Coronavirus.. outlook

I'mback

Comfortably numb!
I imagine that would be a good way to get a really lingering and definitive whiff of said panties, though I hasten to add that I do not speak from personal experience on this matter.
:) You shit your friends and I'll shit mine. Let's not bullshit each other :)

Rambam Health Care Campus to look into effects of cannabis on COVID-19

Several types of cannabis have anti-inflammatory properties that could be very effective in treating COVID-19 patients.

Rambam Heath Care Campus in Haifa has scheduled clinical trials to see if cannabis could be helpful in treating severely ill coronavirus patients.
Led by Dr. Igal Louria-Hayon, director of Rambam's Center for Cannabis Research, the trials are set to begin in the next few months, and are the first of its kind in Israel.

“For the first time in Israel, a laboratory experiment has been undertaken to explore the effect of various types of cannabinoids on the white blood cells of COVID-19 patients,” Louria-Hayon said in a statement.
According to data gleaned from preliminary research, several types of cannabis have anti-inflammatory properties that could be very effective in treating COVID-19 patients. According to existing information, one of the major causes of death in COVID-19 patients is the "cytokine storm," an immune system response that may result in an out-of-control inflammatory response that worsens the illness and can be fatal.

However, since the body naturally produces and utilizes substances of similar structure to the active components of cannabis, it is theorized that cannabis may actually provoke a similar response from the body.
“Cannabis has known anti-inflammatory properties, and we have been conducting advanced research on the use of cannabis to treat other diseases with widespread inflammatory responses. At the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, we directed our efforts and experience to join the world-wide battle against this epidemic,” Louria-Hayon said.
The center's researchers have so far narrowed down around 15 specific cannabis strains could prevent the intense inflammation found in COVID-19 patients.
“We detected signs that cannabinoids contribute to the sophisticated fabric network of intercellular communications,” Louria-Hayon explained.
“Intercellular communication based on cannabis-like substances also exist in the immune system,” he said. “If we understand how cannabinoid components are used in intercellular communication, we can help influence this communication in the event of a disease, to disrupt it or empower the communication to convey desired messages.”
He added: “We hope that by decoding the cannabinoid activity mechanism during inflammatory storms, we can treat COVID-19 patients where conventional drugs have failed.
“The uniqueness of our cannabis treatments is based on our understanding of the mechanisms of cannabinoids activity and scientific findings.”
In order to properly understand cannabis's effects on COVID-19, researchers are drawing on samples from COVID-19 patients, which was accessed through Rambam's Biobank database.
“We saw the establishment of a Biobank pool for COVID-19 research as essential to securing rapid answers and accelerating critically needed research,” Rambam Medical Research Institute director Dr. Shlomit Yehudai-Reshef explained.
“Blood samples are the most accessible resource for continuous sampling—to understand biological processes during the disease and to develop vaccines and drugs.”
“At Rambam, dozens of COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized in recent weeks, from whom blood samples were collected for clinical and research purposes,” she added, explaining that “despite the complexity and high risk, we found a safe way to separate the white blood cells, including the immune cells from verified patients.”

maybe the heat from inhaling combustible material is the answer...possibly destroying the lipid layer protecting the virus.
i know that inhaling heat reduces the severity of cold virus.
or that cannabinoids have an affinity for the ACE2 cell receptors and attach to those limiting the ability of the virus to gain access to the cell interior.
just spitballing here.

Thousands of patients have lung complaints after corona

AMSTERDAM - Thousands of Dutch people who had corona may sustain permanent injury to their lungs. The lung contents can clearly decrease and the absorption of oxygen is much worse than normal in severe cases.

The chairman of the Dutch Association of Physicians for Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis (Nvalt) warns Leon van den Toorn in AD about this. According to him, many patients underestimate the consequences of corona.

He points out that the virus and the body's response to it can cause permanent damage to the lungs. “In severe cases, a kind of scar formation occurs, which we call lung fibrosis. The lungs shrink and the lung tissue becomes stiffer, making it more difficult to get enough oxygen. ”

Van den Toorn wants to avoid making the same mistake with corona as at the time with Q fever. Because of this infectious disease, which broke out in 2007 and lasted until 2011, hundreds of people still suffer from serious health problems.

