begs to be reminded tho, there ARE good growers out there, trudging thru the bullshite, with the right mixture of people skills, grow skills, patience, and perhaps some luck who are growing large scale, i'd use scott reach of rare dankness as a "high profile" example, among others for sure.

yhea, i've told people to act stupid when applying for jobs, because employers look at knowledgeable people as "overqualified" they think people who know how to grow will argue and want to do it only their own way.
the way i put it in the past about myself is "i'm not here to step on anyones toes".
2 types of employers, the majority want growers to simply follow orders, the others look for growers with techniques, let them setup the system,

often times the "technique growers" are used (well paid for a very short time, then sacked) and then employers hire the "follow orders" type growers (at lowest possibly pay) to simply continue what the previous grower set up.

this has happened at MANY many shops not only for growers but also hash makers, river rock is somewhat famous for it.

bottom line is a knowledgeable grower is a valuable asset to a cannabis business, and and employers want to pay as little as possible to employees, growers included. a person who knows their own value will demand more and employers dont wana mess with that kind of person....
as for a good grower being expendable... i'd like to see the automatons solve a real problem & roll with the punches. imo the industry standard for good growers is yet to really be explored.
Yeah I saw the axe coming at one dispensary I was working in when the owners told me "Jose" was gonna start being my helper in the back. I caught him looking through my notebook and trying to snap pics of my fertilizer formulas with his phone without asking. It wasn't two days after that, I was let go. He didn't realize he had snapped pics of my old outdoor formulas that were way strong for what was going on in their indoor. Two days after they let me go, I heard they were having horrible problems at the shop. All the plants were burnt to death or wishing they were. The shop closed soon after. They should have sent a better spy I guess. Poor plants....

As the laws evolve hopefully so too will the protections for growers, it just seems to be happening at a snails pace unfortunately...

On the bright side, this great weather has people planting planting planting, I've got orders for 235 clones and counting, here's hoping I can get to 300 pending before I fill my next order :p

Sexy Sundies was fun, nice turnout for a first time hosting a weekly event, the fella hosting the dab bar was a bit aloof, but concentrate makers are on top these days :p

If you want to come next week, it's right next to Exdo, just find AJ Hashman's event page on facebook for details.

Prety sure dark horse genetics is the team/dude behind the Bruce Banner #3 cut that was making the rounds and winning a cup afew years ago.

I liked the cut a lot, big stem and vigor/structure of a croper strain w a full OG funk n flavor!
I never got to run mor than a tester as my buddy was keeping the mom and lost her.

IF darkhorse actually IS Jason from Delta9 who bred the bruce banner.... probably some fire in those beans. I grew for him (creator of BB#3) in my warehouse days, and was gifted many strains from him including the real BB#3 & BB#5.

I'd fuck with darkhorse genetics... nothing says about it says "avoid" about to me.

PTSD was again shot down today by the colorado dept. of health...
no surprise to me
you will see some shit in the news probably relating to veterans not getting access to cannabis,
bugs me when a specific slice of patients in need are "spotlighted" and used as political pawns to get broader access to cannabis, like veterans rights to safe legal access to cannabis as medicine is MORE valid than any other person or demographic in legitimate need.
like the seizure kids - i want nothing more than for them to get the meds they need (just like the vets) but i dont think that using one demographic as a "poster child" is a good idea, it sends the message that the needs of some (a minority for sure) outweigh the needs of all the others.
you can see the fallout from this being the CBD only legislation in state that are traditionally anti-cannabis, and at heart they still are. CBD only legislation is a failed attempt at safe legal access, if you disagree read the TN, GA, & NC (and possibly SC) CBD only bills - they are utterly terrible pieces of legislation that do NOTHING for people in need and give NO real access to cannabis as medicine within the state lines.

I draw the parallel between using KIDS to show the usefulness of CBD medicine with using VETS to show the usefulness of cannabis in general
how shitty would it be if PTSD was approved as a qualifying condition but for veterans ONLY? It seems to me that using veterans as poster children for cannabis as medicine for PTSD could result in similarly shitty legislation as the CBD only laws that have been passing recently.

I hate that for those guys. I was rooting for them. I don't think that there should even need to be poster children for any causes around medical or recreational weed. It should just be legal, plain and simple. It sucks but these stories have to be spun certain ways in order to cater to different demographics and slowly but surely win over more people.

I am blessed to be running gg4 and lime cookies bubba from avanish.miles and smurphberry jam and kong from sooper smurph in my outdoor this year along with some other stuff, sugarberry, lowryder and purple lowryder, I popped 10 of my shark shock cbd x harlequin a couple days ago. I have a blue heron f2 rosey pheno going, purple paki diesel something else from avi, and a round of seeds in my hugelculture project fro my last breeding round of male tangerine power, durban poision x pck and harlequin on blue kush, tangerine power, shark shock cbd, durban pck, pck, haze, brains choice, watermelon hashplant x ak-47 #4, I did a harlequin male with my sumo slumber, tangerine power, pck, watermelon hashplant landrace and harlequin f2 for f3 seeds.

I also got bokahi from homebrew420 :) my gardens are looking phenomenal outdoors this year... but I broke my tablet and my phone, so uploading picts is not possible. My zucchini and cucumber leaves are the size of large dinner plates and they have only been in the ground a month.

Next year my hugelculture pile will be better, as this year it's just settling in, duckmang built me a bunch of big raised beds in the front and with the addition of all the livestock we have (chickens, ducks, turkeys, bunnies) bokashi, lacto ferments and the sunshine things are looking really nice outside.

I'm hoping to ditch the bottle of nutes from the grow store this year and be truly sustainable.. except for lights and power lol. I do learn a lot from you guys :) thanks for being so awesome!!
