Commissars and Jacobins

The critical race theory craze is reaching peak woke, or is already on the downslope. No complex and sophisticated society is sustainable with a Maoist creed of cannibalizing citizens for thought crimes. Commissars do not produce anything or serve anybody, but only monitor thoughts and speech to ascertain the purity of diversity, equity, and inclusion. They are not just a drain on the productive sector but will insidiously destroy it, since their currency is to ensure a timid, obsequiousness and banal orthodoxy.

We know from the failed Soviet system and from the French Revolution that the most mediocre in society became its most eager auditors of correct behavior. The arbiters of proper thought—the self-righteous paid toady, the perpetual victim employed in service to government payback, the freelancing snitch—were always the villains of freedom, productivity, and humanity, whether we read of the killing off of Alexander the Great’s inner circle, the forced suicides of the Neronian circle, the Jacobin murder spree, or the nightmarish world described by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.

That the Biden Administration has now joined with Silicon Valley to hunt down on social media any dissenters from this month’s official policy on vaccinations and mask-wearing was not so shocking as to be expected from a media that banned coverage of Hunter Biden’s laptop. In Cuban-fashion, millions of judge-jury-executioner online snitches, with government encouragement, will help root out incorrect thoughts at light speed.

What does this have to do with communism?

Authoritarian capitalism,[SUP][1][/SUP] or illiberal capitalism,[SUP][2][/SUP] is an economic system in which a capitalist market economy exists alongside an authoritarian government. Related to and overlapping with state capitalism, a system in which the state undertakes commercial activity, authoritarian capitalism combines private property and the functioning of market forces with repression of dissent, restrictions on freedom of speech and either a lack of elections or an electoral system with a single dominant political party.[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][3][/SUP]

Communism (from Latin communis, 'common, universal')[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP] is a philosophical, social, political, and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of a communist society, namely a socioeconomic order structured upon the ideas of common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money,[SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP] and, in some cases, the state.[SUP][5][/SUP][SUP][6][/SUP] As such, communism is a specific form of socialism.

So we're not capitalist with an authoritarian government? Weird. So then what are all these complaints about being censored and deplatformed? 30 states enacting laws to make it illegal to criticize Israel? Free speech zones? Unmarked police grabbing people off the streets? etc.

Small bumps in the road. You can criticize whatever you want including Isreal.

Unless you actually affect Israel.

Just ask Ben & Jerry's. Israel is currently using those special laws in those 30 states to try to force Ben & Jerry's to sell them ice cream. Ben & Jerry's doesn't support Israels occupation of Palestine and has stopped selling them their products.

Israel vows to ‘act aggressively’ against Ben & Jerry’s
https://apnews.com/article/ben-jerry...223a95a593c391

Israel’s prime minister vowed Tuesday to “act aggressively” against the decision by Ben & Jerry’s to stop selling its ice cream in Israeli-occupied territories, as the country’s ambassador to the U.S. urged dozens of state governors to punish the company under anti-boycott laws.

in the 30 states that made BDS illegal, if you're a state contractor you have to sign a piece of paper saying you will never criticize israel or risk losing your funding/job. almost all of these anti BDS laws are from states with republican leadership who love sucking zionist cock.

Republicans aren't quite done trying to cancel Ben & Jerry's
For all the complaints about "cancel culture," GOP officials seem awfully eager to "cancel" an ice-cream company that made a decision they disagree with.

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow...quite-done-trying-cancel-ben-jerry-s-n1275930

"Florida has placed Ben [and] Jerry's parent corporation, Unilever, on a list of "scrutinized companies" amid the ice cream branding ending sales in certain Israeli-occupied areas. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced that Unilever was added to the "Scrutinized Companies that Boycott Israel" list in a statement on Tuesday.

The Republican governor, who probably ought to be focusing more on the pandemic than international ice-cream sales, went on to complain yesterday about "woke corporate ideologues."

The list doesn't stop there. My MSNBC colleague Zeeshan Aleem wrote a related piece yesterday, adding, "Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., has called for his state to sever ties with Ben & Jerry's and Unilever, and Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar has said that he's looking into the possibility of divesting from the companies. Pennsylvania Republican State Rep. Aaron Kaufer recently wrote a letter to the governor demanding the government 'end any affiliation or serving of Ben & Jerry's ice cream' within the state's public institutions."

Circling back to our earlier coverage, for all the hysterical far-right complaints about "cancel culture," it's conservative Republicans who seem awfully eager to "cancel" companies that make decisions they disagree with.

Similarly, it's striking to see GOP officials celebrate "free markets" as a core tenet of Republican thought, only to have GOP officials use their positions to demand punishments for an ice cream company after it made a foreign licensing decision the party didn't like.

I would say Americans are pretty much fucked. They are ruining our currency. Doug Casey agrees.

International Man: Let’s consider historical examples and the US today. Once currency debasement and the degradation of culture have established themselves as long-term trends, what are the chances they reverse?

Doug Casey: Trends in motion tend to stay in motion until they reach a crisis. Once they reach a crisis, it can go either way. But things usually get worse again, for at least a while.

Things might degenerate slowly into something like the Soviet Union or Mao’s China. Or maybe what’s left of capitalism and personal freedoms will be overthrown quickly. We can certainly expect no good to come out of Washington now that Americans seem to have elected genuine Bolsheviks to run their government. The old order was overthrown in France in 1789, and it got worse with Robespierre and then Napoleon. Things were terrible in Russia in 1917, but they got worse under Lenin and worse again under Stalin.

I think no matter what happens, we’re in for some really grim times

i would love to hear in depth how the democrats are communist. i would also love to hear how China is communist.

my position, which i can prove extremely easily, is that the democrats are a center right corporate capitalist party, otherwise known as neoliberal. and china, china quickly abandoned any semblence of a communist economy in favor of authoritarian state capitalism (which is the USA's future -- i'm sure all my conspiracy theorists out there remember when David Rockefeller said China is the model for the future of the US -- this is what they meant.)

thanks

It took me a while to penetrate (excuse the masculine term) your Irony Mr Cannavore. For a while I thought you were just another mad one. But I certainly appreciate the depth of your thinking esp re this thread. (PS: I 'm often bored by the standard of posting here and I 'll bet you are too. We both deserve a medal for tenacity and never letting the bastards wear us down. NILS CARBORUNDUM!) Onward ...

Not interesting at all. Another dope who conflates the Democrats with the left. Democrats are moderate Republicans, not leftists.

yep i made this thread to pose a question to the wingnuts who see communism around every corner but none of them want to really engage, they still come in here revealing parts of the "commie plan" lol but that doesn't really help me understand why they think that way. i guess all i can really do is chalk it up to the crazy media so many these days are consuming.

i genuinely want to understand the logic behind thinking Nancy Pelosi (a corrupt multi millionaire landlord capitalist elitist) is a communist for example. believing such a thing defies all logic and reason to me and to most people who are plugged in to politics.
