain from this. But especially whole EU is facing this problem.I am also the victim of this .I don't know how to deal with that.

spiritu from what i can tell that just looks like pot :) aside from the single shaving thats in there that may have fallen in by mistake.

if you ever come to germany... please never buy weed on the street!
in most cases you get shit like shown in this thread. most it's contaminated with "brix plus" which isn't too easy to identify.
absolutely disgusting that there is a product which is only developed to contaminate cannabis - and it's used very often (here) :(
this is why i began to grow my own...

im only on page 2 of this thread but i had to post.. its all you can get off the roads round here cuz its all people will buy too sell. people sell ounces of high grade for stupidness like £260 (apparently) and a henry (£20 draw) will only weigh 1.5 and it sells so quick there is no constant supply. so people buy 2g of grit for a score instead.. creating a market for it so ppl always spend their money on that instead

Very depressing thread. It causes scare stories in the press...and they love anything scary about cannabis.

So what can we do about it?

Look for the Grower Direct label on weedbay....oppps, sorry musta been dreaming of the world as it should be for a few moments.

'It's available' just ain't a good enough reason for smoking unknown substances...even if you get high.


- Flood the streets with high quality, fair priced weed...pre-packaged and vacuum sealed by the grower.

- Add a 1 gram red plastic 'Q' disk to each unit...Q for quality and a symbol that gaurantees the grower has not adulterated the weed? No disk....ya taking ya chances.

- Put a web address on the back of the disk where consumers can post where they bought it...not from WHOM...and how much they paid for it. Price influencing feedback to the dealers.

- Find the dealers who are selling the glass weed and offer them a much higher quality product which is more lucrative to them...provided they play by the rules.

- I'd gladly give a dealer o's for 100-125£ of top genetics if they pass it along untouched...prolly cheaper if the cost of production is low enough.

gotta be some better ideas on how to stop this.

What the world needs is good weed at fair prices. Not everyone is going to grow, nor should they. But that should not mean that they should be ripped off either.

I give away all my excess for free (grow about 4x what I can smoke)...so I have reduced the glass weed and soapbar smokers club by a few. But if I ever quit growing...they will return to their previous method.

The Choice: White Russian sealed by the grower with a quality disk for 200£ or unknown shit for a little less...I know which I would choose...and I'd have the best weed amongst my mates.

As I remind my team at work:

'we get 15% of our salary for knowing why it won't work....we get the other 85% for figuring out how to make it work'.
