Yes! I had ordered from them w/t-shirt several times over a few years, never had any problems. Last October I saw something I wanted from them but had heard about the seizures so I went for the guarantee w/o any gift thinking that might be something different from the t-shirt which is what I assumed is what most do. Bubble pack envelope with green tape arrived...SHIT! They re-shipped the same way, and, that too was wrapped in green tape when it arrived. Bummer.

EDIT: This was in Los Angeles.

Don't you just HATE that? Recall when orders went through Jamaica, NY....no problems then. Times, they're changin'. Tsk!

Jamaica NY isn't a guarantee these days either. Best vibes!

Guess the word is out on the way gear is shipped. Ordered from many using an innovative ship methods!! Probably should stay with them vs. the BIG DOGS that keep doing the same ol' thing. But then again....got enough to last well into next decade!!

It's more the principle than the actual seizure.

SBay....they have it down to a science....THANKS!!!!

I've never lost a shipment yet.

Is it possible y'all are ordering multiple packs and that just scares the shit outa the powers that be so they take em? Just a thought... I've only ordered more than 4 packs once. All other orders were 4 packs or less.

Also, I chuck pollen and give seed away but the TOU disallows it here so don't even try. I can be found under a different name, elsewhere. ;)

craigs list is sketchy... I wouldn't rely on it for seed at all.
I'm sure it's monitored and the porn links are the ones that have been compromised...

I got a Tude package around Christmas, went the T-shirt route. Came through OK, used a re-mailer.

Tried again mid-January. Either I'm setting a record for 'how long it takes' or it got popped.

Green tape is customs I threw mine away but I believe the tape has the homeland security emblem on it been a few months since I've seen it. Who takes the loss on customs destroyed packs of seeds? Attitude seemed to be fine reship after reship and kept asking if I wanted another resend they don't seem to care.

It sounds like they just throw the seeds away, and send the rest of the package with the green tape.

Or they just throw the whole thing away.

What I wonder is - do they keep the names of the package recipients in a database ?

It being 2014, I am getting real tired of 'Cannabis (seed) Censorship'. I was really looking forward to that Grapefruit.

@RoadRash-
Not certain if names are being in database. Possibly, or Customs may be too busy gleefully opening up the mailing parcel.

Do they trash the seeds or do they pocket them? Id be willing to bet that these powers know the costs associated with seed... So are folks buying seed for other unknown postal/customs employees?

Lets not forget about the Dept of Ag. They also intercepts packages. Had a buddy get an empty package w their call card in it instead of the seeds with a note about some kind of quarantine...

IMO, I think it would be wise to assume that names/addresses are put in a database.

Its up to you to ensure your security. You can damn well guarantee that your security is not in their (the powers that be) interest.

They reshipped once for me, which worked, and were entirely reasonable throughout the process.

I really think that standard letter sized mailers work the best, just because they get lost in the sea of mail, offer no clues, like a grain of sand on the beach. That's how the re-ship from the tude came through- plain brown padded wrapper envelope.

God only knows how many come through Customs every year.

So anybody know who eats the cost of custom confiscated packs of seeds? Is it the breeder, the seed bank, are they insured?

who eats the cost of custom confiscated packs of seeds? My guess, the seed bank....however, the cost probably is reflected somehow in price increase....customer eventually pays.

I have ordered many times with ASB and have very few problems besides customs taking them. But today after a reship I have some doubts. Here is why...... On them reships it seems like every time they are out of the original breeders pack and in a plastic bag with the label cut off the pack and inside of it. So I got that today and weirdly enought there were 11 seeds. Was suppost to be 10 only. To me that is wierd. Why, if the breeder pre packs them with 10 or whatever they are auppost to be why would I have 11?

Maybe a late night package count....11 seeds looks like 10 if you've been packaging for hours on end. I can only guess....yay...an extra seed!

Very true :tiphat:
......too much mail CO to CO, as a matter of fact too much mail USA to USA. With the USPS struggling to keep afloat you would think they would better things to focus upon and be grateful for the income :dunno:

Hate to rain on the parade..... but.... I used to work at USPS.

For what we are discussing, I'd use Federal EXcess, or UPyours.... They are not Federal, and thus do not operate under 1st class statutes like USPS does.

Believe it or not the largest problem the USPS has is the 'obligation' to pay a huge 'upfront' amount for us retirees. It's bad enough Union and Management went to Congress to protest the policy that makes them pay for my retirement lump sum till I'm 100 years old....no actuarial formulation involved.... as a Carrier, it's unlikely that I'll even come close to the century mark.

But NO, I wouldn't use the PO for something that's Federally Prohibited. They DO have their own enforcement division,,, who need something to do. Just saying.

Its not uncommon for a breeder to include a few addition seeds, despite being labeled a 10 pack.

Are packages from Europe going through CHI or LA en route to Colorado?

Based on my forum research, it appears CHI customs inspect most packages and are much more difficult to get past. LA is somewhat lax, but still confiscated occasionally. Very few reports of seeds being intercepted entering through NY.
