To have a double haze cross, like SSH and SLH genetics in her.... and finish in 9 wks.... is surprising to me.
The smell is pure dank and I can tell its gonna taste amazing. Stupid frosty.

2/28 Star Dawg IX male. He's up next to bat for making crosses.
Really excited to pollinate a whole plant of my Dank Zappa with this pollen. The whole reason I picked up Dank Zappa and the Star Dawg was to make a cross called Zappa Dawg.

I understand that you're just doing this for yourself but personally I would / do have more ambition than just crossing 2 things to to make a name. I'm not trying to bash ya, you do what you want to do for you, but if you're thinking long term genetics or trying to make something amazing that no one else has you should look for more than just crossing to make a name.
Two key questions I ask myself before making a cross are "What traits are you hoping are passed along" or "what improvements do you think the male will have on the female"? Essentially the same question but I have a list of some questions I answer ahead of time than look to see if it works when I grow it out. I I mean Atomic Bomb x Frog Fart would make a great name Atomic Fart but I personally have goals I'm trying to achieve when I make a cross. An old one I did Dynamite x Bubblegum I made in an attempt to shorten the Bubblegum flower while maintaining the bud structure but hopefully making it more dense than the original bubblegum.
I hear your point for sure but there is definitely more to it than meets the eye here. First of all I chose the Dank Zappa line because I was hoping to find some crazy Afghani, chemmy, burning plastic/rubber terps from that line. From my research I would have thought I could have gotten that from the mom in the cross. To my absolute surprise the females were the exact opposite with really loud laundry detergent smells. I was hoping to get some terps from the '86 UW Black Hashplant side of things but the amalgamation of the '86 UWBHP x '88 G13HP came out way different than I anticipated. Regardless, I chose to keep and work with the female that was the skunkiest funkiest end of the laundry detergent spectrum and that's who I still have. The male DZ I kept however was a really good yielder and smelled just like roofing tar on the stem rub.
I wanted to continue along the weird, acrid, chemmy, burning plastic side of things so I knew I needed some kind of male to work with and I wanted to choose from the Chem line of things. I got a hookup on some Top Dawg gear and ended up settling on the Star Dawg IX. I'm pretty intrigued with the females I got from that line but don't have much to say about them or the male at this point as they just came down. One female SDIX kind of lost her loud smell after chop but that could still come back after the trim and jar cure. The other one however retained her very loud and strong fuel smell that I find pretty addictive. So needless to say I'm very much looking forward to trimming her up and jar curing to see how those terps and flavors pan out after 2 weeks in the jars.
Lastly, I DID still want to make a cross for the Zappa Dawg name as it will be in honor of a dog that is in the family of friends so to speak. I already have plans on working the Zappa Dawg line if anything interesting comes up in the initial testing of F1s.
So there you have it. A little long winded but I hope that I demonstrated that there was a little more going on than just simply making a cross for the name. FWIW I can't stand the vast majority of Frank Zappa's music either.
*Edit* I realize now that I did say that was the only reason I did that. Sorry for the confusion but I did that to keep things short and sweet and avoid having to type up a post like the one I just did.
I remember when there was 10-15 companies that had 50 of the same strains... When lowryder was the most unique\respectable thing to come out, and c99 was becoming a big hit even though its nothing more than Jack Herer...
Every market in capitalism is more contaminated with bullshit than ever. Its better than being dominated\smothered though, but the problem is the consumer not the producer. All we have to do is stop buying bullshit....
I don't see anything wrong with anything, except my own actions, and I try to adjust myself in hopes others relate to similar moral values.
Just love, problems will be solved. Hate creates problems.
