Colorado House Bill 1284

If the day ever comes when I walk into a dispensary with a bag of my bling bling and can't get a fair price, then I might start to panic. Until then I'm not afraid of these bully politicians and leo and not going to do one thing differently than I've been doing the last 3 years.

You really think dispensaries are just going to all of a sudden stop buying from their trusted vendors that they have been working with all this time and relying on?

You really think a caregiver is going to tell all but 5 of his patients they have to hit the road?

Hell no.

If there are any reputable dispensaries left... So far I've met exactly 2 dispensaries who are more interested in quality/fairness than getting shit out the door.

So...I mean...what to do with overages if dispensaries are no longer allowed to buy from us? Throw it away as the supply of meds quickly dwindles? Just crush it up and throw it on my compost pile? Stand outside the Wal-Mart dispensaries and hand it out for free?

It's just so NOT thought out. While dispensaries have a hard time keeping their inventory up...you've got caregivers with boatloads of overages. But we're not allowed to sell it. We're not allowed to have it. So as the supply drops and prices start to go up.....these jackasses want us just to dispose of the extra?

And not being allowed to sell it for more than it cost to produce it? Asinine. Why do they think that's how it should be. "Because patients really need it and you should be about the patient.".

Okay...we'll...I need electricity. Why don't they force the electric company to give me their stuff at their cost? I need water. Why don't they force the water company to give me their stuff at cost? "Oh...that would be socialism/capitalism...you're an unAmerican terrorist if you want those things for free."

Romer...you fucking idiot. Matt Brown...you just like to hear the sound of your own voice you self important little pip squeak. You cost thousands of people their jobs and you're over here patting yourself on the back.

This thing is a giant flaming shit waffle.

To sum it up...think about the irony of the positions they are taking in regards to the little guy:
You can't sell it for more than your cost.
You can't sell it do dispensaries.
You can't have more than 2 oz. for yourself and per patient.

"So we want you just to discard all this medicine. Just throw it away. We want you to care about your patients that you give them it for free. But we don't have to care about the patients...so we'll limit their access...drive the market price up...force them back to the black market where they can be criminals once again."

This is my plan...

See...but the politicians are in the back pocket of these mother fuckers. They LOVE the Wal-Mart dispensaries because they are dramatically subsidizing their meager public official salaries. They would round you up and disappear you so fast if you actually tried this. Karen Silkwood anyone?

That would be one downside. I'd rather give away my shit for free than integrate with factory farm(acy) dispensary.

Won't be able to give your shit away for free if the disappear ya.

But I love the idea. If we could figure out a way to do it.

Say...a "Free Medicine to Cardholder Van". Like a Book-mobile. Have a large fund set up for legal defense for the people brave enough to man the van. Then go to court with argument, "You wanted us to care about patients. You didn't want us to charge. We have all this overage so we did what you wanted. We gave it away."

Hey Warren...you'd think you could use that defense? lol

Oh...and don't forget to call all the media before the stunt. You'd want this on TV's all the way to lower Slobovia.

This is so contradictory. The dispensaries can legally charge whatever they want. A $80 eighth will be the new norm. And caregivers can't do shit! This was designed to eliminate competition, thats all. Economically this is so unamerican and so anti-free market, its ridiculous! Show me an industry in America that you "ARE NOT ALLOWED" to make a profit on? And the only people that can EVER see or handle any amount of meds over 12 oz. will be dispensaries. That makes me feel sick.

The right way would be to cap the price for dispensaries, and let caregivers charge whatever, duh!

And you can bet your ass that LEO will be hunting down caregivers, counting their plants and meds. I think we will see more and more caregivers getting arrested for their overages very very soon. And I think there will also be a lot of "mixing" of product since dispensaries will probably have shortages. How can the auditors tell what bud was grew where? They can't. I bet after a few months of shortages at dispensaries, they will lobby the government to allow caregivers to sell overages to dispensaries, but not for any profit...I have that feeling...