That is why pulse oxymeters are almost impossible to get now. I am glad Gry was able to get his O2 concentrator, cause those will probably become more widely used, and scarce until production is ramped up.

What about the trichromes, which I think also are solvents? Could inhaling those essential oils damage the virus outer wall? I am sure hoping so.

When I first heard it was added ACE2 receptors that the chinese have, which was why they were getting hit so hard, I thought about hitting the vape.

Then again, I always think about hitting the vape.

Netherlands 46,442 +185 5,956

had to look up the Dutch statistics.

it doesn't exactly tell us the ratio between deaths, and those with Covid19 fibrosis (scarring.)

seems like 1 to 2 times as many people end up with lung scar tissue, as die, but that's a loose SWAG.

of course Covid19 attacks other organs.

there will be a terrible legacy of young people with Covid19 strokes.

getting close to home here...

Last week, before the Kentucky National Guard was mobilized, seven people were wounded when gunshots erupted during a protest in downtown Louisville. Police said none of the seven, who are recovering, were shot by police. They have not announced any arrests.

Protesters have been demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, who was killed in her home in Louisville. The 26-year-old EMT was shot eight times by narcotics detectives who knocked down her front door. No drugs were found in the home.

Yeah, shoot back. Bastards.

We are living through the end of America as we knew it. The other side will be poverty and hunger when the US dollah is no longer a world reserve currency.

There were also reports in Germany. First I stumbled upon a report of hobby diver, who can't dive anymore after Covid-19 infection. They had only slightly symptoms and never expected to have any problems and now their lungs are partly fibrosed.

There are also reports of Covid-19 patients who need life long dialysis. What means not only the lung gets affected, but also the kidneys.

And the heart, the liver, the colon etc. Covid-19 harms and damages blood vessels. And it affects all organs which are heavily supplied with blood. If your organs are pre-damaged you are more endangered. Many Covid-19 victims died by multi organ failure.

And this explains also why people with high blood pressure are more endangered. Their blood vessels are constricted by residues and when Covid-19 affects this blood vessels the residues can loosen and cause strokes, thromboses and embolisms.
And this explains why some Covid-19 victims died suddenly from one moment to another. This explains the footages we saw from China where people fell down on the street from one moment to the next. This is reality.

And until now it is unknown how people get affected in the long term. It seems many people stay back nearly disabled. And it is also unclear how life expectancy get maybe lowered, because organs get damaged.

'Extra vitamin K may prevent corona from becoming seriously ill'

The number of registered coronavirus infections has passed 6.2 million worldwide. There are now more than 373,000 deaths, of whom more than 106,000 have died in the US. In our country, nearly 6,000 have died so far.

It could be an international breakthrough in the corona crisis: the research into vitamin K that doctors and researchers are working on at the CWZ hospital in Nijmegen. This is reported by Omroep Gelderland.

They discovered that corona patients who become very seriously ill or die have very little vitamin K in their blood. And that exactly that vitamin plays an important role in protecting the lungs. Extra vitamin K could prevent serious coronavirus illness.

"We really think we have got something," says internist-infectiologist Ton Dofferhoff in the laboratory of the CWZ hospital in Nijmegen. “We have been able to demonstrate that the blood levels of vitamin K in corona patients who die or end up in intensive care are very low. Much lower than in healthy people. So there seems to be a relationship between a low vitamin K and a serious course of the disease. ”

This is exactly what I have been trying to explain to those idiots who go on and on about this being just like a flu. This is so much worse and we haven't seen anywhere near what this is capable of. Even if it doesn't keep emerging(unlikely that it will not), the long term damage being done in many cases makes me question if "flattening the curve" is even good enough. Its still not clear that this virus ever completely leaves the body and its already clear that vaccines are likely going to be about as effective as the flu vaccine(that is to say, not very effective and requiring constant updating).

Hell, it seems people don't realize how dangerous the virus is. I'm very concerned because here in Germany everything opens again. There are even demands to open schools normally after summer holidays. As if the virus would simply disappear if we all close our eyes hard enough. The virus will come back immediately when everything turns back to normality. R0 is already rising again. Right now everything seems to be nearly normal, but I don't believe it will stay this way.
