I wouldn't be surprised if the end result is US GDP/GNP not contracting, so the US doesn't go into recession.

According to the CDC, the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution grants the federal government isolation and quarantine authority.

Same here. It is eerie. Most people around me don't realize what threat is coming. There are still people telling me, it's just the flu. I get crazy.

I fear this will stay a wish. I'm curious what will happen at the stock market after WHO spoke out the bad word: 'Pandemie'

How much does the average hospital stay in the US cost, per day ?

For me in Germany this doesn't matter, because I have an insurance, like all Germans, but... do you really think it matters if you can pay your bill or not ? There will be no bed for us. Do you hear me? No bed, no oxygen. There will be too many people and it will be dangerous in hospitals. You will get infected for sure, maybe with different mutations and before you just had one mutation of the virus. People will freak out, because they are dying or are afraid of or lost family members, wife, husband, sons, daughters... There will be chaos and the doctors and nurses will be completely overstrained.

US is 10 days behind Italy in terms of confirmed cases. That would put the US at about 12,000 cases on March 21.

Very interesting animation that shows how case spread pattern is repeated over and over, in France Italy the US etc.

However a lot of the US stats are simply determined by the previous lack of test kits.

Now the US is really looking like Clusterfuck Nation, can't get the reagents for the kits.

Did they forget all their chemistry ? If they can't get the reagent, they can synthesize the reagent.

It's as if the entire US government has dumbed down to accomodate the ENORMOUS ego of Mr. Trump.

Why don't they give a contract to Apple or Google, that has enough doctors and chemists scientists engineers etc. to make stuff happen ?

Mr Curry ... I 've previously met Mr Mikell in these pages. In my view he is not being contemptuous. Rather he has achieved an unusual (for here) degree of detachment from Worldy affairs.

He is simply not emotionally involved in the issue whereas it seems to me many of us are responding/reacting with their emotions.

It also occurs to me that Mr Mikell's viewpoint is needed to provide balance.

However, the US is just primitive about biohazard technology.

The only thing I have that protects my eyes and my breathing passages is a welding mask.

I have an N95 mask and safety glasses, but I can't use them together because they fog up.
