While I was visiting CO I could not buy seeds at all. Didnt even get to see any clones in any shops. There was a clear distinction made between co residents and out of towners. We had a whole seperate area to shop in. I kept turning around like "I want that right there". They were all "dont worry about over there thats medical"

As an visitor to the state looking for genetics, I was rather disappointed.

Don't feel segregated.medical and rec separation applies to in staters as well

shopping for genetics (clones specifically) in CO and didn't look on craigslist, only in stores?
first mistake right there

Is that law or just that store's policy?

Tourists have the right to buy & possess a quarter ounce of any marijuana product.

OTOH, the store is probably being smart. Seeds are different because it can't be said that tourists intend to consume them in CO. There's a grey area in there where shop owners might be accused of conspiring to ship marijuana products out of state. Some owners will elect not to go there.

Dang Shishka, I'm sorry to hear that. N tottaly understand whare ur coming from. Even as a co resident I found it prety difficult to find despenceries offering seeds I want. Or any at all (many now Cary in hous made bs that's not researchable or verified)

As was stated earlier the Thread on co seedbanks has been very helpfull. And I hav added som RareDankness to my seedstock. But it's very difacult to find products from outside the state. Wich is lame.
The best options aside from attending the cups (htcc 710 exc). Wich are full of seed vendors. Is the euro seedbanks. Obviously the bay and the bou are my first rec, haven't tried herbies...
But at least here in co I can order w out stressing when a package gets emptied by customs, it's jst an excuse to order more.. Ha

Best of luck on your seed hunt.

Big ups respect and happy growing!

It's all good, just had to mess with the store clerks each time for a little fun. I understand it's their job.

I know, a little birdy told me that before hand and I wish I would have listened.

But with what I know of cl, that added with the shadiness of the "fake clone/real clone" game, I had absolutely no way to authenticate what I was buying.

Hindsight being 20/20, it would have been well worth it to just get what ever I could, real or fake.

I really thought I could just walk in with my over 21 id and buy clones or at least find a reasonable vendor at the htcc. It was my first cup and didnt really know what to expect.

Tourists have the right to buy & possess a quarter ounce of any marijuana product.

That was my logic, that me purchasing clones was not against the law, and even if somehow they did end up in my tent the vendor would have done nothing wrong.

I get it, when you have legalization you woulndt wanna mess that up

All in all, I had a wonderful time in denver. Spent most of my time at the downtown smokeout on 4/19. I met some cool peeps and got to light them up on some of my gear, fresh from the rotten apple.

Pics from the trip to CO:

I had a pretty good steak and eggs breakfast at some place not far from the htcc venue, anyone know the place?

Tried out a few dispos too!!!

If anyone you know of is coming to town for clones have them do a craiglist search for "smurph". That's all you need to know

i know my brother is an idiot he wanted to be a tourist and buy legal herb. Its like the time he was in Amsterdam and I told him to call some friends but he didn't want to bother them, he missed the whole part of them growing and selling herb for a living. But he was in a shop and saw some seeds so he wanted to buy them had nothing to do with the genetics of it just wanted to bring home some seeds.

Yep. It's actually illegal for shops to sell marijuana products originating out of state so seed selection is obviously quite limited as compared to internet vendors.

Is the price any better on RD seeds from local shops?

sure ting: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?threadid=268231

jhhhn; iirc 1o packs are 80$ at greenman, could have changed since then it was a while back i checked.... i'm sure you save a lil something off shipping and the risk of loosing them in the mail.

Thanks, Miles. You've always steered me straight. I shop at that King Soopers anyway so I'll check out the place.

I'm growing 6 of RD's goat wreck haze right now, trying to sex 'em. They're some of the first seeds I bought in Jan 2013. I really didn't know what I was looking at but I'd smoked some golden goat which I really enjoyed. I didn't understand that crossing 2 F1 poly hybrids would result in enormous variation but I do now. Of the 6 plants I have at least 4 phenotypes.

It may inspire me to do some cloning after I figure out how the hell I'll keep mother plants, anyway.

could you see the gardens? were they blatantly non compliant with the rules? were they just trashing it? or was it a much bigger production?

as far as i know it was non compliant structures causing the biggest problem to invite the cops in then some city ordinance limiting to a total of 12 plants. As far as I know its from complaints from neighbors but know in the past few weeks of prob 4-5 people who have had some visits. I don't believe anyone has gotten arrested just lots of large plants chopped.
A few people where going kinda large and while within their limits prob had 40lbs in the backyard, your gonna piss your neighbors off with that in city limits.

They don't want to arrest people because that would invite a constitutional challenge to Denver's 12 plant household limit. They also want to continue to define "locked enclosed space" as they please w/o legal challenge, as well.

They probably would arrest somebody if they couldn't buffalo 'em into chopping their plants.

I believe most clinic locations sell Reserva Privada seeds. RP is powered by DNA Genetics.
You could always have someone local grab you gear.. clean clones from shops are hard to come by though..

It's just about labeling & advertising. "Organic" is a technical & legal term with a specific meaning & cannabis can't fit into that so long as it's illegal at the federal level.

I doubt that providers who just go along with the new program will have any real issues. Call it "100% natural". Say it's "grown with only organic ingredients". Say a lot of things, just don't say it's "organic".

I was telling people this 2 years ago. No one wanted to listen though. I suppose I was 2 years ahead of the curve? :)

Unfortunately there are a lot of "know it all stoner fucks" in the industry. To much "Bro knows", and "Stoner science" in the industry for me.

The truth seems like an opinion to most.

I tried to get people to shut the fuck up, and change their wording. No one wanted to hear it though.

The quality coming from Colorado's legal grows is noticeably below other legal growing States, regions, etc.. What passes here as quality is mid's at best.

I have people hit me up all of the time to buy herb, and I just don't produce enough. They would rather pay more for mine, then to get it from the Dispensaries in Denver. I see how "caregivers" that know what they are doing can make it. The Dispensaries are actually helping the "caregivers" out.

There are a few shops that have decent quality, but as a whole the legal shop's quality is subpar at best.

The cannabis scene in Colorado blows my mind.
