When we were kids it came in threes.
Would get paddled at school - in front of the class, then go home where mom would get the belt out.
When pop got home, he would lay on the real ass whipping.

I didn't get mine beat often. But I provided no shortage of reasons. I was not a terrible kid. But I definitely spent my fair share of time not being a good one.
First ass whipping I ever got was when I was three.

my mom, now, was not a slouch. if i made her mad enough to cry, off would come that skinny damned nylon belt she wore, and SOB would it leave stripes wherever it made contact. "fuck, beat me with a mattock handle, mom, but keep your belt on!" yeah, i still feel the sting, and that was over 50 years ago...some things you remember.
