Funny. I have family members who are Mormons in KC and SLC. I have met exactly two Colorado Mormons in my nearly 38 years here. You must just be unlucky.

And I will beg to differ. My line of work had me on the road for years. I've met some great people out there. And there are certainly some wonderful people all over this country.

My problem isn't with them. My problem is only with Californians trying to Californicate our state. That's all. While I said have no problem with California growers per say...the large California opportunists that came out here during the green rush are a prime example of Californians trying to turn our state into another California.

I...and I know at least the last two generations of my Colorado family (my family settled this state in the 1800's) are not too terribly keen on Californians (or Texans for that matter) molding Colorado into California. I can't think of any of my Colorado friends that are saying, "Oh boy...bring on the Californians".

Sorry if that makes you angry. Just the way me and mine feel.

Best part about being stoner...things like movies you've already seen...you can see them again and never remember seeing them. That goes the other way too...like the slogan above. Texans are friendly folks. They just tend to have a different view of what Colorado SHOULD be in their eyes. And the ones that have money are constantly working hard to make it so.

Californians always come with a smile, but beware their agendas. They tend to be nice to everyone until they can figure out if you can get them what they want. They second they find out you can't...asshole city.

I'm not going to say ALL Californians. There are some good ones (though they all seem to be from Northern California). I think it's just the culture out there. I saw it first hand living out there. I was trusting...became friends with one. Realized after a few times going to the bar he was a little "off". Started showing up at my apartment at like 3-4am...screaming up at my window to let him in.

I'd let him in...he'd drink all my beer and smoke all my weed. And the next morning for work I'd be tuckered as hell because he'd hang out until the sun came up.

A visit every couple of weeks turned into every other day when I finally told him he couldn't come over so late anymore. Guy got pissed. Started calling me constantly. Came to my work (where we had met as temps...I was hired...he was let go). Waited for me outside. Started hounding me about why I would be so mean to him (for me asking him not to come over 3-4 times a week at outrageous hours).

Got so bad that his fiance left him. Called me and told me I should call the cops...because he was becoming obsessed with me and she thought I might be in danger.

In the end, I just ignored him and after about 4-5 months he just disappeared.

That is one of dozens of fucked up stories I can give you guys in the few years I lived in L.A.. I was so use to loyal Coloradans that said what they meant and meant what they say...it took me getting fucked over 3-4 times before I realized that I needed to be very careful with people I befriended out there. And even then, I'd get fucked over by people I'd consciously keep at arms length.

Really...tons of fucked up nutballs with bad intent out there.

And don't even get me started if they were a product of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Which would mean the 'commodity market' needs some tuning still.
Over-regulation will not help to achieve an efficient market, nor will it help the GRADING of commodities.

Also, the education of the consumer is important. It will take time for them to learn the difference between the good shit and the bad.

If shit hits the fan here with HB1284, Texans, Californians, and people from Illinois. I for one, am going to get LAUDE in the land of green or red. They have a much more intelligent caregiver system.
And do not say NM is a shit hole. If anyone thinks that, then I am sorry you are blind to the second most beautiful state in the country.

I've lived in many states and graduated from Denver, but have lived in TX too and despise that place. Colorado all the way baby!!

on the side topic: cali kids are usually alright. they drink a lot more than you would think. i've met a lot of alcoholics from cali. colorado is full of mostly nice outdoors type people. lot of crazy mountain folk, but they're lovable. also, a lot of transplants out here. i'm one, and i've met a tonnnn of people out here from my home state...it's almost scary.

To me it seems like this bill is going to drive the price of weed in colorado up a lot. I think you all will be looking at about 400 a zone for a while till everything gets organized. supply will be down maybe.

the next move for any dispensary that is about to shut down needs to join with the others and make one large company to compete with the cali guys. Advertise the purpose of starting this company, and that is is caregiver driven not money driven. Advertise it is started by small colrado growers, and you will retain loyalty and drive the cali folks onto the next state. see they are trying to take other state markets because the cali market is tapped out. you can easily get a pound of out door for as little as 2 g's in northern cali.
they see what happned and cali, and are trying to make more cash flow oriented laws in colorado. The thing is they are screwing many patients in the process.
