I live in one of the most effected areas in Germany and today was announced that all schools and kindergartens will stay closed from now on. In three weeks there are holidays anyway, so this means all kids will stay home for at least five weeks.
German government recommend to avoid social contacts as good as possible. Swiss media report this evening, that it is expected that Germany, Austria and Swiss will get locked down completely at the end of the next week. A total shutdown is expected.

'Experten rechnen mit Ausgangssperren in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz bis Ende kommender Woche."
--> Experts expect curfews in Germany, Austria and Swiss until end of the next week.'
I was shopping today and it is eerie. Shelfs are partly empty in the malls and supermarkets like I never saw before. Products like noodles, rice, toilet paper are still available, but shelfs are looted. Masses of people filling up their personal food stock. Strange mood out here. To me it seems people don't really realize how serious the situation is or it is a grim sense of humor I don't know.
Was also in the tools market and the garden center. Will start to prepare my garden earlier and I built a hotbed for my salad and some small plants. I used an old sandbox of the kids of my neighbors and filled it with compost and clutched some foil over it with the help of some bamboo sticks. I'm longing for my own fresh stuff.
