I've encountered weed that has been hydrated with city tap water (after it's been cured and sold to add weight).. This shit made me feel light headed and always left a very uncomfortable feeling after smoking it (probably from the chlorine and other chemicals in the city water), not to mention it losing 25% weight after being left out overnight, resulting in super dry/crumbly weed.. Any organic material over 20% moisture content can sustain mold growth.. I called the dude out on it, and he straight up lied to me, getting really defensive and emotional.. CUT OFF...

Unfortunately I think I've just encountered a new type of contaminant. I've recently bought some weed that smells like the typical low quality commercial stuff that's common on the streets of England. This stuff has a planty odour, but there's also a light scent of some chemical in it too upon closer inspection. The buds also look slightly pale. I've smoked a joint of it and now my lungs feel pretty sore. I've got a bit of a cough and a sore throat. I can't see or taste any contaminant on this weed, but I thought I'd give it a water cure in the hopes that it would remove whatever this unpleasant substance is. To my surprise, the weed is completely buoyant! I'm sure weed isn't normally water-proof and buoyant, and the smell and effects of smoking it are also unpleasant, so I can only conclude that something is coating this weed that shouldn't be.

i think ive come across this weed^...seems like some type of neuro toxin to me as after smoking one had a very stiff neck and headache as well as bad chest...cant wait for harvest, buying in the uk is really bad these days, hit and miss. sick what people do to contaminate weed i mean its not for adding weight it seems...just out of sheer nastiness

We agree , the ppl selling this garbage arent doing cannabis culture - anything! In several cases even the "dealers" selling contaminated cannabis are NOT aware that their cannabis is contaminated ,,, because they are ignorant bastards or just plain dumb as ****.
Whatever,, either way,, negligence is never an excuse. In the majority of cases its adolescents that are smoking contaminated samples (and selling them) at over inflated prices !! and since our youth have no voice which is heard by "adults",, then we're gonna say it for em!
Until this thing stops... cause it's plain wrong,, in so many ways,, it starts to get long !

In my humble opinion this is worse than the paraquat spraying that went on in the 70's. I thought at first that it was local dealers messing with the supply to make it look better and boost sales but it appears more and widespread. Now it's even showed up in NY....
This is truly bad news for all concerned and makes me grateful that I have been off "the cannabis grid" for a number of years and am self sufficient. I think this is probably the way to go for all health conscious individuals.
This world never ceases to amaze me in the way people go out of their way to be greedy and hurt one another. Any idea where the origin for this contaminated supply is?

this sad that ppl have to di shit like this def fu*k em all an stay away from anyone being suspected of putting anything other than nutrients in their plants. it's a sign of greed and major disrespect. in my honest opinion they need to be stopped.

What a shitty thing to do....whatever happened to lacing pot with drugs....supposedly at one time people would lace bud without telling you but honestly I hear the scenario and don't buy it...lol cuz motherfuckers charge extra for what it is laced with, they wont give it for free...but adding plastics and silicone is gonna hurt someone....what could make people hate weed so much...lol

I noticed this thread started in only 2006. I had come across stepped on import bud in the uk several years prior to that.
throughout the entire 90's hash was very often impure. so buyers like myself were well aware, streetsmart. as mentioned I have personally come across hash that was cut with stuff like henna, boot polish, dirt/sand, some plant matter, probably all kinds of other stuff. pretty much switched to skunk smoking around 1990 simply because I was a sensitive smoker. everyone else seemed to be sucking in phat spliffs with dubious smells... I know for a while there was a lot of soap that I guess was contaminated by it being smuggled inside lorrie fuel tanks, when the wrapping split, or wasn't adequet, anyway. clear smell of diesel. just not the diesel we'd all later asociate with good bud.
skunk became readily availible throughout the 90s. tbh most people smoked hash around here in the 80s. Maybe because I was young and wasn't in brxtn or brummyland. so most people ended up on that.
shortly after that I started growing my own.
around the early 2000's. I had come across weed that had a grit in it if you bit a little piece. I was like wtf is shit.
I up until the 2005 I had encountered gritty weed maybe half dozen times.. after a few times encountering it, it had gotten sneakier. very fine silicate sand was actually easy to spot. and didn't look like resin crystals. then once I was swearing to peeps back then there was crushed glass in the shit. and saying DON"T F'ING SMOKE IT.
and once there was a fine metal shaving!
I speculated at the time, every one of those were an imported skunk. I know 2-3 of it was deffo.
of course it bugged me that it still sold like hot cakes. But my stuff also sold better, because I have mad good rep for knockout gear, and for being a connoissoeur grower too.
people were just coming round and buying bulk from me so i'd sell out in like a day... Now shit is rediculous. then it was basically sold before i even cropped. money up front like reserve! mental.
I could charge a lot more and people would be like "I was wondering why you didn't do that years ago"
even though the shit is soooo fubar, i think it has a silverlining for me personally(though everyone else is being fucked. Hard.) it has driven the price of ganj through the roof. I honestly feel guilty charging todays prices. people will pay over 160 for an oz, and pay with a big smile, especially if they know the shit is legit.
tbh I would rather to do normal buisness and not have to charge a virtual arm and leg.

For example people 'cut','step on' such small products like adding baby formula to heroin, or cocaine. The age old idea of barkeeps watering down the whiskey for higher profits. During Alcohol Prohibition here in the U.S., 'rotgut' alcohol could contain poisons such as: heavy medals (lead), formaldehyde, arsenic... etc.etc. The uncontrolled greed for profit that can be made off a black-market overrides any concern for others safety.
