Why does Covid19 care about Obesity ?

I could see high blood pressure, diabetes, etc - especially if the patient is taking medications that complicate their blood chemistry.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-death-rate/

"89% of these deaths (267 out of 300) occurring in people with a known underlying medical condition (including obesity)."

or is obesity a side effect of the conditions that actually complicate Covid19 ?

since so many of the conditions that complicate Covid19 are improved by EXERCISE, i sure would like to see the President show some leadership - and tell people to exercise.

wouldn't showing leadership in this case involve exercising yourself, and quit with the Big Macs? instead of "do as i say, not as i do"...

A strict diet of convfefe and bergders has served me well over the years.

Every once in a while though, I do go ahead and grab at passing women, just to liven things up a bit.

Hell yeah ! Now only the fake news press could look at this picture, and try to claim having seen a more amazing and beautiful spread of prime American berdgers anywhere on this planet.

"Thank you and God bless America. By the way, only a few of those millionaire ball players who pledged to pay up for that grand banquet I laid on, have actually sent checks, and all but three of those checks bounced, so we'll just have let those berdgers go for free, this time. By the way, did you see the latest job figures ?

Folks don't often see my compassionate side, but its there, and Melania says I need to expose it more often, so we're looking into that very closely. "

The local YMCA totally borked their response to Covid19.

they try to impose all these rules on the pool area, some of which don't make sense.

Like - you can't have a towel.

Last week I told one of the managers that it's the most poorly managed gym I've ever belonged to, related to a slip & fall problem that has become like a bad joke.

an older lady I met in the lobby ... fractured wrist from the YMCA shower - slip & fall.

older guy I know from Silicon Valley & the gym - slip & fall, hit his head, concussion - i was the first one on the scene, he was naked in the shower, bleeding.

myself - dislocated knee 9 years ago.

and there one's other fracture that people know about in the hot tub.

So, that back history about slip & falls is part of the story.

So today I got to the gym and it took from 7:30 AM to about 8:40 AM before I understood the new policy - you have to put your bag in a designated area with a line around it.

And no towels in the pool area.

Anyway I was fully complied with the new rules by 8:40, and was sort of like "what the hell else do you expect me to do".

the manager i tried to talk to last week, i asked her what was going on today, so she told me - she said she was IRRITATED.

she asked me to leave. I explained that her being irritated was not a good enough reason for me to cut my workout short. Given that I was complying with all the new Covid19 rules.

At 8:50 AM, they called the cops on me.

Good thing the town has 3 pools.

I think cooler heads may prevail. The general manager wasn't there.

I think they might realize, they need members who pay $45 a month.

Increase 100 thousand each day. that's crazy.

Increase 100 thousand each day. that's crazy.

30 million infected in 3 months in the US.

so it's rolling through the population at the rate of 10 million a month.

like a machine. though each infectious person might have 100 billion virus particles.

so in the US ... a total of 1 million Trillion Virus Particles.

like a big kinetic sculpture, where the parts that make it move are hidden.

sort of like electricity - but electricity doesn't normally cause women with Early Onset Menopause to lose their minds.

one of the side effects of Covid19. I had 2 women with EOM screaming at me at once.

The last time I experienced that kind of craziness ... it was with a woman friend who had EOM.

I have experienced similar outbursts from the usual suspects over the years, and in my search for an explanation, I stumbled upon the scientific fact that while the blood levels of the male hormone testosterone decline over the lifetime of men, in a downward slope starting at their peak of virility and aggressiveness aged 19, the reverse is the case for women, whose testosterone MALE hormone levels proceed to CLIMB in a straight line, commencing at the approximate age of 30, when the voice often deepens perceptibly, among other changes noted by St. Phatty above.

With this little chemistry lesson in mind, I began to better grasp why it is that the trousers tend to change hands by "mutual agreement" in most marriages, once both partners enter their 40s. Apologies for this minor digression, which I think I'll conveniently blame on St. Phatty, for bringing up this subject when I was in the mood to babble aimlessly. I blame others, therefore I exist.

no prob, very interesting.

being in my 60's, I have obviously gone through Male Menopause.

The main difference I notice is, I can't work out in the afternoon or evening.

If I work out a lot, e.g. yesterday swam 2300 yards, i end up Super Hungry. And often don't sleep well because the exercise can leave me really keyed up.

However, if we apply what you're saying to HRC ... oh my God.

Swimming 2300 yards is a feat for a person of any age group, and even more remarkable as a normal routine for a person in their 60s. My hat is off to you sir, for religiously maintaining the discipline of staying fit for life, to coin Jack Lalane's favorite sound bite.

By coincidence too, just being in peak physical condition is probably the best insurance there is against all illnesses, including the corona virus.

well i'm far from peak. 34 inch waist.

anyway, 2 of the co-morbidities of Covid19 - diabetes & blood pressure - can be treated or attenuated using exercise.

but I haven't heard one single city mayor, crying about "increased death rate" in communities of elderly minorities, tell those at-risk people to exercise APPROPRIATELY.
