Add to the mix temperature flux, and who knows what might actually be causing my Blue Cheese clones to alternate between sativa and indica dominance. It is crazy getting cut off an obvious Indica then have them all go sativa style...And they all came from the same mother???
I am starting to think that the more I learn about growing the less I actually seem to know.

I recall a strainhunters video about north India where the plants had a more indica expression the higher they went up into the mountains. Same area, same seed stocks. It's part of the way cannabis adapts itself to different environments. I'm sure some clones will behave the same way, others not so much. I think it's actually a good thing when they can do that. It means the plant is making the best of what it has.

I've heard discussion among botanists saying that Cannabis has one of the most advanced genomes of any plant on the planet, with far more information in its RNA than your average fruit, vegetable or flower, perhaps this is the reason that Cannabis adapts so quickly and so easily to so many different local climates?

Btw my website is live!!!!!:biggrin::biggrin: It's shitty but it's live!

i find peat gives your herb an earthier flavor then even coco. I prefer it, buti know some people who don't like the taste of peat and bat shit.

Anybody else going?

The Festival starts at noon today and tomorrow. I don't know why I bothered entering. My NYCD was the only thing even close to ready and I didn't have time for a cure so I doubt it will be more than 16-17% total THC...The last cup some guy managed to pull a 23%. Sealed grow room, pumping CO2 and God only knows what else to get those numbers.
The only reason I entered was to get a solid line on my THC count compared to other "normal" growers in the area. I figure any one of these entries is probably 4-5% higher than any dispensary...So this lets me see where I really am at in my growing quality. I Hope!

This year I SCREWED-UP. I couldn't find peat or dolomite at Big-R, Walmart, Home-depot, Lowes. or even K-mart. Are you guys up North finding that they don't carry them up there? Lowes finally got peat around the end of June...too late for those planting in April/May. I almost get feeling they are doing that intentionally to slow pot grows???
My plants SUFFERED from not adding more this year. I thought that there was still enough in the mix from the last few years and went ahead with planting. Along with giant pearlite I will be finding these soon for the next Spring.

I really don't know what triggers this genetic drift. I think it is temperature...my current hypothesis. The Seeds started looking Sativa, the first clones looked Indica, And they keep bouncing back and forth. I think it is just too close to an even mix and the plant can't figure out which it wants to show. I am still using the same mom from the first batch of clones...no one knows how that thing is still alive.

Just got back an analysis of SBJ a patient submitted after growing, 20.89% THC, yay :)
Alex Connolly said:
THC 20.87%
CBD 0.14%-0.89%*
CBN 0.04%

*had issues with CBD accuracy which the device seems to have trouble with with the current software version

Terpenes

Beta-Caryophylene 0.7%
Alpha Pinene 0.05%
Beta Pinene 0.12%
Myrcene 0.06%
Limonene 0.17%
Camphene 0.01%
Geraniol 2.47%
Terpinolene 0.72%
p-Cymene 0.05%
Eucalyptol 0.03%
Humulene 1.85%
Nerolidol-1 0.03%

Terpene results were super interesting. Primary terps are Geraniol (Roses, also used to enhance the intensity of natural flavor extracts and perfumes) and Humulene (Hops, Pine, Citrus Wood). The two next strongest profiles are Beta-Caryophylene (Black Pepper) and Terpinolene (Cumin), interesting!!!!!

Can't wait to test the rest of my library and see what secrets are lurking there

every test coming off of alex's myDX is showing high in geraniol and humulene... every one so far except for the empty/non cannabis tests that came back all 0's.
not at all to discredit the results, but that's been my experience with about a dozen tests or so from his mydx personal analyzer.

How reliable are those things? I thought about getting one for myself.

I had to check the site as it sounded super cool.
Props to AM for pointing it out!

Site says it's "within 20% of conventional gas chromatography instrument values. "
And a new set of upcoming sensors will bring it up to 5% of a gc test!

Looks like I kno what to put on my Xmas list! Ha

What do you think of ur unit AMiles?

Big us respect and happy growing.

Seems odd. I honestly wasn't paying attention early in the season because I had a tumbler full of compost to deal with. Seems like Ace gets their stuff out early & there is a grow shop in Pueblo.

I love Big R. It's quintessential Colorado farm country. My mother lives near the one in Belmont. Growing up there, I can say that Pueblo soil needs all the organic matter you can give it.

not sure about the mydx, definitley the vote is still out on it... it's nice to have around and to get a baseline home test.... cool connectivity w it's own app that saves & uploads the tests results, that's hella-nifty.

I'd say I like it, glad i've had access to it. Couldn't afford one for myself, and if i could i may just go with the tests from a lab. imo home/mobile testing is/ will be a breakthru for growers.

any decent hydro store should have bales of promix. In the spring you can find it for $25-30 a bale and if you got a good spot shouldn't pay more then $35 any time of the year.

Sounds good man! I want to do the same thing here soon as well. I wouldn't have had anything ready for submitting probably for this one anyway but can you keep us posted in this thread about the possible one you mentioned in January? I'd love to toss my name in the hat.

Regarding the more obscure items that you would hope to get from a big box store the drive up to Colorado Springs isn't bad at all. There is a Grow Warehouse here in town as well as a decent number of smaller shops too.

Is this how you recycle coco?
I flush it with plain water, then replenish with Azomite, Dolomite Lime, and Dio Earth, other people use other things, but mostly it's the same, Rock dust + flushed used coco mix = new coco mix.

That's the bullshit I hate dealing with in this state. Why can't Colorado patients and caregivers get their material tested by a certified lab? Everything has to be licensed. I was looking to get a myDx specifically because of that reason. Other states that have mmj laws will. Why did Colorado screw us out of that?:angrymod:

industry protectionism... aka "big cannabis".
