If you get it and develop pneumonia you will damn well know it.
Its now Spring time cold, and flu abates and allergies begin.

I hear ya. My kid was intent on becoming a medical practitioner, but I warned about the growing peril facing doctors and nurses in today's world of fast spreading new and deadly pathogens, and mercifully, my caution was heeded, with a new direction now charted for a future career.

I'm having a hard time typing because i can't stop shaking my head.... why test?

Are you aware that early detection is one of the most effective tools to combat infection in any disease, and potentially life saving in the case of a deadly one.... that's why test....
If my elderly mother gets tested (and thus treated) in the early stages of infection, there's a better chance of her living.

Teresa (47) is said to have suffered from flu-like symptoms on Saturday afternoon, but it soon became worse."My sister felt bad yesterday afternoon and lost consciousness. Hostage in the house
Luca says to have begged for help, but in vain. "They left us to our own devices. My sister is in bed here and we are hostage in the house. I just want to know what to do and who can take care of us. "

Dang. This man obviously loved his sister to death, as evidenced by his giving her mouth-to-mouth despite knowing he was definitely sentencing himself to death by doing so. Love between siblings is not universal. I know of at least two people that would heave a sigh of relief, and head to the nearest bar to buy a round for all present, if they were given news about the death of their sibling.

Now he is stuck in a house, with a cadaver that nobody is willing to bury. This is truly the stuff of nightmares.

Like I said why test there aren't any surefire tests available in sufficient quantity there is no established treatment protocol for it specifically.

If you get sick and it turns to pneumonia you will know it trust me.

As for the elderly they are all in peril for this .
As for the rest of us it remains to be seen if immunity can be developed to this as far as a vaccine well that is a preventative if you are already exposed or developed symptoms then its wait and see.

lol. I tried that. My son got a computer science degree to make me happy, and now he's going back for nursing.

In my immediate family there are 2 doctors (1 GP and 1 teaches at the heat institute), 3 nurses (1 neonatal), one nurse practitioner, and one in training (my kid). I tell ya, it takes a special type of person to do that job. It's not something you chose, it's a calling that overtakes them.

Bless them all.

Bless them all indeed. I wouldn't be here pontificating about career preferences for my offspring, if it weren't for the very successful reworking of my innards carried out by a doctor a few years back, so thank goodness that there are those for whom a medical career becomes a calling.

With Italy closed for business, their forums look a little busier perhaps, but I really expected to see an Italian posting in this thread. Making me wonder if the posts in the Italian forum are not coming from there.

New York now has a total of 173 cases in the state: There are 108 cases in Westchester County, 36 cases in New York City, 19 cases in Nassau County, six cases in Rockland County, two in Saratoga, one in Suffolk County and one in Ulster County, according to Cuomo.

Now that its been spreading for several weeks, it will be much harder to prevent the outbreaks occurring in in the US.



Russia has very few cases since they closed their borders in January. Now that we have allowed our borders to remain open, there are infections all over the country. CDC is to blame for giving White House innacurate information and delaying the proper response.


Only option now is to try to reduce new infections through social isolation and encouraging people to boost their immune system through vitamins, minerals, dietary supplements and getting good sleep. Keep the stress levels low guys, helps your immunity!