It just sucks, this is all big money oriented, and does nothing to truly help patients or give us a fair and balanced opportunity for EVERYONE to combat the recession. They really want us hurting. The only ones who shouldn't be hurting and have opportunities in a recession are the ones who already have a buttload of cash, duh! The governments and banks don't like mmj for the people. It has the potential to make hippies money, without loans, interest, or taxes. This is horrible, we all know hippies are the scourge of the earth! They should be living in a bus paying top dollar for shittey weed from a guy in a suit, DUH! When it comes to health and financial matters, hippies just don't count. They should all be poor and sick, preferably in debt and dying...at least in Romer's thoughts! Can you imagine, hippies in the Chamber of Commerce? It must make Romer cringe!

I can't see to find any reference in HB1284, but is the MMJ Registry computer with the list of names still not accessible to anyone except by warrant as stated in amd14?
That would be the only way police could get patient/caregiver info atm.

LEO can access the registry without a warrant, if they have you detained, i believe. the only thing this law does with the registry is make it even easier for LEO to get ahold of it...meaning right now, i think they can only access during normal biz hours.
you'd think that if romer cared one iota about the patient, they would have made it so that the caregiver (often a patient themselves) was allowed to make sure none of their patients left without notifiying...nothing like that, not even one word trying (thanks matt brown you POS)

There's estimated to be 20,000 growers in Colorado, so as long as everybody keeps doing what we're doing it will be hard to stop us. This bill has so many provisions it will be very, very hard to enforce, and as far as I can tell no Dispensary is going to willingly shut it's doors. I would suggest that Caregivers continue to keep a low profile, because certainly some will be busted, but it will be a drop in the bucket compared to the rest that are getting away with it. Hopefully they legalize it in November and the whole thing becomes a moot point.

A lot of poeple have been busted before this scene happened, and more will be busted before it's complete, you can bet! However, it's all part of the path to legalization.

What did Ghandi say?
"If a law is unjust, you should break it!"

Or something like that!

I grew before it was legal, and I have no intention of stoping, not now, not ever. And for your foolish folks that think that "We need to follow the rules," EVERY STRAIN, EVERY CLONE, EVERY PLANT YOU EVER GREW HAS IT'S ORGINS IN A SMUGGLED SEED, OR A LAWBREAKING BREEDER, SO YOU CAN GO FUCK YOURSELF! Bunch of lay-down motherfuckers is what I think when I hear that crap.

id love to just try to overgrow colorado to piss em off anyone ever see that vid of those guys who wraped up a few seeds in a paper towell and tied em to ballons filled with helium and let em all go . id love to do that out here with a few thousand balloons.

I'm on your side, but you are really freaking out more than you need to. What have you been doing with your overflow meds up to this point? Have you spoken with your merchants? Established dispensaries aren't planning on changing a thing bro. If you have an established relationship with a dispensary or two, unless they are serious bitches they will continue to buy your meds.

And patients can still buy from their caregivers too. That's usually the best situation for the patient anyway. My patients now receive their meds directly from the grower for the same cost I would wholesale it to the dispensaries. Win/Win, the dispensaries get nothing from that pie. Anyway, point is, nobody is planning on changing a thing. Don't be afraid.

How about this for a protest. 20 or so growers take all their overages on a harvest...pick one Wal-Mart style dispensary....dump all of it out front in the gutter. Do it all guerrilla style drive up...dump a pile of it right out front.

"Here's our waste you motherfuckers."

Seeing as most of these dispensaries have dirt weed to start with, they'd probably just bag it up and sell it.

Have to film it from a far away location. Give the video to the media. If the media won't take, put that bitch on Youtube and make it go viral.

I just posted that in the CO MMJ Bean thread, lol!

Make sure you film that, too. So dispensary shoppers can see that their the weed laying on the side walk is better than whats in their store! Not to mention contaminated with sidewalk dirt! Do this right on Broadway in Denver too, a really grimey piece of street.

I could see the news spin this around as "criminal growers are littering our streets with dangerously strong marijuana that is far more potent than anything sold in dispensaries, they must be stopped!" Or something to that degree...much like the story a few weeks back about the dogs eating edibles!
