Coronavirus.. outlook

just going shopping first thing in the morning is a good way to avoid the crowds.

With the exception of the stores that are permitting an early first hour of operations exclusively for seniors. I was shocked at how many of us old geezers are up at that hour! :)

Dude get real here.
You think I am talking about hospitals having empty parking lots...LOL
Less staff, less visitors, less patients.
I already factored that into things.:)

To be clear here:
The news shows hospitals are overwhelmed.
I went there they are not.
Why does the news say this is happening when it is not.
Go to you hospital and see for yourself.
post a video if you see a swamped hospital.

The news says testing has a long wait times.
I did not see a line for testing nor did my brother.
That was 5 different hospitals.

Are you in an area that is one of the 'hot spots'?

I honestly don't know what the news is saying, other than there are areas where they can't treat everyone that needs it.

Lots of people don't have much of any symptoms but they are the ones who pass it around the most BECAUSE they think they are all clear.... and on and on it goes.

If hospitals aren't 'swamped' now that can change very quickly if those asymptomatic are out socializing spreading it near and far.

At least 8 strains of the coronavirus have been identified
Researchers say the small mutations are useful in showing how the virus is spreading around the world, and aren’t cause for concern.

Researchers have identified at least eight strains of the novel coronavirus that has infected more than one million people across the globe, and say the mutations are useful in determining just how the virus is spreading.

Thousands of genetic sequences of the virus have been uploaded to the open database NextStrain, which shows how the virus is migrating and splitting into new but similar subtypes. Researchers said the data show the virus is mutating on average every 15 days, according to National Geographic.

NexStrain co-founder Trevor Bedford said, however, the mutations are so small that no one strain of the virus is more deadly than another. Researchers also say it does not appear the strains will grow more lethal as they evolve.

You make a very good point here.
I do see large amounts of evidence they are ramping things up.
But they seem to be telling up what may happen is already happening an it is not.

I forgot to mention that hospital had a packed parking lot and had many visitors coming and going.
This hospital also had people outside roaming around everywhere.
Not a normal day, but lots of people moving about the hospital.
The others looked to be on lock down.
The parking structure was shut down.
The hospital is pretty big though.

there are areas where they can't treat everyone that needs it.

This is what I am saying, where are the people that are not able to get treatment.
Maybe lack of insurance, but I heard the tests were free.

I can not seem to find one person waiting to be tested.
The nurse at the biggest hotsopt hospital near eastpoint michigan.....
Told me that things are not as bad inside the hospital as the news is saying it is.

This is a must see video.

I have a friend who works at a hospital who says it’s almost empty at the moment, only 3 Covid patients so far. The hospitals are prepping and waiting for the surge. All non emergency operations, appointments, etc were canceled, so it looks like some hospitals are doing much. Wait two weeks and they could be filled. This is in the East Bay in California.

This is exactly what I am seeing, they are ramping up heavily.
Thanks for the report!

I dont know but i have a friend who has masters un microbiology, worked for Merck for twenty some years, he is a true libertarian but he saus this is very serious and we need to lock things down last week. My ex wife worked in hospitals and nursing home for years ...she quit working in February when she heard about this shit. Today there was one case found in our old hometown.

FDIC announces first bank failure of coronavirus crisis

A small bank in West Virginia has become the first institution to fail during the coronavirus crisis, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. announced Friday. The First State Bank of Barboursville with $152 million in total assets was closed Friday by the West Virginia Division of Financial Institutions. The bank's $139.5 million in deposits will be acquired by MVB Bank Inc. of Fairmont, W.Va. The four branches of The First State Bank will reopen as branches of MVB Bank on Saturday, the FDIC said.

Banks fail on the reg, but I have been watching this "Failed Bank List" for a while over this debt bubble that has popped.

A lot of good that will do us. So they can nuke China from the mountain? The aircraft carrier that was in the pacific guarding over China making islands everywhere, is sick. They had to dock it at Guam. The chicoms are running all over the Pacific like they own it now.

There is an old base on Guam called "Andersen South", that was used in Vietnam war times. I have stayed there once, way back in the day. I wonder where they are putting the people from the carrier?

What is up with Kushner saying that they have federal stockpiles of medical equipment but that it's not for the states??

Does it mean that it is for them to decide which areas will be the most beneficial politically to them and that they are the areas which will be getting the equipment?

Maybe corresponds to a national sec.-related post some one put up, stating the US Mil is prepping COVID-19-free troops and bunkers to keep them ready and active.

Hi.

They have been saying until recently to wear a mask is not useful and it doesn't prevent you to get the virus. They have been lying. Now they said it can be usefful but masks have been run out.

If you cannot get a mask even a handkerchied, scarf or any piece of cloth can be useful. Most people infected don't realize the are propagating the coronavirus.

Use masks even if people may think you are going to attack the stage coach.

CORONAVIRUS
An at-home fingerprick blood test may help detect your exposure to coronavirus
If approved, the blood test could show if your immune system has developed coronavirus antibodies. But a positive result isn't a license to return to work.

"The entire testing process happens at home," says Scanwell Chief Medical Officer Jack Jeng, "No specimen has to be shipped back."

A positive test result means a patient has been exposed to COVID-19 at some point in the past and has developed antibodies to fight it.

"The Scanwell rapid serology test is looking for antibodies in the blood. A positive test result means that you were exposed to the virus previously because it takes time for the antibodies to develop," said Jeng.

David Kroll, a professor of pharmacology at the University of Colorado who has worked on antibody testing, explained that the antibodies mean "your immune system [has] remembered the virus to the point that it makes these antibodies that could inactivate any future viral infections."
