The financial impact of covid could be stunning. Businesses can't keep paying rent without business. Homeowners face foreclosure. Landlords will be looking for tenants who can pay. 10-20% of colleges are anticipated to close. After the bug come the bear.

That's f'n crazy. They have to change it.

Great avatar. Apostrophe was one of his best.

Yea well good luck with that as they say. Not to disclose too much but my job is to leap into the fray so people can go to work

What could possibly go wrong?

Weird, some guy falls out of a bucket truck truck and OSHA is all over it. Then somebody like you gets thrown into a petri dish full of killer bugs and they turn a blind eye. First responders, hospital workers etc knew there were risks when they signed up.

Petri dish is exactly right.

Petri dish is exactly right.

that is one of my largest concerns about reopening schools. jamming probably 60 hyperactive kids together like sardines in a bus & riding them around for over an hour on many rural routes. fuck me, i'd homeschool first if i was in that spot i think...

I sure as hell won't be sending my kid back to school this fall. They'll have to literally come out here with guns to make me do it. They can sacrifice their own kids to the economy. They shouldn't, but they will....

How can this not be a choice?

i thought the Lt. Governor of Texas said that the elderly (like HIM) should be the ones to die in order to keep the wheels of "progress" greased. he is still alive? and he & DeVos want the children now instead? no surprise.

How many of those deaths could have been prevented if we protected the elderly early on?

You do know aprox. 50% of those deaths are from nursing home and such right?

Preventable in my opinion.

Are we protecting the nursing home yet?

Nope they are sitting ducks.
Just waiting to add to those numbers.

Why is this happening?
Why has it not been stopped?

Money?

Remember to wear your mask to stop the spread, right??
Meanwhile covid runs rampant in nursing homes.

Get a clue people.

Well at least Canada understands how to take the problem seriously:

This is how a real leader handles business:

“We have to do a better job,” Ford said at the briefing. “At the end of the day, the buck stops with me. We’ll make sure it gets fixed, but my No. 1 priority is to make sure the people get the help they need right now.”

No bullshit, just acknowledging failures and moving forward with action.

There was a party in Brampton last night with 200 young critters boogying for SARS. (700 at one in New Jersey!) My brother visited the Lake Erie town near him this morning and he said the beach was busy, no masks, and there were 20 people under a shady tree having a hoot. The government cannot force people to be good citizens and/or reasonable in a liberal democracy. You can't force 20 year olds to be as cautious as 40 year olds. You can't force people to give a sh!t.
